  • Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45 Daily Moisturizer
    4.0

Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45 Daily Moisturizer

Like other Neutrogena sunscreens, it balls up

Pros: Lightweight, fairly matte finish, fragrance-free, stable broad-spectrum sunscreen, doesn't sting (me). Huge con: Balls up a lot like so many other Neutrogena sunscreens. For this reason, I returned this product after using once. I will not tolerate any product that balls up. Period. Active Ingredients: Avobenzone 3.0%, Homosalate 12.0%, Octisalate 5.0%, Octocrylene 2.35%, Oxybenzone 6.0%. Inactive Ingredients: Water, Dimethicone, Trisiloxane, Diethylhexyl 2,6 - Napthalate, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Behenyl Alcohol, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Caprylyl Methicone, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Tocopherol, Allantoin, BHT, 1,2 Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pantothenic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid, Cetearyl Glucoside, Cetearyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Methylisothiazolinone.

  • PCA Skin pHaze 6+ Hydrator Plus SPF 25

This is the least irritating PCA Skin product that I have tried, which surprised me, since my skin often reacts to chemical sunscreens. This product is very lightweight, non-greasy, and fragrance-free, but unfortunately the sunscreen isn't photostable. In addition, it's packaged in a jar (which I hate), and it's rather pricey. Overall, I'll stick with my favorite Shiseido sunscreen instead. Active Ingredients: Avobenzone 2.0%, Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 3.0%, Oxybenzone 3.0%. Inactive Ingredients: Deionized Water, Propylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Tocopherol, Retinyl Palmitate, Sodium PCA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Titanium Dioxide, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Tetrasodium EDTA, Lactic Acid, Citric Acid.

  • Hawaiian Tropic Oil Free Faces Sunblock SPF 30

I love that this sunscreen is photostable, fragrance-free, and alcohol-free. It doesn't ball up when I apply it, and the finish is fairly matte, though I do become oily by the end of the day. Unfortunately, it stings my sensitive skin and makes it turn red. I am a bit aggravated that I had to e-mail HT for the ingredients of this sunscreen. All ingredients should be disclosed on the packaging. I actually thought that was the law, but apparently I was mistaken. Active Ingredients: Octocrylene 5.0%, Oxybenzone 3.0%, Avobenzone 1.0%. Other Ingredients: Water, Dicaprylyl Ether, Hydrated Silica, Glycerin, C14-22 Alcohols, Acrylates/C12-22/Alkylmethacrylate Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Polyacrylate, Dimethicone, C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Plumeria Acutifolia (Plumeria) Flower Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Fruit Extract, Psidium Guajava (Guava) Fruit Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Passiflora Incarnata (Passionflower) Fruit Extract, Colocasia Antiquorum (Dasheen) Root Extract, Disodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate, Silica.

  • Almay Clear Complexion Concealer

    Almay Clear Complexion Concealer

    Didn't cover well for me.

I have this in Light, and I find it too light for my very pale skin, a problem I've never had with a concealer before. I also find it too pink for covering blemishes well. I much prefer concealing with my HG foundation, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra. I am tossing this out and will not be repurchasing. Active Ingredient: Salicylic Acid 1%. Inactive Ingredients: Water, Cyclomethicone, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Boron Nitride, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Talc, Tribehenin, Trisiloxane, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Alumina, Nylon 12, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Polyisobutene, Synthetic Wax, Micocrystalline Wax, Sodium Chloride, Mushroom Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Cornflower Extract, Meadowsweet Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Phytantriol, Methoxypropylgluconamide, Panthenol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Triethoxy Caprylysilane, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Methoxy Amodimethicone/Silsequioxane Copolymer, Silica, Methicone, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Tetrasodium EDTA. May Contain: Zinc Oxide.

  • Bobbi Brown Lip Shimmer

    Bobbi Brown Lip Shimmer

    Beautiful product but pricey

I have this product in Raspberry, and I love the beautiful sheer color it provides. But for my money, I prefer Clinique Buttershine lipsticks (and Clinique Buttershine in Berry Blush is a good but cheaper match for Bobbi Brown Lip Shimmer in Raspberry).

  • Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow
    7.0

    Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow

Love the wide range of colors, not crazy about the performance

Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow has by far the best range of matte shades I've found. I much prefer matte eye shadow, and sometimes it's difficult to find. Unfortunately, I find the Bobbi Brown shadows to be a bit powdery and overall just not as nice to work with as my favorite Stila shadows. What a shame, because the colors are beautiful. Ingredients: Talc, Zinc Stearate, Polyethylene, Tricaprylin, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. May Contain: Chromium Oxide Greens, Iron Oxides, Ultramarines, Manganese Violet, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Bismuth Oxychloride, Carmine, Chromium Hydroxide Green.

  • Clinique True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer

Clinique True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer

I'm surprised that I like this bronzer

I received this product in Sunkissed as a gift with purchase paired with Blushing Blush in Iced Lotus. Having fair cool-toned skin, I'd never used a bronzer before, and I didn't see any use for it. I used the blush and left the bronzer alone. Then I read a suggestion in a magazine: apply bronzer just below the cheekbones, a brighter blush on the cheekbones, and blend. I tried it with the Sunkissed/Iced Lotus pair, and it worked! It was especially great for summer.

    PCA Skin pHaze 17 ReBalance

    Irritates my sensitive skin

This moisturizer is very lightweight, which is good for my acne-prone skin. Unfortunately, however, my sensitive skin reacts to this moisturizer with stinging and flushing. The product also irritates my eyes if I get it too close to them. I\'ve used lots of products that don\'t cause these reactions, so I\'m not sure what the culprit is. I also dislike the unsanitary jar packaging. I am not impressed with this product. Ingredients: Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Titanium Dioxide, Polysorbate 20, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Triethanolamine, Lactic Acid, Citric Acid, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

  • Cetaphil Therapeutic Hand Cream
    7.0

    Cetaphil Therapeutic Hand Cream

    Just slightly greasy

This stuff works very well to moisturize hands, and it mostly absorbs quickly. However, sometimes I have a hard time opening door knobs right after applying this hand cream. For this reason, I currently prefer Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream. Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Oleth 12, PEG-2 Stearate, Shea Butter, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Dimethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG 100 Stearate, Methylparaben, Tocopherol, Arginine PCA, Chlorhexidine Digluconate.

  • Clinique Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy

I received this product in Camisole as a gift with purchase. I love the pink color; it's great with my very fair skin. However, this product reminded me why I don't wear lip gloss: I hate the thick, sticky feel it has. I also disliked the glitter in this product. I use this occasionally just because I have it, but I would never purchase it myself.
