I bought this hoping to lend my fine, chin-length bob some texture, especially on the ends. It completely stiffened my hair and looked horrible. I have it to a friend with a pixie cut and she used it to make her hair spiky. It worked, but she, like me, wasn't thrilled with the product's texture and you could tell she had gunk in her hair. I wouldn't use this again unless I needed super duper hold for a spiky look.

I bought a bottle of China Glaze because I coveted For Audrey, a Tiffany (robin's egg) blue. It's the prettiest color I've ever owned, and the only way I can where blue on my nails without feeling silly. I can't wait to purchase more colors from the China Glaze line. I'm a nail polish fanatic, and this is the best polish I've ever used. One coat gave me the color in the bottle with minimal streaks and didn't pool around my cuticles. Other pluses: mild smell, dries quickly, lasts for a long time, and comes in a chic little bottle.

Almay is one of the few (if not the only) cruelty-free drugstore brand, which is why I bought this product. I keep buying it because it works well, is inexpensive, and comes in a pretty bottle. The time-crunched should know that it takes a couple swipes with a cotton ball and then some cleanup around your eye with a q-tip to get all of your makeup off.

The smell is citrus-y--pleasant, natch--but I prefer for everything that goes onto my face to be odorless. Still, this stuff almost wooed me away from my beloved Olay moisturizer. It's rich but it absorbs well, and it doesn't clog my pores. And it's great that Biore added SPF.

I love the way this smells and the price is right, but it's too potent, especially because I always feel a little sheepish wearing this: I suspect it's for a younger crowd, not for the office. I tried it on whenever I was at Ulta or Sephora, and ultimately decided against buying it. I like it, but it's just ... too much.

I bought this in the color displayed on this page (Antique Jade). The color looks vibrant in the package, but it doesn't transfer to lids. It maintained its shimmer, but it looked khaki green on. When I added another layer, it just looked like dark khaki. Not what I was going for when I picked this color. On the plus side: it was so cheap I didn't feel guilt for chucking it.

In this economy I'm finding that I have to turn away from the lovely and tempting eye shadow offerings of Urban Decay, Clinique, MAC, and other top brands with top shadows. Thank goodness for Ulta eyeshadows. I can often find the color I want and know that for a few dollars I'll be rewarded with soft, well-pigmented, glide-on colors. I wish they had more matte shades.

This product is a gel that contains things like seeds for texture. I really wanted it to slough off the dead, itchy skin that plagues me during the winter. Unfortuantely, the gel the exfoliators are suspended in cushions them too much, which makes for a weak exfoliation.

This finishing spray worked best for me when I changed my expectations. It's not good for freezing updos--it doesn't even keep my ponytail in place--but it holds my straight style. My hair hates to be straightened, and without this it wouldn't stay straight all day, in spite of the all the blowdrying and flat ironing. This spray doesn't add any stickiness, stiffness, or weight to my hair, and I can still run my fingers through it. I'm not crazy about the smell, but the nozzle is so well-designed--giving me a nice, even spray every time--that I'm willing to forgive it. I purchased the sample-size of this and going back for the big one.

It's true that this hairspray won't flake, give you helmet head, or dry stiff or sticky. What it also won't do is maintain your look. It didn't do a very good job of keeping my ponytail and bangs in place, and when I wore my hair down and straight, it made it look a little stringy and the straight style didn't last more than a couple of hours. Plus it left a weird smell in my hair. I'm tossing this and going back to Redken.
