This mascera would have been pretty if it didn't distribute a swarm of clumps with every stroke and look dry on my lashes. Everyone seems to love it, so I'm willing to concede that I may have picked up a bad bottle, but at that price, it's not worth finding out.

I'm promiscuous when it comes to beauty products--I rarely buy the same product twice because I love to try new ones. This product was one in a long line of body washes, and as soon as I've finished my current body wash, I'm going back to it, permanently. It's the only body wash that actually leaves my skin feeling comfy (as opposed to dry and itchy) throughout the day. And I love the sweet, subtle scent of honey.

I should have kicked this product to the curb a long time ago, but I really, really wanted it to work, and all the signs indicated that it should work: great brand, great ingredients, etc. But alas, it totally sucks. Even when I used just a dab, it made my hair feel heavy and overly slick without being shiny. Most importantly, it failed to straighten my way naturally wavy hair, even when used with a blowdryer and flat iron. Ugh.

I swiped my finger across the sample blush at Sephora, and decided I would climb every mountain and forge every sea to make it mine. Of course, the price tag turned out to be more difficult to overcome than the Himalayas, but I sucked it up and brought Gilda home. We've been happy ever since. Smooth and soft as chinchilla fur, this blush gave my fair skin the natural glow I've never found in a blush (which are typically garishly bright on me and too pink). I was also smitten with Oga*m, but found it too sparkly for everyday wear. I'll probably treat myself to it someday, though.

After reading all the glowing reviews and seeing the Allure award for this product, I had to try it. Makeup junkie that I am, I was excited about the prospect of an awesome but inexpensive eye shadow. What a let down. The color is hardly high-intensity, and it had that grainy look that characterizes cheap drugstore brands instead of the smoothness I crave in an eyeshadow. For two useless HIPs you can have one wonderful MAC. Put your seven bucks in a jar and save toward a worthier brand.

The price is horrifyingly high, but it works so darn well. This is the only truly non-tacky, long-lasting, rich-colored lip gloss I've tried (and when it comes to lip gloss, I get around). I asked the woman at the Chanel counter to pick out a bright, pretty color for me that I could wear everyday and on its own. She went straight to a lovely shade of coral that intensified my blue eyes and has just the right amount of shimmer. When you're ready for a splurge or have a birthday coming up, do indulge.
