  • E.L.F. Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick

I love ELF and I have really good luck with most of their products, and for a $1 or $3, I can try almost every product if I want. It's such a great bargain! However, this product was a total disappointment. I have used the WNW version and it is really good; however, the ELF version lacked in pigmentation and moisture. It also had a matte finish versus more of a "gloss" finish as they claim. I purchased these in Movie Star (red) and In The Nude. I had to reapply the product over and over again (even Movie Star) to see any pigmentation. I hate to throw products out, even for a $1, so I might use it as a lip balm but even as a balm, it lacks the moisture that should be expected with a product like this.

    E.L.F. Essential Lipstick

    Not the best $1 lipstick...

I love ELF products, but this one is a "miss." The packaging is clunky and makes it difficult to twist smoothly. The pigmentation is good, but the texture feels heavy and reminiscent of Crayola crayons. I purchased this in "Classy" which some say is a dupe for MAC's Angel. I would actually disagree; I think Classy is just a bit more fushia and has a slight shimmer effect versus a frost like Angel. I do like ELF's Mineral lipsticks and would recommend them over the Essential line.

  • Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30

I bought this sunscreen for the summer months as I thought it would give me a nice glow. It is very, very subtle; so subtle that I was even able to wear at to work in a professional office. The texture is nice and it does provide some moisture. Where this product lacks is the smell is a bit off putting. I can't really describe it; nothing like coconut or suntan lotion. It also tends to linger. The reviews from professionals (dermatologists) were not high on this product, but I can't speak to the science behind it; SPF's can be kind of tricky to review just for that reason. However, I wouldn't purchase again.

  • Bari Cosmetics Pure Ice Nail Enamel
    10.0

Bari Cosmetics Pure Ice Nail Enamel

    Yup - it's THAT good!

I absolutely agree with another reviewer - Pure Ice is THE best budget polish for so many reasons. One, the price. At under $2 you can try just about every color under the sun and not break the bank. Yaaaaay! Two, there are THE most color options of any other budget polish; I mean 100 or more options. It is amazing. :) Three, it lasts just as long as any other great polish! I can get a month on my toes and a week on my fingers. The colors are highly pigmented and come in so many styles and varieties; matte, glitter, frost, sparkle, nudes, pinks, purples, greens - the list goes on and on. This is ALWAYS my go to and I would highly recommend it to anyone. (TIP: Try applying a coat of clear every weekend to extend your pedi to one month. I also apply an extra coat of clear halfway through the week on my fingers to refresh my mani. It works like a charm!)

    Sinful Colors Nail Color

Bright colors at a great price!

This is one of my favorite budget-friendly polishes. I can go 4 weeks on my toes (adding a clear coat once per week to sustain color and prevent chips) and the typical 7 days on my fingers (with an extra clear coat to refresh the manicure about halfway through the week) and I type - a lot. Plus, I wear sandals and particularly flip flops at least 4 months out of the year and have had no issues with this product. I love the choices of colors and the price!

  • Sexy Hair Smooth Sexy Hair Sulfate-Free Smoothing Conditioner

Check out my shampoo review - it is pretty appalling! LOL Anyway, the conditioner smells nice (thank you coconut oil!) and is very rich. It left my hair super soft and smooth. I would definitely suggest the conditioner to people; however, I am one of those weirdos that likes to buy the matching shampoo with the conditioner, so as a result, I will not be repurchasing, however, it is a very good product. I am not sure why they put "sulfate free" on the conditioner label as no conditioner has sulfates (salts - create lather) in it.

  • Sexy Hair Smooth Sexy Sulfate-Free Smoothing Shampoo
    3.0

Sexy Hair Smooth Sexy Sulfate-Free Smoothing Shampoo

Grossest hair I have ever had....

First things first; I don't like sulfate free shampoos. Silly old me purchased this online during a liter sale after hearing the great reviews, and had NO idea it was sulfate free. Ha! Well, I decided to give it a try anyway. Ugh - I am so regretting that. My roots are oilier and I have a dry skin disorder where my scalp, face, ears, eyebrows tend to get very dry. It's genetic; thanks mom. Anywho, as a result, I have to wash my hair everyday or every other day. If I go more than that, my hair is a wreck and my scalp is very, very dry. Because of my scalp disorder, I also need a shampoo that really lathers well to wash the oil and skin. So, I gave this a try anyway. The smell was nice, the texture was a little thick and of course almost no lather. My hair is thick so I gave it a good soaking before applying the shampoo to try and get as much lather as possible out of it. This went on for several shampoos; maybe for 4 or 5 days. Well, I am also working overtime at work and crazy busy so I couldn't get to a store to get new shampoo. (Sleep was way more important! LOL) Let's just say that after the first shampoo, I actually had to use dry shampoo!!! Yes, the first day. You heard right! My scalp was still dirty and oily feeling/looking. That weekend I had a hair appointment; thank God! I begged my stylist for a good washing. She said that she has never seen my hair like this before! In all the years I have been seeing her. She had to add a clarifying shampoo to my scalp and let it sit. Then she scrubbed it and rinsed, then washed twice more. Between the lack of cleansing and the dry shampoo I had to use everyday, my hair could practically stand on its own! I would never use this shampoo again. I am thinking I should give it a 1, but I know some people really like sulfate free shampoos and I did buy the wrong product blindly so I settled on a 3.

  • Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup

This is one of my HG foundations (that and Perfectly Real). I wear this shade in the summer time in 09. My skin used to be oilier, but now I would consider it more combo. I would suggest this foundation to ANYone with combination/oily skin. If your skin is truly oily, I think you will be disappointed as the foundation really isn't mattifying enough for oily skin. I would still suggest setting the foundation, at least in the tzone area. I love the staying power and color options. Clinique makes some of the best foundations out there and as a side note, the prices are also reasonable compared to other "prestige" foundations. Considering how little is required to cover, it is so worth it! I would consider it a light to medium coverage and it leaves a very natural, non-cakey look to the skin.

  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Makeup

This is a great foundation; however, there is one very BIG flaw. First of all, I almost exclusively use department store foundation; I find it almost impossible to find just the right shade in just the right formula, so it has always been easier for me to skip the drugstore and go right to the experts. My skin is oilier in the tzone and I prefer a light to medium coverage; my biggest concern is big pores. If those are covered, I am happy! I liked the coverage with this foundation. I purchased both W3 and W4; however, I am thinking that the neutral series would have been best. The warms (W) were almost too yellow and the cools (C) were almost too pink. However, the color isn't even my issue. My issue, and what kept this foundation from being a 9/10, is that it is NOT transfer resistant in any way. I went to a birthday party over the weekend and gave someone a big hug and to my horror, my foundation was left on her white blouse! That has NEVER happened to me before. A few days later I hugged my boyfriend and he also walked away with a foundation stain. Ewwwww! Not cute at all, girls. That and that alone will prevent me from ever buying this foundation again. Back to the store it goes! (FYI - all of my other makeup was the same.) Foundation covered well, lots of color options to choose from, better for oily skin than the Lumi version and lasts well.

  • Mederma Skin Care for Scars Advanced Scar Gel

Mederma Skin Care for Scars Advanced Scar Gel

    Another "Scar" Disappointment

I am quick to scar; breakouts, mosquito bites, scratches. Sighhhh..... I have found that the BEST treatment is tackling them immediately with good old Neosporin. If you don't have it, keep is moisturized, moisturized; cocoa butter, A & D Ointment, Vaseline or Aquaphor work in a pinch. Prevention is everything, yet I still get suckered into these gimmicky scar treatments; it's terrible, but I am so relieved to know I am not the only one! This treatment ran me around $16 and I have been using it for several months, twice a day, even though this formula claims 1X a day is all you need. Even though I stuck with it so long, I really found the product completely useless. The consistency reminded me of aloe vera gel that my mom used to put on my cuts and burns when I was growing up; you know, the real kind yet not quite as sticky. It did absolutely nothing for my scar and was an unnecessary step in my facial regime. I think I will just prevent, prevent, prevent moving forward and love whatever gets left behind; dark spots or scars, I am still beautiful. :)
