  • Maybelline New York Great Lash Clear Mascara

Every so often I like to evaluate my beauty routine and see if I can combine products or remove them to be a bit more efficient in the mornings. Well, I was using a brow pencil, powder and wax in the mornings and decided to switch to a powder and this clear mascara after seeing this suggestion used on You Tube. It was a perfect combination! I was worried that it would cause flakiness on my brows, and let's be honest ladies, who wants that?? Instead, it left my brows looking polished with a soft shine. In fact, when I am in a hurry, I can even skip the powder and just use this and it works wonders. It keeps my brow hair conditioned and in place. I would definitely recommend using this!

  • Maybelline New York Volum' Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara

I have always had amazing luck with Maybelline mascaras and I hardly ever stray from this brand. So when their newest mascara came out, there was no way I was missing it! I have been using the straight Colossal for the past two years or so and have been EXTREMELY happy with it. Since this is essentially the "sister" mascara, I knew I had to try it and I am so glad I did! This is my new go to mascara; if you can even believe it, it is BETTER than the original Colossal! It provides amazing volume, length and separation (no clumps!). I would highly recommend that this be a staple in your makeup bag.

  • Hard Candy All Lid Up Creme Eye Shadow

I purchased this shadow in Fancy Pants. It was actually more of a glitter than the shimmer that I was expecting; however, the biggest challenge was that it required a very heavy application in order to be seen. Also, it strangely had very poor coverage also; it was more glitter than color. I was making an effort to dupe the Loreal version which is about twice as much, but alas, this was not a successful experiment. I would definitely recommend an alternate brand.

  • e.l.f. Studio Lip Balm SPF 15
    8.0

e.l.f. Studio Lip Balm SPF 15

    An "Almost" Lipstick

If you are looking for a true lip balm, you will be disappointed. (I was a bit!) But as a moisturizing lipstick, this is a great product. As always, the packaging on the Studio line is sleek. I purchased this in Peach; I found the color to be more intense than I originally expected. There is a nice menthol/tingly feeling, though what the benefits are, I am not certain there are any. However, there is a nice SPF, which is another reason I purchased this item. It is also around $2-$3 each and I had no difficulty with the application; the color was rich and pigmented, and applied easily and evenly. Although, I wasn't particularly crazy about the Peach color in the end, I would definitely try it again in other colors.

  • Avon SKIN SO SOFT Replenishing Hand Cream

TB would like this review under this category, but the lotion is a bit different. I have to be honest right off the bat - I am not a huge fan of Avon. I like the convenience of being able to purchase items at a store, and I also haven't found any Avon products that I have fallen in love with. (Perhaps if I did I would be more willing to go out of my way for them?) With that being said, this is a decent hand cream but not one that I would go out of my way for. I found it to be a bit overly fragranced (and an odd fragrance) but it did leave my hands reasonably moisturized. If you love Avon, give it a try, but otherwise, there are better options available that are also more convenient and accessible.

  • E.L.F. Studio Eyebrow Treat & Tame

I bought this in the Clear/Medium. I am not aware if there are any other colors available, but I do really like this product! I use pencil for "correction" and go back and forth between a powder and a wax depending on the mood I am in, so this was my first gel. I was looking for a bit of hold and this product didn't disappoint. There is a clear gel on one end that is called "treat." It's basically a vitamin e gel but what it treats, I am not exactly sure. LOL Anywho, on the opposite side is the brown gel which I apply in a feathery motion after applying the pencil to correct any areas. It is definitely worth the $3 and gives my brows nice control without looking stiff. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is that I don't care for the applicator on the "treat" side and the applicator on the "tame" side doesn't seem to pick up enough product on it, so I sometimes have to "pump it" to get more product on it. (Thank goodness this isn't a mascara!)

  • E.L.F. Essentials Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

I love ELF products! I also love saving money even more. :) But I have discovered that there are some products that you just can't skimp on, such as foundation, and yes, liquid eyeliner. If you are going to a one time event or party, this is perfect, but I wouldn't use it for everyday wear. It is somewhat difficult to apply as it is a bit dry. I tried storing it upside down so the ink would keep the point wet, but even that didn't work. I much prefer eyeliner in a pot as far as the application is concerned. You will get a decent amount of wear on this before fading, but you will more than likely have to press hard on the application if not re-apply a few times to make sure there is enough coverage. As a side note, this comes in both a black and white package. I have the white. It will say ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen, but when you look it up on their website, it does specify Essentials in the title. Definitely worth the $1 as long as you know what to expect!

  • E.L.F. Mineral Pressed Mineral Blush

I bought this blush in Cabo Cabana and it is a versatile, beautiful color that will look good on anyone! I would describe it is a deep coral with some shimmer; not too orangey or too pinkey. It also has great staying power and the compact design is really nice! It reminds me a bit of the MAC compact; sleek and modern looking. Definitely worth the $3! Can't wait to try more colors. :)

  • Organix Moroccan Sea Salt Spray
    8.0

    Organix Moroccan Sea Salt Spray

    Light, beachy waves!

I have to admit, first and foremost, this is not my all time favorite beach spray. That goes to True Blue Spa Malibu Waves, which I just found out was discontinued! My heart is broken. Sighhhh Anywho, this spray is good but not my soul mate. It is certainly lighter than the paste version is, but it didn't provide me with enough frizz control or curl definition. The smell is pleasant. I may buy it again if I can't find another replacement, after all, I can just add some extra frizz serum to it, but it is nice when there is an all in one product that does just what it claims to do.

  • Organix Moroccan Surf Paste

I was on the fence about this review; is it a 4 or a 6? I decided to go with the 6 as it isn't horrible; however, there are much better options out there. My hair is long with some coarseness, but overall has a great wavy texture but it can be difficult to get it to have that sexy, tousled beach look. I have tried many, many products and I recently found one that worked (True Blue Spa Malibu Waves Spray) but this was isn't. It's incredibly heave and greasy, so use a light hand and add more as needed. It did nothing for frizz for me and just made my hair seem a little dirty or heavy. I tried using it a few different ways; putting it in wet hair, braiding it and letting it air dry; putting it in wet hair and letting it air dry, etc. I wasn't impressed with any of these ways. I even tried using it to scrunch hair for next day beach waves, and nothing really. It was just a tacky mess and the texture of the product was nothing short of icky in my hands. I would try a spray for a much lighter feel. As a side note, the smell was very pleasant and there is a matching spray that may work better for you. The paste might be better for extremely coarse, curly and just plain unmanageable hair. I would also suggest it as an option for shorter hair rather than longer.
