I picked up a Chapstick the other day when I saw that it came in Cake Batter! What?? That is just waaaay too good to pass up! I have tried the Original, Cherry, Peppermint and Spearmint. It's strange; even though they all are different flavors, they all almost taste the same; there is that "signature" Chapstick taste and feel. I like Chapstick; it has been around forever and is the "'ol reliable" but there are so many other options out there nowadays, that it isn't my favorite. But it is always fun to just spend a $1 on a fun flavor that you may want to try; I just personally don't find it all that moisturizing or long lasting and it's a bit waxier than other options. Don't get me wrong, I still like it and it is fun to experiment, but there are some other that really "take the cake!" :)

As a girl with long, thick hair I have searched high and low for a detangler or leave-in that would make it easier to comb my hair after washing it. Granted, most of the products I have tried have been drugstore, but a few salon products also. My experience has been (please share yours if you disagree! :) that salon or high end products make better detanglers. As much as I LOVE drugstore products, there are just some things that I have to spend more money on, and this is one of them. It seems that anything that STAYS on your hair or skin, rather than rinsing it away, matters most as far as the ingredients and all. This one is definitely a keeper! Due to seborrheic dermatitis, I have to wash my hair daily and this product lasts me a good 3 months. Not bad for $15 or so! It really leaves my hair soft and manageable, but most importantly for me, it lets the comb glide through my hair without a tangle. I would definitely recommend as this is the "holy-grail" of spray in conditioners! (PS Just picked up a gigantic bottle at TJ MAXX for half the price! Wowza.)

If you prefer a wet, shiny, non-sticky gloss, this one is for you! This is one of my favorite "budget" glosses. I recently wore this over the summer in 520 Papaya Splash and it is yummy-lishiness! It is a pretty peachy color with shimmer that isn't too over the top or glittery. It has a pleasant smell, taste, and texture. There is really nothing that I don't like about this gloss. It comes in a variety of colors and flavors (try Caramel Apple for the Fall!) and the packaging is not "too" youthful considering the fun flavors. I usually stock up on a few when they are on sale and I have a coupon for extra savings. I would definitely give them a try! (Sidenote: As a result of the shiny, slickness, they obviously don't last long, so if you don't like reapplying this one isn't for you. :(

I was looking for a drugstore BHA exfoliant for my oily, blackhead prone skin. I came across this on the Paula's Choice website as a recommended product. I used it for many months, until the tube was empty so I definitely feel comfortable reviewing this. First, I don't have acne and this is an acne spot treatment so I can't say how effective it will be for that. However, the product has a very nice lotion texture and is extremely gentle for those that have both oily/congested skin that is also sensitive. It was actually a bit TOO gentle for me (or maybe just not as effective as I thought it would be?). I was hoping for more observable results. I stuck with it, though, and I do think there was some difference in the tiny pimples I would get on my cheeks and also my blackheads. However, once complete, I had to switch to a stronger BHA. I do like that this product is PH balanced and non-irritating. I used twice a day and had no issues. I would definitely give it a try and see if it might work for you; it is very promising. Towards the end, I started using all of my face versus just in my T-zone and it tended to keep things at bay.

I really hate giving products a "1" star rating, but when I found myself cleaning my toilet with this product, I realized that I had to. I purchased this on a mini ELF haul; love most of ELF products! But I found those clothes just gross. First, the price. It was $3 for only 10. So, I was expecting quality at or near Neutrogena's version since the ELF version actually costs MORE than the Neutrogena version. Unfortunately, the quality was just a disappointment. When I first took it out of the package, the material is a bit thin. It sticks together so you have to tug a bit which "stretches" the cloth out (enough to where you can see through it). The material itself is rough; some of the roughness is intentional (the cloth has an exfoliating side) but it just didn't feel gentle or soft on my skin regardless of which side I used. Although, I like ELF makeup products I am not sure I would trust them for skincare and this product definitely falls into the skincare category. As a sidenote, the sticky flap that covers the opening, kept popping back off which will dry the cloths out faster. I got so frustrated with it, I started using them to clean my mirrors. LOL Little did I know, there is some type of "lotion" or oil in the product which created white streaks on the mirror, So, I ended up using to wipe off the toilet seat and bathroom counters. LOL Oh, well. Guess I will stick with Neutrogena for now.

This is one of my new, favorite moisturizers! It's a bit rare to add any product to my "empties" collection but this is one of them. I was literally scraping the sides of the jar to get every last bit out. There are so many things I like about this moisturizer; the fragrance, texture... It reminds me of the Clinique Moisture Surge at a drugstore price. This was what Garnier was trying to accomplish with their version, but a million times better. Even though I love this product, there are some challenges to discuss so I had to give it an 8 (even though the "love" is a 10!). One, the packaging. It would be best packaged into a pump versus a jar where the ingredients would remain stable. Two, as much as I LOVE the cool, cucumber fragrance, fragrance is considered an irritant and can break down collagen in the skin. Three, while there are some good ingredients in this product, there are no real antioxidants. So, if you are in your teens or twenties I think this would be a fantastic option, especially for oily/combo skinned girls. The moisture is light and hydrating without being heavy or leaving skin greasy. If you are in your thirties, like I am, while this is a good product, it won't provide you with the "essentials" you will need. Fresh Effects is an Olay brand that is definitely geared towards teens/twenties but shouldn't necessarily be overlooked. I also love to carry this moisturizer with me as a hand/body lotion. I can't say enough about the texture and fragrance and although it is nice on the face, it is incredible everywhere else, too!

I purchased this during a semiannual sale; I wouldn't pay full price for it, but it is a very nice lotion. I am trying to cut back on the fragrance in my skincare line but it is so hard as I LOVE fragrance. The lotion is nice and light, with a softer smell than the other BBW lotions (think signature line). The glass bottle looks expensive and polished; very pretty on my vanity.

I saw some reviews for this product and was really intrigued. I normally am so good about checking ingredients before I purchase a product, but in this case I purchased 2 containers while on sale for $15 each on the Avon website. Well, unfortunately, this product has SD Alcohol 40 as the 4th ingredient (rubbing alcohol). I actually didn't realize that until I was just about done with the first container. I had to stop using it; I was disappointed, but honestly, I really didn't see a big difference. The first few times I used it, my skin really burned and tingled (AKA irritation!). Tingling, burning, menthol, peppermint, or any essential oils or fragrance, are not actually beneficial for any skincare product. The reality is that alcohol breaks down collagen in the skin and is an irritant. Often times skin can be irritated even under the surface where we can't "see" it such as the case with damaging collagen with alcohol. For this reason, I would not suggest this product to ANYONE. There are other exfoliants out there that provide healthy ingredients, antioxidants etc. I don't want to pay for this down the road so I stopped using it, and tossed the second container.

Whether or not a mask is needed for a skin routine has always been debatable, but I am really impressed with this mask. I use it twice per week and it really helps to purge my skin and make it glow. The results are subtle so stick with it and don't give up! I love that it is not overly drying and compared to so many other masks, the ingredients are fairly basic. I purchased this at Target for around $15. It's a little runny and a bit gritty, but it works really well and doesn't dry out my skin or irritate it. The container is a bit small (4.2 oz) compared to other masks out there, but you are definitely getting quality over quantity.

I purchased this in a mini ELF haul and was excited to try it out! However, it was a complete "miss." The formula is runny and very thin; not much thicker than water, really. It DOES dry fast, but with a formula that thin, I would expect it to. Additionally, the shine is very, very muted. It was too natural for my taste and the coverage of the polish is poor. I would not recommend.
