I have been using the Suave Dry Shampoo for the past few years. I wash my hair every other day, and on off days like to spruce up the volume and attack any oily roots I may have (usually around my face!). This one is a whole other animal. First, they sort of "trick you" into thinking that it is a powder free dry shampoo; when you first spray, it applies clearly and has a pleasant smell. However, it is mostly alcohol and I understand why. After all, wouldn't alcohol dry up oily roots? I myself have used body splash on roots when in a pinch. (No judging! :) However, I find that the powder shampoos, although annoying as they require more "blending" especially for dark haired girls like myself, are also more effective than alcohol. However, I sprayed it on my roots and it had a tacky feel. I fluffed up my hair and started noticing about a few minutes later what appeared to be powder. I think the intent was for it to spray clear to reduce the oil and dry to a powder finish? Well, who wants that on hair? A powder finish? Anyway, I had almost left the house at this point as it had been a few minutes from the time I applied it and was shocked. I refluffed it again to try to absorb the powder, and it did, but it did not absorb the oil or freshen my hair. I would have been better off with nothing. I always use these types of products sparingly as the more I use, the more tacky my hair is, but this one just left it feeling and looking dirty.

Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer
My newest O-B-S-E-S-S-I-O-N!
I have been on the hunt girls for an amazing concealer! My trash can was getting quite full and then I tried this one. I have always been a fan of Maybelline mascaras and this is a definite winner. Not only does it come in a variety of colors (including neutralizer!) it is easily blendable; not dry or cakey at all. I wasn't sure that I would like the sponge tip, but it is like a mini blending tool right there! It makes it so easy. If you prefer to use your fingers, the concealer has the perfect texture for blending. It also has great staying power; I am super impressed! I just turn the dial and apply. I purchased in both light and medium. I started using the light for highlighting and medium for concealing, but then I switched to medium so it is super versatile for different looks. I always have at least 2 colors on hand for the different seasons. The only thing I would change about this product is the price was a little high for a drugstore concealer; I believe I paid around $8.99. I had a coupon (frugal girls rock!) which was super helpful but I think I would bring the price down about $2. It is still totally worth the buy! This gives light to medium coverage and I also apply setting powder for extra staying power. I will definitely repurchase.

Good price, good color selection but I can't seem to get past the odd smell and taste. I wasn't impressed.

This isn't the best eyeshadow out there, but it does have some really good qualities. For one, it offers a pallette of many usable colors for under $10. I bought this in Warm Nude and every color is universally flattering. The packaging is super cute and very reminiscent of a more high end brand. The challenge for me was the pigmentation as most people have observed. It IS buildable, but I had to be a little patient and persistent with it. Also, the strips are so close together. I would have preferred wider sections of shadow. I also found them to not be as blendable as I would like. Still, the colors are very pretty and workable and this is a much more affordable option than the high end nude palettes everyone is obsessed with.

I love ELF products; love, love, love, but this lip gloss was a disappointment for me. I like a gloss that is more shiny, slick and wet looking. I bought this one in 3 colors on a mini ELF haul; Candlelight (peachy nude), Malt Shake (brown) and Strawberry (opaque red with glitter). The first thing I noticed was that the tube was incredibly sticky. I thought it was just a fluke until I opened the other two packages and took those tubes out. It turns out that it was the plastic; nothing was actually on the tube itself. Packaging may not seem that much, but it is a definite consideration with the overall product. I wasn't keen on the glitter (I prefer shimmer) but after all, it is hard to see on the website exactly what color you may be getting. I smelled the product and it had a sweet smell; all the glosses smelled the same (I wasn't sure if the Strawberry would smell like strawberries, etc.). The biggest drawback for me was the texture; it was a sticky, tacky kind of texture. If you are looking for more of a long wearing gloss and that is what you are used to, I think for a buck this would be a perfect solution. But if you are more like me where you want a slippery, smooth feel, I would definitely pass on this option. I actually prefer the WNW lip gloss in a tube. It is the same price but far superior IMO. The shine is also not quite there with this product, which is odd for a lip "gloss."

I love a lot of the Sonia Kashuk products and really wanted to love this one. I purchased it in light; it was a fairly inexpensive (around $10) concealer pallette with two light shades and two light/medium shades. I love the idea of a pallette for different looks and seasons; however, I found this product to be too drying for such a delicate area. I don't want to have to do too much tugging in that area and I found myself having difficulty blending the product as a result. I could probably add a drop of my eye moisturizer to it, but I think I will just try another brand.

I have been searching far and wide for a deep conditioning mask that actually performs; both drugstore and prestige brand. Thus far, I have been disappointed and I am starting to think that the idea of a hair mask is not only overrated but maybe not even needed? Don't get me wrong, this is a nice conditioner in the sense that my hair is soft and tangle free but nothing blew me away or stood out from any other conditioner that I have tried, drugstore or otherwise. The fragrance was nice though may be overpowering for some (smells somewhat perfumey). I think it would be nice as a daily conditioner (except for fine hair), especially on the ends and away from the roots, but as a mask, my hair didn't feel any softer or shinier as a result. Additionally, I used the entire bottle before doing my review as I often do with products to give them a fair enough shot. For now, I will be sticking with my normal conditioner and saving the extra space in my shower! :)

I purchased some blushes off of the MAC site and heard some pretty good things about the MAC puffs. They are very soft and feel like velvet on my skin. The ribbon also makes the application super easy as I can stick my fingers under the ribbon to grip the puff better. I also use this for both pressed and loose powders. The only challenge I had was that I was expecting the puff to be a bit larger and/or fluffier and also the price was more than what I usually spend, but a good product.

I started off loving this concealer; it is whippy, creamy, ultra moisturizing and very easy to blend. It also had nice staying powder. However, the color range is poor. I have light to medium/olive skin and the rep suggested Light Petal as a match. I believe Light Petal is the lightest shade that they currently have (out of maybe 3 or 4 shades). When I took it home I put a dot on my hand and a dot of my foundation; the concealer was actually darker than my foundation. Hmmm. Well, I decided to try it anyway since I was so impressed with the formula; I still am, actually. However, the color on my skin was too peachy/pinky. Some peach is good; it can make the eyes look brighter and more awake, but this was too much. I had to blend and blend and blend to be able to make it look right. It did make a good eye primer, so since I didn't have the receipt to return it, I started using it as a primer. However, as a concealer, they need more color options. My skintone isn't hard to match and if I am having some difficulty, then I know they need more options! :)

There is a cult-like following for this product, so I know I will have many that will disagree with me! :) Don't get me wrong; I do like many of the NYC products including the Smooth Skin line. However, where I differ with this product is that it only comes in 1 color (that I have ever found) - Sunny. Sunny in itself has a cult following; even trusted bloggers and You Tubers that I follow religiously for beauty LOVE this product. The color Sunny is very much a terracotta color. I love that it is matte, but on my light/medium olive skin it looked too orange. In fact, I actually cannot picture a skin tone that WOULD look good with this color but people really seem to like it. At least the price is right, so if it doesn't fly with your skin tone, it is easily replaceable. The powder itself is nice, just a challenge with the color and not enough of a color range. It also didn't work with contouring as the color was so off.
