  • Yves Rocher Citrus Flower Shower Gel
    8.0

Yves Rocher Citrus Flower Shower Gel

    Very moisturising and pleasant smell...

There are a lot of products I like from this line of "Yves Rocher"... This is my third favourite moisturiser in the "Un Marin Au Jardin" line... My number one favourite is "Fresh Rose"... So this particular lotion is extremely moisturising (as are the others in this line), it is not very greasy, very emollient and silky. It absorbs in your skin very quickly and you feel the moisture all day long... The first time I noticed that these lotions work was when one day, around midnight, I was doing something on my PC and kept passing my left hand over my leg, saying to myself that it's odd that my skin feels so soft at this time. So I kept using the same lotion and it turned out that it really was due to it that my skin remained so moisturised at the end of them day. I really don't know how they do it, and for me - very few lotions are able to accomplish this. My legs are usually the driest part of my body, especially when it gets closer to winter. And it's not easy for me to find something that I can put on, coming out of the shower in the morning and be sure that it will last me all day. So this one really does it for me! I really don't know why it's called a get, because it still is creamy for me; it's just not as thick as a cream, and it's definitely not translucent in any way, so don't expect it to have a weird texture or anything like that... It just feels like a very light, non-greasy cream... My only wish for this lotion is that the scent would be a bit more kind of sharp and fresh citrusy, as opposed to sweet citrus... I personally prefer the more sour kind of citrus scent, when I go for citrus at all, but if you like a little sweeter version, then you will love this lotion, because it works very well. And another thing I forgot to mention. Don't be thrown off by the shape of the bottle, thinking that you'll waste a lot of product, not being able to get to the bottom of the container. It actually slides out of it perfectly, and I can honestly say that I use this cream almost to the last drop with no extra effort at all. Actually, I find that most "Yves Rocher"'s lotions and creams have that property. Maybe it's an ingredient that they use in their containers/packaging... I don't know anything about that, really. But everything I've used so far was never wasted, so this is a really big plus for all of us as well... So yes, would definitely recommend this cream... ;)

  • Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover
    9.0

Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

Works very well, very pleasant scent...

I am in love with many "Lancôme" products and this is one of them... I'll say right off the start that the only reason I'm giving this 9 stars is because I do find it very pricey, and those who are on a budget can get something of equal effectiveness for half the price... BUT! If you can afford this - you will love it!!! First of all, it smells heavenly... And it's oh so gentle on your eyes... You need very little for it to remove all of your make-up. And what I find surprising is that it removes even that stubborn eye liner residue between every single one of you lashes... I really don't know how it does this, but your eye are completely make-up free when you open your eyes... (I close my eyes when I'm taking the make-up off... Does everyone do this or just me? ...lol...) And I have to admit that I like it so much that sometimes I don't stop at my eyes, and actually do my whole face with it... It does feel a bit greasy at the end but the oil absorbs after a little while and just leaves my skin very soft and smelling like heaven... But I don't really know if this is beneficial for my skin or not, and try not to do it that often, especially since this product is so pricey... So yes, it does feel oily when you apply it, as is the case with most eye make-up removers I've tried, but it kind of feels like dry oil... You know those dry oils that you would usually apply to your hair? That's how this one feels... You don't feel greasy - just oily for a few minutes and then it gets absorbed by your skin leaving your eyes completely make-up free and the skin around your eyes perfectly moisturised... So if it's within your budget - go for it! I would definitely recommend it... ;)

  • L'Oreal Paris EverSleek Reparative Smoothing Shampoo
    10.0

L'Oreal Paris EverSleek Reparative Smoothing Shampoo

    Very clarifying, sulphate-free affordable shampoo...

I actually like this shampoo very much... Was pleasantly surprised to see an affordable sulphate-free shampoo at my local drug store, and I admire "L'Oréal" for coming out with this line... At my drug store this costs about $9, and you can get it on sale for about $6, which is unheard of, compared to Salon sulphate-free brands... This shampoo is clear. I completely disagree with "Natasha713" because it definitely lathered and I must say that it lathered very well. And since this is not a conditioning shampoo, you definitely need to condition your hair after using the shampoo, if you want your hair to be smooth and manageable. I recently toned my hair a bit, just to give it a little boost of colour and I'm always on a lookout for a good sulphate-free shampoo, because I know that this is one of the most important factors when it comes to preserving your hair colour and radiance... So after about two months of using this shampoo, my hair is still as radiant as it was when I toned it, there was practically no colour fading and I didn't find it especially drying or damaging in any way. I must say though that I do always condition my hair as well (with the same line), because I believe it to be equally important when it comes to healthy hair. This shampoo is completely clear and you will feel that it's a bit too liquidy when you first use it, but it's really easy to get used to the consistency. The scent is very pleasant... It doesn't smell fruity at all, but more of a clean, almost detergent like smell... I don't mean to say that your hair will smell like detergent - I just don't know how to describe the scent well... Kind of like detergent with a note of sophistication... ;) I really hope you can understand what I'm saying...lol... Basically it's not a fruity or floral scent... It washes out very clean and has a feel of a clarifying shampoo... And yes, I would definitely recommend this line... I've tried other shampoos in this line as well, and my sister is presently on her second bottle of the smoothing one, which she loves equally as much... So if you are on the fence about it - go for it! It's a good product and your hair will thank you for it... ;)

  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Fast Dry Nail Color
    6.0

Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Fast Dry Nail Color

    Despise the applicator...

I don't know what to say about this one... I have such mixed feelings about this line - I'm almost mad at it... This is one product that I have a love/hate relationship with... I mean I keep getting mad at it and not using it for a while, and then I'd be in a drug store and see another new amazing colour that "Sally Hansen" will come out will, and I'll say to myself: Maybe it wasn't all that bad. Let me just try it one more time... And again, I'll use it one or two times and stash it somewhere where I don't have to look at it and get upset for purchasing it... The reason I'm saying all this is that no matte how much I like the colours and the pigmentations of this polish - I just can't help but hate their applicator... I don't know what shape my nail would have to be in order for me to like it. And I got to tell you right away, that I have a pretty classically shaped nail... They are pretty long naturally, not too wide and not too thin... People actually complement me on the natural shape of my nail... I'm not bragging about them, but just trying to point out that I don't have really oddly shaped nails or anything like that. This applicator is just so thick and so stiff, plus it's kind of half square, half oval at the end... What I mean is that you can't call it oval, because the curve is rough, and so obviously you can't call it square either... Come on! I really like my nails to be neat, and this just messes them up every time I use it! Unless you take two hours to do your nails - I find it impossible to achieve a flawless look with this applicator. And I'm still giving this polish 6 stars, because the pigmentation is great, the drying time is great, so in case you happen to have a nail that goes with a thick oval/square applicator - you'll love this polish...

  • OPI Nail Lacquer
    10.0

    OPI Nail Lacquer

    Obviously! ;)

How can you not give this nail polish 10 stars??? Come on... This is one of very few brand which allows you to get away with one coat of even their palest colour!!! How many of us have tons of nail polishes in various hews of beige or pink pastel or off white, or any other nail colour, which we never use because we get tired of having to put a million coats and having to suffer through the drying time of every single one of them? Too many, if you ask me, and I'm definitely one of those people... It definitely took me a while to embark on the "OPI" wagon, because I didn't like the price, but once I did, I realized how much they are worth it, and I definitely never looked back... I don't want to list every colour I have because this polish is very true to colour: what you see in the bottle is really what you get. My latest favourite shade was their limited edition "Skyfall", but they are all superb... And like I said, very often you can get away with one coat, just because they are so amazingly pigmented. And everything is great about them... The texture is not too liquidy and not too thick, the applicator is perfect in size and firmness... Don't know what else we could possibly want from a good nail polish... I can't say that the staying power without a top coat is superior to other "good" polishes, but used with a top coat, they will last you for a good week with no chipping, and everyone will notice your nails. Not only the range of colours is endless, but they are also very vibrant... So yes, if you are not yet with us on this, get on with it! You'll love it!

  • Shiseido Facial Cotton
    10.0

    Shiseido Facial Cotton

    My favourites ones so far...

I honestly don't know why, but one day I decided to just spoil myself with these... There was just something about the matt packaging and "Shiseido", and maybe I was feeling a little down and I said to myself: Why not? We're worth it, right? And to no surprise I never regretted making this decision. These were by far the best cotton pads I tried up to date. I don't think I'd be buying them regularly, because of the price tag that come along, but I did like them very much. I remember when I was a bit younger, I didn't think that there could be a difference in quality between different brands of cotton pads, so when I saw them at the dollar store, I immediately bought three, because I told myself that three dollars was about what I would have spent at the drug store, except that I would have walked out with one pack. And I swear, I never even got to finish one of them, because they were terrible!!! I mean no one wants pieces of cotton in their nail polish, right? So my experience with "Shiseido" cotton pads was completely the opposite of the dollar store one. These cotton pads were just perfect. Not one string of cotton separating, very well absorbent, and they are patterned in such a way that you get a perfect amount of friction to allow you to remove your polish quickly, not having to spend two minutes on every nail. Just can't say anything bad about them at all. I only wish they were more affordable, so that more people would get a chance to try them and I could use them more often... Oh well... We can't have everything I guess... But if you can afford them - definitely go for it, because they are great1! ;)

  • Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss
    9.0

    Revlon Super Lustrous The Gloss

    Very good and not sticky...

In my opinion, there is nothing not to love about these glosses... I love the colour range, and for a drug store gloss - it's hard to beat... The sparkles are very fine, so the shine looks sophisticated and not cheap, as it sometimes does with drug store glosses, because the sparkles are bigger. And the price... At my local drug store these are $8.99 (on sale today for $3.99), so really, how can you beat that? Honestly, these, together with "Revlon"'s lustrous lipsticks and lip butter are some of my favourite products of all times. I got these in "Rosy Future" (260), and "Pango Peach" (245), and love both of them equally. "Rosy Future" is slightly darker than nude, and has a very pleasant glow to it. I also love the fact that the tube kind of narrows down at the top, so you never have too much gloss on the brush, which makes it much easier to apply and doesn't make you waste any of it as well. "Pango Peach" is a corally peachy/rose colour that give that look of innocence to you lips, and you feel like a little girl when you put this on. It's not a childish colour though - looks sophisticated and elegant on your lips - great for summer or winter... Now that I'm writing about these, I'm telling myself that I'll go back and get more of everything... Too good of a deal! The staying power is also surprisingly good, and you really don't have to reapply every 30 minutes... They have a very slight odour - not necessarily good or bad... It's hardly noticeable, but it's very slightly chemical. But honestly, most people would just say that they are odourless... I'm just a freak about these things and I've been told about it more than once, so this really shouldn't bother most people at all. Example, my boyfriend didn't smell anything at all when I made him smell it, and that's always a good news for us... So yes, would definitely recommend this to all with no hesitation at all... ;)

  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
    10.0

    Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

    What's not to love?

I really don't know how I can give less than 10 start to these lipsticks, if I take the colour choice and the price into consideration - it's almost impossible to beat... This line has what? 50 colours or so? I mean you are about 100% sure to find a colour you will fall in love with. And at my local drug store, they cost $8.99 (on sale this week for $3.99!!! - you don't want to know how many "Revlon" products I got today!!!), so how can you go wrong? So far I got these in: "Blushing Nude" (637), "Rose Velvet" (130), "Demure" (683) and "Rosedew" (407)... All of them are amazing but I still listed them in order of preference. They are smooth, not grainy at all, the creams are true creams, the pearls are true pearls, and I find all of them very true to colour - they are very very well pigmented. To me, they are absolutely odourless and tasteless. The tasteless part is a huge plus for me because I don't want to think that if my boyfriend were to kiss me on the lips, he would have to taste my lipstick (which I know he wouldn't like). And the staying power is above average, so they don't come off your lips too quickly or anything like that. Out of all the shades I got, my favourite one is "Blushing Nude" because it goes so well with my ash blonde hair and pale complexion. Very elegant and classy, without it being too much - love it! The other shades are gorgeous as well - no need to describe the colour because, like I said, what you see is what you get. I'm telling you, in my opinion there is just nothing not to like about them. I would buy all colours if I didn't have so many lip products already. And don't get my wrong, I love my "YSL" and "MAC" lipsticks, but this is an amazing drug store product non-the-less, and I very much and very assertively recommend these lipsticks to all! ;)

  • Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter
    9.0

    Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

How can you not love these?

I love these so much! It's really hard no to love this product from the moment you see it; I mean you fall in love just by looking at the packaging - too pretty!!! Okay, so I got these in: Pink Truffle (001), Peach Parfait (025) and Juicy Papaya (027). If I didn't have so many lip products already I would have gotten a few more of these but I truly have just too much stuff for my lips. And as it is already, I know I'll never get to use all of it, but I really couldn't resist getting a couple of these, hearing such good things about them... The first thing I immediately noticed when I opened the tube was the scent... They smell like candy - very sweet, but not in an overpowering way... Once it goes on your lips - you forget about it... Yes, they are buttery, but not too butter to the point that they feel greasy on your lips... On your lips, they feel very smooth and creamy... They actually slightly remind of the "L'Oréal"'s "ColorRiche" lipsticks, but they are a bit more grainy than "L'Oréal". The staying power is not amazing, so you do have to reapply every once in a while, but they feel very moisturising and it's a pleasure to wear them. And I love the fact that I don't need a mirror to apply them, because even if I go a bit over the edges of my lips, it's hardly noticeable, since the pigmentation is not that strong. So I listed the shades in the exact order of my preference... I liked "Pink Truffle" the most - it was just a perfect shade for my ash blonde hair and pale complexion... "Peach Parfait" is a bit more corally/rosy and has sparkled in it - very fun colour, and is especially good for summer, but I'll still wear it in the winter though... And "Juicy Papaya" comes off bright coral on my lips. Loved this colour very much, but I find that in order to wear it well, my lips would have to be in a perfect condition, which is not the case right now that it's getting really cold outside... This colour intensifies every little imperfection and definitely isn't for chapped lips, but the colour is still beautiful and will be loved and used! ;) So if you can find the colour you like (and they come in about 20 colours or so), then don't hesitate and go for it. I would and do recommend this product. ;)

  • CoverGirl Ink It Eyeliner
    9.0

    CoverGirl Ink It Eyeliner

Will last you for over 24 hours!!!

Oh my god!!! I'm definitely with "lovemyshoes" on the lasting power of these pencils!!! I've had exactly the same experience with these!!! Actually, this is one of those eye shadows that you should wear when you are sleeping over at your boyfriends' or something like that... Imagine yourself washing off your make up at nigh, revealing your "true self" ...lol... , looking at yourself in the washroom mirror before you come out and realizing that you actually don't look that bad, because your eyes are still pretty defined, even though you did wash your makeup off?... That's exactly what will happen unless you specifically go over your upper and bottom lashes a few times to make sure that you've gotten in-between every single lash. If you don't do that, it will look like you have your makeup off, but because you'll still have the liner in-between your lashes, your eyes will still look amazing!!! And I am by no means saying that all girls need to have their eye liner on in order to look amazing, but you know what I mean, right? We always look better with makeup on, but we should definitely be loved just as much when we don't have it on!!! ;) So with that being said, I have three of these: Black, Brown and Silver. I have to say right away, that my only con will be that the labels have completely come off the pencils, and I can no longer see the proper names for the colours... In any case, I use these very very often. They are amazing as liners, they are equally amazing on your waterline. And it's always hard to find a good pencil for your waterline - we all know it! And they are amazing to sort of brush over your lower lashes just in the outer corner of your eye, when I do a "smudged eye liner" look, because even with my "smudged eye liner" look I always want to define the outer corners of my eyes a bit more... If I were to have a wish for these pencils, I would wish for them not to dry AS quickly, so that I would get a chance to smudge them a bit more. As it is now, if I want a smudged look, I'll always use another pencil, because these don't give me enough time to blend. But if you like your pencil only slightly smudge, you'll be able to do it with these... Another thing I forgot to mention, is that if you like a very thin line, you won't be able to achieve it with these, unless you use a Q-tip or something like that to thin it out after you have applied it. These are not sharp; they kind of just twist out of this small tube and are about 2 mm. in diameter... I think 2 mm. is about 8/100 of an inch... Sorry, I'm not very good with inches, looked up the conversion online... This is as sharp as they get... But YES, definitely go for it, if you need a long lasting liner, and you want to have at least one of those reliable liners you can forget about for the whole day! ;)
