  • CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadows

I got a few of these on sale for $3.99 and ended up liking almost all of them. Some of the ones with lavender shades in them are not pigmented at all, but all the neutrals and darker colours are very good - not great but very very good. I'm saying "not great" because every trio's darkest colour has to be built if you are doing the smokey eye look. Otherwise the pigmentation is a bit weak, but still good for a drug store quality. "Shimmering Sands" is obviously the most popular one, and I did like it a lot. And would recommend "Cafe au Lait" to someone who's looking for an every day neutral look. Overall, very good shadows, especially for this price.

    CoverGirl Cheekers Blush

    Not good at all!

I absolutely disliked this blush. Got this in "Golden pink". I don't like pink blush and would have never guessed its name by looking at the colour. The colour is actually "terracotta". Really don't know who could ever see any hint of pink in it, but that's okay. The absolute worst thing is the scent! Very heavy vanilla/spice/musk/cedar. Just terrible. The texture is powdery, but the pigmentation is good. But the scent was the deal breaker for me. I had to give it away immediately because my make up drawer was beginning to saturate with that scent. So definitely a no-no for me, and would not recommend this to anyone. My friend actually had to wash her hands right after she swatched it because of the smell.

  • Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer

Definitely my favourite concealer of all times. I've been using this for about 8 years and love it! Every once in a blue moon, I'll try something else just out of curiosity or because someone will rave about it, but I always go back to this one. My skin tone is fair (with yellow undertones) and I use "Clair II". Definitely water proof, doesn't crease (I never go all the way up to my lower lash line though), and doesn't oxidise, so it doesn't turn yellow on you at the end of the day... Buildable and can be set with any kind of powder.

  • Maybelline New York Volum' Express The Mega Plush Waterproof Mascara

This is a very good mascara for those who have long lashes. I wouldn't recommend this brush to someone with short lashes because the brush is kind of "layered", so that the longer lashes get through the first layer of the brush and then the shorter ones get coated by the second layer. I don't know if I'm explaining this properly, but I think someone with shorter lashes should have a denser brush, because this could actually hurt them. But if you do have longer lashes and want some volume and definition without your lashes looking fake - this one's perfect!!! I use "Black" and "Blackest Brown" and love both of them equally.

  • Maybelline New York Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil

I find that the colour selection in these could be better, since the colour is not buildable. I used this in "blonde" and found it "cakey", when trying to build the color. If you can find a perfect match between the three colour available (at least here in Montreal), then you might be in luck, because when applied lightly, it looks natural enough and will definitely last all day. They are very lasting, which is definitely a pro. Unfortunately, I couldn't get this to work for me, so can't give this more than 6 stars.

  • Maybelline New York Lash Discovery Mini-Brush Washable Mascara

This truly is the holy grail of my mascaras. I just wish it was sold in more stores here in Montreal. I'm always having difficulties finding it. The bush is very thin (similar to Kevyn Aucoin); I think it's the only brush of this kind available at a drug store. It separates your lashes perfectly: no clumps, no mess, just perfect looking, well defined lashes. This mascara is perfect for someone who is not looking for extra volume or extreme length. It adds just a little bit of length, very little volume, but separates and defines your natural lashes in a way that no other drug store mascara will.

  • Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara

I have bought this mascara because of the brush, used it for a period of 30 days, every day, and it definitely works. I didn't expect to see any results because firstly, my lashes are pretty long naturally, and secondly I was happy with the brush, which was the reason I got it in the first place. Basically a few weeks after I started using it, people began to complement me on my lashes, and then I realized that it really works. Just give it a try for a month or so. Don't expect to see immediate results...

  • NYX Cosmetics Single Eye Shadow

I find that these single NYX shadow are almost perfect. I have many different shades and love all of them. The only ones that I sometimes have fallout with are the ones with glitter in them. But even that doesn't really bother me that much. If you really hate glitter on your face, just avoid the shades that have "glitter" in their names. Pigmentation is great; NYX's black is actually blacker than MAC's "Carbon black", so definitely worth the $5 or so that they cost.

  • E.L.F. Studio Cream Eyeshadow

It's a good cream eye shadow for the price, but I find that they are not very pigmented... I would recommend this shadow in "Dawn" for someone who is going for a very natural look and wants just a little bit of glow over their eye lid... The texture is very creamy and it blends well. I wouldn't recommend any dark shades of this shadow. Also, I know it shouldn't really matter but these shadows have an unpleasant smell, very chemical.

  • E.L.F. Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer

I honestly can't say anything negative about this primer. I've used 2 other high end primers and one other lower end (around $6) and if I could have a life time supply of these, I would never use anything else. I can't believe that it's only a $1. I own 3 different shades of "Essentials Eyelid Primer" and love all three of them equally. If you are looking to buy just one of them, I would recommend "Sheer", because it just has a perfect, slightly satiny finish.
