I hope Lancôme never stops making their "Dual Finish Versatile Powder Foundation," because I find it absolute perfection. It is superb for all year-wear and is so delicate that it is not every noticeable but just refines your skin. It was because of my love for this that I purchased their "Oscillation Powder Foundation." It comes in an ivory shade to match my skin perfectly. I assumed that Lancôme created it to give an "airbrushed" look to skin and was correct. Lancôme proclaims: "See a pixel-precise complexion with fourteen-hour wear. Never messy. Never so simple. Simply push the button and let the velvety cushion applicator glide effortlessly across skin for perfect coverage; 7000 micro-vibrations per minute break down the featherweight mineral powder for seamless blendability." I consider myself adept with makeup (I've had more than my share of practice!), but I had to keep reapplying powder to the applicator to get it to glide easily. The blush did not seem to work very fast or well at all--I would have much better results by applying it with a puff, sponge, or brush. There was a very messy fall-out of product, with tiny foundation particles imbedded in my clothing. I'm very surprised that this foundation is still for sale. It seems like a "gimmick" on Lancôme's part, and their products are so amazing that they don't need to resort to these.

I'm very pleased with this nail enamel. It is formulated without formaldehyde, toluene, or phthalates. I use a good base and top coats and this gives me a streakless, long-lasting finish!

I can't imagine what Sally Hansen puts in this powerful potion, but I use after polishing my nails and the color sets almost instantly. I don't have to worry about smudges or marks from things I touch. Love it!

I had heard so many glowing reports on Benefit's "Bo-ing" that I HAD to try it. It is industrial-strength, to be sure. It will stay put on an annoying blemish even without finishing powder and a sponge for help. However, I find it to be a bit too cakey and dry for under my eyes. I don't like to treat the skin harshly here at all, and I have to do so to make it disappear completely. So I have a love/hate relationship with this Benefit icon.

I'm incorporating more and more oils into my beauty regimen because of their effectiveness. A friend of mine has been complaining that her hair is completely "fried," and so when we were out shopping together we each bought a bottle of Alterna's "Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil Pure Treatment Oil." It is formulated without sulfates, phthalates, GMO's, Triclosan, and synthetic dyes. The scent is fabulous but subtle. The ingredients include Organic Bamboo Extract, which immediately boosts hair's strength and flexibility. Organic Kendi Oil maintains the hair's lipid layer and protects it from future damage by infusing it with the antioxidant Tocopherol and multiple fatty acids (3, 6, and 9). It sounds like it would be thick and weigh hair down, but I would recommend this for even the most fine, thin hair. This is a truly lightweight oil which repairs spit ends and deeply hydrates. A vivid shine is restored with this oil. It also contains a Color Hold® complex which extends the life of your color. Wow--we are both highly impressed!

Canyon Ranch "Your Transformation™" products have a great reputation. They are formulated with ProNAD,® a patented and penetrating form of Niacin (Vitamin B3). It is supposed to stimulate DNA repair and improve cell regeneration. Also included is Ceraplex,™ which locks in moisture to plump and firm skin. Antiox-3™ is a mix of three powerful antioxidants--blueberry, bearberry, and goji berry--which is supposed to protect all layers of skin and improve hyper-pigmentation. I tried their "Balance Light-Weight Moisturizer." While it smells nice and has a pleasant, silky feel, I did not see any exceptional benefits with this. I did not pay $56.00 for less than two ounces but reviewed it for a beauty site. It performs acceptably, but no better (and probably worse) than many drugstore products, especially Olay.

This concealer works pretty well. It does have enough substance to cover under-eye circles and blemishes (both the "Fair" and "Light" shades work for me). It stays put but absolutely does not cake or look artificial. For about $3.00, I wonder what makes me purchase high-price versions . . .

When I was reviewing products for another site, I was treated to a sample bag of LA Fresh travel wipes. I loved these oil-free face cleanser wipes, especially for the summer. But they make a huge array of products for women and men: Travel Lite™ "Anti-Bacterial Wipes," "Antiperspirant Wipes," "Shoe Shine Towelettes," "Feminine Hygiene Wipes," "Makeup Remover," "Male Hygiene Wipes(!)," "Minty Mitts" to keep teeth feeling fresh and cleaned, "Nail Polish Remover," and "Insect Repellent Towelettes." All are TSA-approved for travel. How cool is THAT?

I paid a lot for this spray ($27.00!), but I don't use spray often. The reason why I actually spent this much for a product you can purchase for a pittance? The scent is wonderful, unlike any spray I have tried before. It leaves my hair very shiny, with no white flakes. It holds it in place, but I can comb/brush through with no problems. Some products are worth the extra.

I've been enjoying "Erase Paste" for a few years now. I love the texture, but I mainly appreciate that it is a brightening camouflage. The "light" shade matches my complexion totally. Be sure to little enclosed spatula to keep the product contamination-free.
