This is a lightweight primer, available in five shades. A combination of a deep sea extract, rice bran, and a clay derivative prime the lid, making it a smooth, matte canvas for the products to follow. It keeps cream and powder shadow in place beautifully, with nary a smudge or crease; color remains true. The doe-foot applicator makes swiping it on easy! Even women with very oily eyelids will find this formula highly effective. While it is a bit on the expensive side, I buy it time and again. This has been touted a beauty "insider trick of the trade." Love it!

These come in playful, vivid colors, from indigo to turquoise and black with sparkles. I think the very thin applicator gives you maximum control over creating anything from a fine line to a wide cat eye!

When I was in fifth grade, my parents gave me a Revlon nail enamel as one of my Christmas gifts. I was stunned--this was an adult cosmetic! I did my nails religiously and love this formula still. Yes, I do appreciate OPI, Zoya, China Glaze, Essie, and Avon, but when I go to the drugstore and want a shade in ANY color which will apply easily, look glossy, and wear well, I reach for Revlon. It dries quickly and is reasonably priced. What else could you want?

I like the SPF factor in this tinted moisturizer. Also good is the selection of shades and the fact that it contains sodium hyaluronate, allantoin, and Vitamin C to nourish while it covers. It isn't heavy on my skin and does moisturize, but it's simply not great. My usual foundation, Lancôme's Dual Finish Versatile Powder Makeup, leaves me looking almost (emphasis on ALMOST) flawless (of course it's applied over another moisturizer). I find this unnecessary; when I leave the house, I reach for Lancôme (or another, depending on the season).

Sephora is truly offering a bargain with their "Ultra-Shine Lip Gloss" ($14.00). It comes in demure shades, like "Vintage Pink" (a muted rose) to "Golden Scarlet" (candied red with gold shimmer) and "Sweet Mauve Sparkling" (a vivid, glittering pinkish-purple). No matter what your taste is, there are several colors you'll love. The "shiny" finishes are just that--pure, sumptuous gloss. But Sephora offers "Shimmering" (opalescent) and "Reflex" finishes (ultra-opalescent and jewel-like). This gloss stays longer than you would ever expect one to remain in place (using a lip brush will help with wear and application). The feel is cushiony and buttery--never tacky or sticky. It has a soft, doe-foot applicator and a scent that is never overwhelming, just uplifting. So buy yourself one, two, or more for refreshing colors that will make you--and those whom you see--smile!

Much like Liz Earle, Eve Loom believes in using a pure muslin cloth to cleanse skin (I love that; the gentle fibers exfoliate in the most tender way while you use it). With the sleek, slick white packaging, I thought the cleanser would be puffs of white soufflé and was a little surprised that it looked more like Vick's VapoRub for colds. That's because this little powerhouse of a cleanser uses clove oil (a natural antiseptic for clear skin), eucalyptus oil to rid skin of toxins, Egyptian chamomile oil (to soften and sooth), cocoa butter (a wonderful emollient), and hops oils to tone skin. It's a rich, lush formula. Work in gently with the muslin in little circles (I suggest using upward motions on your skin always rather than downward). When you rinse, skin feel as clean as if you used Ivory Soap and water but is hydrated and velvety. I generally like a foaming cleanser, but this is exceptional.

In the last year, I've noted unwanted brown spots and redness on my once-porcelain skin. It upsets me. How much does it upset me? Everyone else (my husband included) claims that he sees nothing wrong, but I am obsessing. I tried wonderful concealers (including green to subdue the red, "Touche Eclat" from YSL and Dior's "Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer"), but they didn't address the problem to my satisfaction. Moreover, it was obvious that I had used some type of other product under my foundation once I had completed my makeup. I am grateful, very grateful, for It Cosmetic's "Neutralizing Correcting Cream." What It Cosmetics lacks in terms of numbers of cosmetics they produce they certainly make up for in quality (take, for instance, their "Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil" and the Heavenly "Vitality Lip Flush 4-in-1 Natural Aging Lipstick Stain" (I dare you to say that three times quickly). "Bye Bye Redness" is just as potent, just as amazing as their other products, and possibly even better. The cream comes in one shade (and one shade does fit all), designed specifically to eradicate any and all redness from skin. Goodbye and good riddance to Rosacea, blemishes, broken capillaries, brown spots, scars, sun damage, and every other imperfection imaginable. The lightweight formula glides on and blends easily and seamlessly (so important to keep a natural look). Get ready for a huge and welcome surprise: You are using a beauty treatment as well as a concealing product! This is rich in skin-loving ingredients, including Hydrolyzed Collagen, Aloe, Peptides, Avocado, Colloidal Oatmeal, Hyaluronic Acid, and even Hydrolyzed Silk! Your complexion will have a flawless and more youthful appearance. The cream does not cake or crease. You can apply it over cleansed skin, moisturizer and/or foundation for an all-day wear that simply won't budge. My porcelain look has returned. I initially balked at spending $32.00 for this, but now I can't go without it!

L'Oreal's "Superior Preference" is one of the best home hair colors available. It does indeed resist fading, has shine-extending conditioning, and leaves hair soft, manageable, and not "fried." I was completely surprised when I noted that some new brands recommend not coloring hair during your cycle or if you are considering becoming pregnant. What toxins must they contain?

You will very rarely find me without lip color on my mouth. It was one of the first cosmetics I ever used, after blush, and it made such an extreme positive difference in my appearance that I never venture to the supermarket or the local drugstore without it. My skin is very fair, and my natural lips leave me looking ghost-like. One can always find Tangee's "Color-Changing Lipstick" ($14.99, available at The Vermont Country Store) in my purse because nothing else compares to it. It becomes a flattering, tender pink/mauve on my mouth and nourishes lips, keeping them moist for long hours. (I've tried Chanel, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Tom Ford, Urban Decay, MAC, and every other brand available, but nothing has worked as well.) Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic's "OCC Lip Tar" ($18.00) seemed like a great alternative when I first saw it (though I love Tangee, I still love to experiment with new products), and so I bought it. It comes with a mini lip brush, conveniently packaged in a resealable pouch for travel. "Tar" isn't the appropriate word to describe the texture--it is quite smooth. It glides over lips easily, and just the tiniest amount is needed for coverage. OCC comes in a huge range of shades. There are demure hues such as "Hush" (antique bridal pink) and "Interlace" (the most pale cream peach), but they range to daring, dramatic shades not meant for the shy--like "Stalker" (a real, blue-based blood red) and "Hoochie" (extreme magenta). Before applying, lips should be "prepped" first with OCC's "Tar" in "Clear" or a good lip balm. The brush is necessary for two reasons--it makes for a defined, prettier pout, and it keeps the stain off fingers (I initially swept it on with a finger and had to use makeup remover to completely clear away the color). There is a gentle tinge of peppermint; that's because peppermint in an ingredient included as a natural antibacterial and anti-microbial agent (clever company!). Hemp oil adds moisture, but many women find this just a bit drying. That's easy enough to remedy--follow with a good, non-sticky topcoat. OCC's "Lip Tar" is great; it lasts forever. Don't be surprised if you still find a hint of tint on your mouth after a long day and night out. It is SUPER for those who need long-wearing, beautiful color.

This fragrance is oh-so-wonderful. Key notes are bergamot, water lily, lavender, jasmine, cool greens, and frosty musk. I delight in this from morning through the night.
