I had very high expectations from the hype I had heard about this. I used it for a long time and it did absolutely NOTHING to rid my skin of a few dark spots (and they're not very dark). I asked for a refund.

I find this a must-have in the summer to remove perspiration, chlorine, salt water, sand particles, and grime from my face instantly. It works all year 'round to keep makeup dewy and give you a refreshing mist. This is a must-have for every woman.

When I reviewed Mary Kay's Peach Satin Hands® Hand Smoothie® Hand Scrub, I mentioned that I first tried it at a Mary Kay party (I never miss one, even though I also purchase the products online). The representative first had us exfoliate our hands and then moisturize with Peach Satin Hands® Hand Cream. It smells delicious, even edible! Mary Kay uses petrolatum as an emollient, along with peach seed and apricot seed powder, Vitamin E, and glycerin. Never underestimate the power of glycerin ALONE to hydrate even the worst, dry, cut hands--it is the chief ingredient in the potent, magical O'Keeffe's "Working Hands" cream. I believe this cream hydrates deeply. One way I can tell is that water beads on my hands hours after using it. I apply liberally to arms, elbows, and feet. This is another jewel of a product from Mary Kay!

At the last Mary Kay party I intended, the representative had testers exfoliate their hands before doing anything else. I thought that was a bit unusual--I'm used to sitting down and trying the skin care and cosmetics. But Peach Satin Hands® Satin Smoothie® Hand Scrub removed dead, dry, dull skin and gave it an entirely new look and feel. We simply applied one to two pumps of the exfoliator and massaged well into hands, paying particular to dry spots under under our weddings rings and between fingers. Mary Kay uses polyethelene beads as a gentle way to remove the outer layer of skin. The scent is delicious; the feel is indescribable! I went on to purchase and re-purchase it many times; it is a staple in my bathroom.

Most NYX products are incredible, and this is one of them. This is an industrial-strength concealer, thicker than most brands, available in three finishes (white, white pearl, and flesh-toned color). This was created to increase the wear of shadows and maximize the intensity of pigments. It does that very well--colors become much more vibrant! I especially like the pearl finish; it adds a great glow.

When I was in first grade, my lips were very chapped after a harsh winter. My parents bought me Chapstick. I recall sitting with my grandmother. There was such comfort in the feel that I just rubbed it over and over my lips until I had used half of the tube! I love the fact that it has SPF protection. Yes, it is waxy, but when you apply it you know it will remain. It simply works. It works so well that it has become synonymous with lip balm--many of the women on this site refer to a balm as a "chapstick." That makes me smile.

NYX single shadows are spectacular! They are highly pigmented, apply and blend seamlessly, and wear a long time. I have some dramatic hues ("Frosted Ocean," deep blue, and "Exotic Green," a vivid shimmery green), but the subtle colors are just as awesome. I also love "My Favorite Color," a taupe-beige which serves as a base or mixes well with other shadows.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiner
Amazing, Flattering, Long-Lasting Liners
Physician's Formula has done it again with their "Custom Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner." Lose the guilt about purchasing a trio--it runs only about $10.95. The colors are available to enhance eye colors (for instance, "Glam Green Eyes" includes a beautiful pop of green, a dramatic amethyst, and dark charcoal). Three little tubs can be clasped together or taken apart, depending on what you want to do with them. They are highly pigmented and glide on very easily, even for those who are "all thumbs" with eyeliner (a much more cost-effective deal than buying MAC or another version). They are hypoallergenic, dermatologist-approved, and great for contact lens wearers, with no parabens or fragrance. They are long-wearing and smudge- and water-resistant for up to twenty-four hours. The micro glitter is subtle enough to just bring out the beauty of your own eyes. I tend to use my own liner brushes. You can build coverage, from a fine line to a dramatic "cat eye." The formula can be used under bottom lashes as well because of its ability to withstand time, perspiration, water, and wear. Consider layering the shades for a multitude of flattering looks. I would consider this a staple for women, a must-have bargain.

I didn't find Dove's "Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash with Nutrium Moisture" very exfoliating. The beads are large and not very effective. However, you don't have to worry about creating micro-tears in your skin and causing potential damage. It is extremely moisturizing and pleasant. If you are determined to exfoliate, use a pouf or loofah along with this. Hydrating ingredients include: Glycerin, soybean oil, sunflower seed oil, and hydrogenated soybean oil. Some would consider the scent strong--I enjoy it. I also enjoy washing with this. It lathers wells and skin is left hydrated, silky, and presentable for spring and summer clothing. There is a lovely, gentle sheen to my skin when I shower or bathe with this, and I receive a lot of compliments, especially from my husband.

I truly appreciate the fact that Yes to Carrots™' products are all-natural. They are paraben-, petroleum-, and phthalate-free. There is absolutely no testing on animals (yeah!), and a part of their profits are given to schools to plant school gardens. Coconut and olive oils, beeswax, jojoba seed and sunflower seed oils, shea butter, Vitamin E, orange peel extract, and pumpkin seed extract work overtime to keep lips pliable, buttery soft, and hydrated. The scents are enticing--and all of this, for less than $3.00!
