Skins of all types will appreciate this fragrance-free, pH-balanced cleanser. It works up a good lather despite being devoid of irritating foaming agents and full of good-for-you fruit oils that will nourish your skin without clogging your pores. It rinses perfectly clean without that "squeaky clean" feeling that you know is going to cause the itchies in a few hours. My skin happens to be extremely dry, and was taking a beating this winter (chapping, flakiness, overall itching and dullness) when I switched to this cleanser. Within about 10 days I was finally rid of those gross flakes of skin that were coming off my nose in drifts, and my skin felt comfortable. I have found my HG cleanser!

Need I say more? If I wasn't careful about not putting my hands to my mouth (to apply lip gloss with a finger, wipe away crumbs, etc.) I got a taste of this stuff, and it is potent and terrible. My boyfriend wouldn't go near me when this stuff was on my body, or after I'd used the matching body scrub. Plus it didn't absorb--leaving my skin greasy, not hydrated--and both my boyfriend and mom hated the smell.

This is, hands down, the best pencil eyeliner I have ever had the pleasure of using. 24/7 eye pencils' smooth, creamy formula glides on so easily even a shaky-handed klutz like me can apply a straight line. The colors are modern and fun, and there's also a traditional black and brown. These pencils are the ones I compare all others to. And yes, I keep my eyes open for other liners in spite of my love for the 24/7 liners, cause they're ridiculously, out-of-control expensive.

Origins Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Advanced Face Serum
Made me believe in serums
After trying many, many serums, I gave up on the idea completely, and suspected that they were invented by the ever-greedy beauty industry and marketed as something we "need" to add to our perfectly adequate skin care regimes. Then I met this serum, and it's been love ever since. I started using it two weeks ago, morning and night under moisturizer, on my dry, flaky, sensitive, rosacea-stricken skin and OMG: heaven. My facial redness is noticeably reduced and my skin feels much more comfortable. In spite of the moisture surge, I haven't experienced an uptick in blackheads on the fussy skin on my nose and chin. It's pricey, but all proceeds go to Dr. Weil's non-profit. Yay!

This toner's ingredients list reads like a who's who of nature's medicine cabinet, and Suki wisely omits alcohol from the formula. A light mist of this toner feels good while it lasts, but after three months of daily use I haven't noticed a difference in the look or feel of my skin. My one hope is that the antioxidants are doing something behind the scenes. Otherwise, not even the glass bottle makes this toner worth $26.

Skin Drink is the spinster aunt of Lush's moisturizer line. The other facial creams all smell fantastic, do wonderful things for your face, and are pricey. Skin Drink is relatively inexpensive and it doesn't smell pretty. All it does is moisturize. And it's brown. But it's fabulous for skin craving serious moisture. Sadly, it clogged the large pores on my nose and chin, so I can only use it on my cheeks. It soothes them, but I won't be repurchasing Skin Drink. Why buy a product you can use on only part of your face?

This lip gloss makes lips drip with shine; I've never seen anything like it in all my years of being obsessed with lip gloss. Also, Mirror Mirror lasts a reasonably long time for being so slick (non-tacky). It smells strongly of bananas, but I didn't notice a taste. I did, however, notice that it delivered on its promise to moisturize your lips. It's disappointing how few colors Mirror Mirror comes in, and how sheer each color is. I bought only one color, I'm Perfect (a sheer beige), and don't feel the need to buy more, as their sheerness renders them all too similar to one another.

It grieves me greatly to know that I am almost 27 years old and have only just now discovered the wonder that is Lipstick Queen. Poppy King can do no wrong, and her Saint Rouge lipstick is evidence of that. The snug lipstick case is pretty in gold and keeps the product fresh. The smooth formula adds just the right amount of color that lasts and lasts. You can layer the color for a darker look, too. Lips look moist and feel happy. Saint Rouge is one of those colors that looks good on everyone.

I apply Celestial after washing and toning my face and can count on waking up to soft, moisturized skin. Although Celestial smells a bit odd in the jar, you'll catch heavenly whiffs of vanilla as you smooth it on your grateful skin. It may seem spendy, but a little goes a long ways. (And do use only a very little; it can feel greasy.) Although my whole face is dry and flaky, my nose is also blackhead-prone. Celestial makes the blackheads ten times worse, so I can only use it on my cheeks and forehead.

I bought this mascara with the intention of it being my going out mascara. For that purpose, it's perfect. It makes my lashes, shiny and jet black and, with a little effort, makes them long and thick to boot. But I think I would go nuts if this was my every day mascara. For one thing, the results are so dramatic I wouldn't feel comfortable sporting it to work. For another, it clumps like crazy so lashes have to be brushed out with a separate brush. The wet formula means you need to sit for a solid minute or so waiting for your lashes to dry, otherwise it gets all over your eye area.
