I bought this serum after I finally accepted that facial scrubs were insufficient to exfoliate my dry, flaky skin. My skin's constant shedding caused blackheads on my nose and chin. Not only were manual scrubs ineffectual with the blackheads and flakes that caused them, they aggravated my rosacea. When I saw this chemical exfoliant, I decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. I used it according to the directions: seven days on and seven days off. Four days into my second round, I started to notice an improvement. By the time Round 2 was over, my blackheads were mostly gone and so was my skin's ruddiness. Even though I love this stuff, when my bottle runs out I'm going to try to find something that is similar, but less pricey.

I have struggled to hide the circles under my eyes since my high school boyfriend told me they were so dark they looked like "a second set of eyes." Finally--FINALLY!--I have found this, Clinique All About Eyes Concealer. The texture is so perfect you can't tell I'm wearing concealer, even at the end of the day, long after most other concealers had given up and settled into my fine lines or worn away. I purchased this in the lightest shade, Light Neutral. Others have said this color is too yellow, and at first I agreed. But I found that when blended correctly and used with my Bobbi Brown color corrector, the color is perfect.

I waite for nearly 27 years before I would touch bronzer with a 10-foot pole. I was terrified of becoming an orange, shimmering mess, or that bronzers would look like mud on my pale skin. I'm glad I tried this (in shade #1). The matte, finely-milled powder gives me a nice glow and I don't look like I'm wearing any makeup. I brush this under my cheekbones (for contouring) and then a little on my nose, forehead, and neck, so it looks even.

For starters, butter London is a misnomer. Although the founder is a Brit, the company is based out of Washington. And another thing: it stained my nails! I've never had a polish turn my nails yellow, and British Racing Green has made my poor talons look quite jaundiced, necessitating more nail polish to cover them while they grow out. Unlike Lippmann Collection and Pop Beauty's polishes, which back up their staggering price tags with an uber-high-quality product, butter London is average, and should cost half of what it does. I don't care how "high fashion" they claim to be, they're not better than China Glaze or OPI. The reason to buy butter London's lacquers is the colors. If you want to shell out for it, they offer a wonderful selection of fun, modern colors housed in a fashion-forward glass rectangle.

Nars Org*sm, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom--all have reached cult status, and with good reason. Zoya Anchor Basecoat deserves a spot next to these beauty icons. It grabs your nail and your polish and never lets go, but is obliging enough to rub off easily with nail polish remover. I had given up on base coats until this one was recommended. Application is smooeth(of both said product and the polish I layered on top of it), it dries quickly, and keeps my home manicure alive for about four days longer than I'm used to.

First of all, the picture is wrong. This product is packaged in a jar, so you have to dip your finger in before touching your eye area. Great. Second, it stings a little. I love that this stuff is relatively cheap for a prestige brand eye cream, and I'm going to finish my pot of it because 1) the gel formula absorbs instantly, 2) it moisturizes well, and 3) applying this over moisturizer mitigates the stinging without sacrificing efficacy.

There are so many great nail polish collections out there that work beautifully on hands and feet, I don't know why Piggy Polish was invented. It's not like toenails actually require a different type of polish. Moreover, the color selection is limited and none of the colors are particularly exciting. The bottles are lackluster at worst, and belong on a little girl's vanity at best. Polish junkie that I am, however, I picked up a bottle of this at Ulta to give it ago. The formula was streaky and poorly pigmented, and it chipped in less than a day.

I picked this up at Whole Foods after Paula Begoun recommended it. For one, she recommends very few toners, accusing almost all of but her own of being poorly formulated. Second, it was the cheapest of her toner recommendations. After a few weeks of using this, I'm on board with Paula. This toner smells good, feels good, and contains all sorts of goodies for skin, most importantly antioxidants. I spray it on a cotton pad and wipe my face with it after washing morning and night. I also like to treat myself to a blast of it during the day to refresh my skin, which can get red and hot by about lunch time. My only complaint is the clunky packaging which doesn't travel well or look good on the vanity.

If only all products were this well formulated and packaged. This hand cream absorbs immediately, leaving your hands super soft and comfortably moisturized without even a hint of greasiness. The SPF is a fantastic addition. It protects you hands from the sun (and therefore, wrinkles, skin cancer, and discoloration) without smelling like sunscreen. Hand Revival Therapy is loaded with antioxidants, which not only boosts the efficacy of the SPF, but fights free-radical damage. All this packaged in a slim tube that'll fit neatly in any purse.

After buying Blushing Bride, I went back to Sephora and picked up Tickled. I have very fair skin, and these two colors lit up my blue eyes and gave me a natural wash of color (I use Tarte Cheek Stain on my cheeks, forehead, and neck). Although they look super dark in the package they are so lightly pigmented it takes two layers of product to begin to show. In fact, my one complaint is that these could stand to be a bit darker. I love the fruity scent. The pretty, push-up package is fun to use and looks great on a vanity. I glide my fingers across the product and rub in. Its sheerness and blendability make it one of the easier cheek stains to work with.
