The environmentally savvy will appreciate the novelty that is Jungle: solid conditioner = no packaging. Also, it smells incredible. For my super short hair, all I have to do is get it wet and rub it on my hair when I'm in the shower. I let it absorb while I shave, and then rinse it out. It always leaves me hair soft and my conscience clear.

Most people have combination skin, which means that most people need this product. A mere two days after I started lathering up morning and night with this, my nose's blackhead production ceased and you could no longer see your reflection on my forehead. It also seems to have tamed the wild beast that is my rosacea without causing my cheeks to dry out. This cleanser generates a crisp, herb and lavendar-scented foam and rinses clean, taking makeup and oil with it.

Cosmetics companies keep rolling out supposedly long-lasting lipsticks and glosses when what we've needed all along is a lip primer. Too bad this one is it. It's formula feels thick and waxy on your lips, and the product in the tube gets grainier with each use. Forgivable sins if it works, but it doesn't. Lipstick stayed in the center of my bottom lip longer than usual, but the product along the edges of my lips was quickly worn away. Hang on to your money until something better comes along.

I rub this lotion all over my feet and then massage it into my calves when I'm feeling achy. It contains arnica, which is good for sore muscles. If it didn't smell so strong (good, but overwhelming), I'd use it for moisture and sore muscle relief all over. What annoys me is that Lush only offers it in a big tub. A little of this expensive product goes a long way, and I'd greatly appreciate a smaller option. Not only would it be more budget-friendly, but it makes sense for the product, which will probably go bad before I can use it all.

Dear Stila, Please get rid of your annoying click-pen-brush-thingy applicator. It takes a million and one clicks to get the product going, and then sometimes you get too much. It's impossible to control how much product you use, which wastes one of my favorite Stila products: Cherry Crush Stain. It makes my lips look like I've been eating cherries, and tricks my cheeks into thinking I've been dancing in meadows all day instead of slaving away in a cubicle. I can wear it alone or layer lipstick over it; when the lipstick wears off, I still have my just-bitten lips. It lasts longer than Posietint and the package is too cute. You just need to let go of the click-and-brush applicator and you'll have a perfect product on your hands.

Sandalwood makes this floral a good pick for date night. Most florals are at their best in the daytime, but YSL's Parisienne is too woodsy for the for the office. On me, the tartness of the blackberry was particularly apparent, and I was disappointed that the smell faded so quickly. The blah bottle is also a letdown.

I started using this seven years ago to dye my mousy brown hair copper. It's never fried my hair or resulted in a crazy color. Best of all, it played up my natural highlights. They discontinued the color I liked, and I've been unsatisfied with the replacements, which all look too bright and fake. Two weeks ago I decided to start dying my hair medium brown, and was very pleased with the color. Too bad it has since rinsed out. I will definitely be switching brands.

L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara
Keep q-tips and makeup remover handy when you apply this mascara
L'Oreal has been touting this product as revolutionary because it reaches and coats every lash. I'll give them that much. Telescope Explosion gave me long, nicely separated lashes that made my eyes look doe-y. I also applaud them for coming up with an inexpensive mascara that doesn't irritate my contacts or smudge, even after a long day at the office. The formula is too creamy, requiring that you follow application with an eyelash brush to unstick your lashes and get that nice separation L'Oreal promises. The tiny round brush makes application tricky until you get some practice. While I was applying mascara to my left eye (I'm right handed), I was so concentrated on accurate aim that I didn't notice the product was rubbing off the wand stem and onto my cheek.

"It's not the cream, it's your eye area, it's too dry," the BB saleswoman insisted as I squirmed in my chair, waiting for the stinging to subside. She loaded me up with samples, confident I'd return in a week to purchase the full size. Instead, I was treated to a full week of eye area pain, thanks to BB's vicious little cream. If it worked, I was too busy rubbing aloe around my brow bone to notice.

Although Pucci's roll-on perfume lacks the fun scarf print of the full-size, the scent is the same, and that's what counts, right? Vivara rolls on in a burst of crisp basil: it's a fun, unique fragrance (think swinging 60s without the patchouli) and lasts several hours before fading. On a personal note, most popular perfumes smell awful on me because I seem to bring out the licorice notes, even if they don't exist, but this one smells fantastic. Vivara would be good for someone on the prowl for a truly unique signature scent or someone like me who can't wear most perfumes.
