  • Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunscreen Spray

I have been a die hard fan of Neutrogena's sunblocks for years. They first impressed me with their "dry touch" lotion, but over the years I have really fallen in love with the sprays. These are so much easier to use and apply evenly, in my opinion, than a lotion in a squeeze tube. This one for use on wet skin is truly the best. My husband and I packed several cans of this to use on our honeymoon in Punta Cana. We are both fair skinned and knew we'd be spending a lot of time at the beach and next to the pool so we needed something reliable and you know what? Neither of us got a sunburn in the entire week and a half we were there. It's just so handy! We would apply to dry skin before we left the room, but we could also reapply on wet skin after a dip in the pool or the ocean--either way it protected us perfectly every time. I highly recommend this and will always, always buy it.

  • Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner
    10.0

    Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner

    New favorite toner

Olay used to make a toner that I absolutely loved but I stopped seeing it on the shelves years ago. Since then I've tried various others with only average, unimpressive results...until I gave this one a try. To be fair, I was already in love with Neutrogena's Pore Refining scrub (which I can't seem to find on here to review!), so I had a good feeling about trying this. This toner always cleans up any makeup or dirt left over after cleansing (this is also how I test how well a new cleanser is working) and never leaves my skin feeling too dry or tight. It doesn't make pores look smaller, at least not for me, but it does noticeably decrease the appearance of blackheads, and that alone makes it worth it for me! Plus, it's Neutrogena. It's a trustworthy brand name that you can always find just about anywhere. I don't remember what I paid for this at Target, but it wasn't expensive by any means and there's a lot in the bottle. In fact, that's my only complaint--the bottle is so tall it doesn't fit in my medicine cabinet! But getting a lot of product for not a lot of money is hardly a complaint. Obviously everyone's skin is different and will get a different result from the same product, but I think this one is definitely worth a try. I am not likely to run out for a long time, but I will definitely buy this again. And again and again for as long as they'll make it.

  • Orly Nail Polish
    6.0

    Orly Nail Polish

    Surprisingly durable

I have a bottle of Orly polish I bought on a whim probably 6 or 7 years ago. I don't know the shade name but it's a very cheerful bright pink that I have always loved except that it's sheer. I'm certain it's supposed to be sheer, but with patience I can get it to be mostly opaque in 4 (thin, so they'll dry) coats. What impresses me most about this polish is that I've had it for so many years and it is not even the tiniest bit dried out or clumpy. I still use it probably at least once or twice a year so it's not like it's never being opened, and the formula is still as perfect as the day I bought it. Otherwise, it's just an average nail polish. I don't have a lot of trouble with chipping, but I keep my nails very short and always use a base coat and a top coat, so most polishes take awhile to chip for me.

  • L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Triple Power Intensive Overnight Mask

I had a small sample of this that I pulled out of a magazine (jackpot!) but surprisingly that small sample lasted 3 days! I used it three days in a row to try to get maximum results, but I wasn't terribly impressed with it. It comes out looking like an average face cream and I found the scent pleasant. Not too overwhelming (but give it a sniff test if you're sensitive--my sense of smell is weak), kind of a light floral, nothing to chemical-y or anything like you sometimes get with beauty products. When I first put it on it definitely felt like a mask, like it was just sitting on top of my skin. I was a little worried about this since it's an overnight mask, but within just a couple minutes it had absorbed into my skin and felt so incredibly soft as if I had used a nice, high end moisturizer. Ultimately, moisture is what this product is best for. It's great for dry winter skin, but other than that I noticed no difference at all. Not after one night, and not after three. I don't believe this is a product I'll be buying in a full-size.

  • Nair Brazilian Spa Clay Shower Total Care Body Trio

I think I stared at this on the store shelf ten times before I was finally brave enough to buy it. I have just never had a lot of faith in the Nair brand name, but this set intrigued me so I finally decided to give it a try. First and foremost, it is noticeably less offensively smelly than pretty much every cream hair remover I've ever tried. That alone made it worth the purchase, I thought. It wasn't terribly messy to apply and I think I stood around reading a magazine while waiting the time for it to work (max 10 minutes, I think? I would have to look at the instructions again). I hopped in the shower hoping to just wipe off the hair with a wash cloth as advertised, but...it was not exactly like that. I apparently have some stubborn body hair because some came off, but plenty definitely didn't. But! I will say that even though I still had to shave to complete the hair removal process, the area was smoother than from shaving along, and this cream didn't sting or burn at all. I've been super lazy but one of these days I'll probably get this out and use it again (though I probably won't purchase again after I run out).

    Veet Rasera Bladeless Kit

Do they even still make this?

I remember trying this once several years ago. It may have been a long time ago, but I very distinctly remember exactly what happened. I tried to use it on my legs...and I RAN OUT. One entire can of product on ONE LEG. One. Granted, I am tall and have long-ish legs, but I'm not THAT tall and I know plenty of women who are taller. This product is clearly not meant for us. And I assure you I read the package carefully and followed the instructions closely--I did not use too much. On top of running out before I could do both legs, this stuff smelled awful and didn't even work very well. If it's still around I do no recommend buying it!!

  • Gillette Venus Divine Razor

This razor is exactly what you might expect if you're a regular user of the Gillette Venus products. It's better a closer and smoother shave than the original Venus razor, but not as great as the Venus Embrace.

  • Bikini Zone Medicated Gel

I don't use this regularly, because I don't normally have issues. But when I DO get irritating razor bumps it put a bit of this on the area and it definitely helps reduce irritation. The bumps are always still there and still red, but the discomfort is significantly decreased, and really that's good enough for me! The price is decent and really my biggest complaint is both tubes I've owned were difficult to open and close without having to squeeze the tube and make a mess in the process. I understand it's a medicated gel so it needs to have a safety cap, but it seems like there must be a better way!

  • Gillette Venus Satin Care Sensitive Skin Shave Gel

I've used this a few times here and there in the past, but it has never been my favorite. It's nice that it's not as heavily fragranced as a lot of the shaving products on the market, but I've never loved how thick these gels are. No matter how little I try to use, it seems like too much. The shave is smooth, but takes longer because I'm having to constantly rinse the gel off the razor. These products always claim to be moisturizing, but I get more moisture (but admittedly also more mess) shaving with a shower oil or cream.
