Tokidoki Gelato Tinted Lip Balm Stain

Tokidoki Gelato Tinted Lip Balm Stain

I know lip sticks are totally essential for some women but I'm really not a lipstick person. I'm not much of lip gloss person either... I just like lip balms and lip tints. This item is exactly a cross between a lip balm and a lip tint. There's enough color without the dryness lip tints can leave and I personally like this color, Donutella, because it's not in-your-face obvious but it still gives a nice light color.

  • C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint
    10.0

    C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint

    C.O. BIGELOW MENTHA LIP TINT

I will get this again, but not with a tint....Nothing has ever hydrated my lips this well. I am always battling chapped lips and this fixes them instantly!! Tastes great, good shine, cheap and the packaging is really cute. The tint is quite nice on me, I would just like to try this without the tint because it seems more universal. Great, great, great fantastic find. I love these lip tints. They stay on, taste and smell great and have a fantastic color. When I'm at work I don't want to go have to look in a mirror to put lip gloss on and thats why this is great - I know it goes on evenly and isn't a crazy amount of color. I went in to the store asking for my old color which was 1164 or something and this was the closest color. I have light-medium skin and medium lips and I think this color is beautiful. I for sure will repurchase. Well I have been a big fan of C O Bigelow lipglosses for a long time now, and I love all the flavors and tints. I love also when they come up with new flavors too! This color is so pretty too! These are the best glosses...they are shiny, love the applicator, they have decent staying power, go with everything you wear and whatever makeup colors, very moisturizing, the price is right too especially when they go on sale at Bath and Body Works! I simply cannot say enough about these glosses they are so great!

  • C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve Tin
    10.0

    C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve Tin

    C.O. BIGELOW ROSE SALVE

I have both this and the original Smith's Rose salve in fact I did a comparison of them on my blog. I love this. I think the formula is slightly better than Smith's because when I apply this at night, it is still protecting my lips in the morning. I sometimes get cold sores and this type of product is essential to keeping my sensitive lips moisturized when that happens. I use one or the other of them EVERY night before bed and the results are beautiful, soft lips. A lot of people say this is just glorified Vaseline. I disagree, it has rose extract which acts as an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant (beat that Vaseline). I have NEVER tried a better lip balm before these. There is one problem though. As much as I love the C. O. Bigelow balm, I can't get the tin open if I have the slightest bit of moisture on my hands. I think it gets worse during the winter with the cold temperatures but it's really obnoxious. That is why I went out to buy the Smith's salve which, by the way, opens like a dream. If C. O. Bigelow made this open-able this would be my HG product! I had heard great things about this product for years so when I finally spotted it at Bed Bath & Body Works I couldn't resist. I actually don't find that packaging difficult to open at all. I like the vintage looking tin, though it's important to always have clean fingers before reaching in! I like this for temporary moisture on my lips, but it's a winner for my cuticles! At first, I felt like it was too greasy on my fingers and was disappointed. But lately I have been using it just before bed massaged into my cuticles and even after the first night I noticed a difference! The subtle scent is beautiful. Because of the slightly greasy texture I wouldn't use it on my face as it recommend (it says for elbows, cuticles, lips, face, knees) My only gripe is that the product is very soft and easy to create a mess if you aren't careful... Overall I love it for my cuticles and *like* it for my lips. I would repurchase.

  • Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner

    Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner

    CLINIQUE BRUSH-ON CREAM LINER

This is a very good eyeliner. The brown is very dark but it's obviously not black. Will not budge once on so be careful when applying. I use this on my upper lid and still use yohl on the lower as I find this is too harsh under the eyes. Depends what look your after I suppose. Wouldn't recommend for water line though, would leave that to the pencils. I love, love this eyeliner! I had taken a break from cream eyeliners to save time in getting ready as I have little ones who don't give me much time! A few days ago I decided to give them a try again, so I opened my MAC fluidline & was shocked to find it all dried up and have had it about 6 months. Then I opened this Clinique one & it was smooth and creamy as the day I bought it! Big plus! The color is a nice dark brown that lasts all day on my upper lash line, not as long lasting on my waterline which is the only downside. The brush, like some others have mentioned is not that great, I use an angled brush and it works great. The consistency is smooth & creamy, gives you enough time to smudge it if you like before it sets, I sometimes have used it as a base & it goes really nicely with my dark brown eyes and dark hair. There are no sparkles or glitter either, it is just a basic dark brown everyday eyeliner. I def. recommend and will repurchase when it runs out. Yes. A lot easier than liquid for sure! Don't be scared ladies. Only took 2-3 times of use to feel completely comfortable with it. Experiment and you'll be rewarded. Very easy and versatile-I do cat eyes, thick 60s style and thin natural line depending on what I'm wearing and how I'm feeling that day and it's never disappointed me. Some people say that after awhile it dries up and that did happen after about 6 months of use, BUT if you put a drop or two of glycerine in the pot, stir with a toothpick and let it mix overnight (not sure if that's necessary but I thought it would help) the eyeliner is as creamy as you first bought it. Sure it might look a little funky, not as pretty and pressed, but it definitely works. Hands down the single best eyeliner I've ever used!!! Eyeliners have never lasted on me, even long-wearing and waterproof formulas. This stuff stays put from when I put it on until I wash it off. Once it's applied I never have to think about it! The deep brown color is perfect. Not too red, not too grey. It's dark but not so dark I may as well be wearing black. Perfect!

  • M.A.C. Fluidline

    M.A.C. Fluidline

    MAC FLUIDLINE

I love this stuff! It is water resistant but easy to wash off at the end of the day and you don't have those little chunks all over. It's soft and easy to work with and while the regular range is limited, the colors are good. Limited edition colors are often great, but once in a while the pigmentation can be below par but I'm not taking off for that. It is good for precise lines and winged/cat eyes and even as a base. Sometimes I hate having to use a separate brush but that's the nature of the product (in comparison to other types of eyeliner). I always keep coming back to this stuff! I feel like it doesn't dry out and maintains that gel consistency that is nice and soft. I do keep it stored upside down so I can see the color; I don't know if that matters. I think it's at a good price point b/c it is cheaper than a lot of dept. store liners and not outrageously priced. It is a big more than drugstore e/l but so far I haven't found anything there that beats this as far as consistency-that light gel almost 'whipped' texture. I like my liners to be soft and stay that way. I used to wear liquid liner on my upper lashline but after awhile of always having to "fix" or redo the line I gave up on liner. Whenever I get my makeup done at MAC they always use this liner on my lashline. After three makeovers (I always got distracted and bought the eyeshadows they used), I finally bought it and fell in love! I can line my lashline in one try. So long liquid liner! I have now bought all the colors from MAC Me Over and the new one from MAC Fall Collection. In love with these! I use the 210 brush to apply and it's so easy! Inglot and Mac fluidline make some awesome gel eyeliners. The quality is the same as the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner but I think the texture of the Inglot and Mac is smoother and less prone to drying out/cracking etc. Fluidline has slightly bulkier packaging (glass vial) vs inglots which feels like a light acrylic container. I bought dipdown (matte brown) which complements my pale skin/blonde hair. Black is good but for workwear I need a softer colour. no doubt the Mac blacktrack is just as superb in texture and pigmentation. I feel that Mac and Inglot do not last as long as the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliners and they smudge ever so slightly more but the difference to me is negligible. If you are price-conscious try the Inglot eyeliners first - to me they are EXACTLY the same quality. If I was to do a blind test I am sure people would not be able to tell the difference between the two. Most eyeliners that I've tried fades off or smears somewhere on my face. This eyeliner stayed put on my eyes and the color didn't fade. The only down side of this product is that you have to warm up the liner on the back of your hand for a bit because it's hard to swipe it onto your lids (but that happens with most make up, the need for warming up process). I would highly recommend this is your an everyday all day eyeliner wearing person.

  • Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color
    10.0

Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color

MAYBELLINE NEW YORK COLOR SENSATIONAL LIPCOLOR

I'm amazed that I'm so late discovering Maybelline's lipsticks. I bought two this weekend - Dusty Rose, from the Color Sensational range, and Pure Plum, from the Moisture Extreme range, and am super-satisfied with both. Great quality, lasts four or five hours at a stretch, does not feather, and fades gracefully. I originally paid a visit to the MAC store and then just got annoyed by their usual pale, western colours that make olive-skinned South Asian women like myself look like we have pneumonia. I've fallen prey to these shades before, and have several very expensive MAC lipsticks lying around that I'm simply unable to use. I moved on to the Maybelline counter and discovered that Maybelline sells its lipsticks at ONE-FIFTH the price of MAC, their range of colours is far more exciting and experimental, and the quality of their stuff is very satisfying. I've also discovered that these lipsticks are truly moisturising and do not dry out your lips at the end of the day, unlike many other brands. Will recommend and repurchase without a doubt. I love this lipstick! it has so many colors to choose from but right now i only have 'make me pink'. the formula is creamy and not too sticky. stays on for quite a while and if you like matte lipstick but not dry, this is for you. it gives a tiny bit of shine without looking too wet. the price is good for the quality of the product and the packaging is cute! the only thing is that the silver part of the tube came out of the bottom but i just screwed it back on. i will definitely buy many more of these! The best shades are Pink Please and Born With It. The other shades don't impress me. I don't get why Pink Please was discontinued because frankly it was the best pink ever. And it sold pretty well. The people at Maybelline are dumb. Born with it is good but the shimmer just annoys me. The other pinks in the Color Sensational line is just bah- too dark. What Maybelline and others need to have is a nice pink nude, no shimmer or anything. Just a nice creamy pink nude or nude brown. Cause this is what customers want. Look at Rimmel's Moisture Renew lipstick in nude delight, its the best selling shade cause its just such a beautiful nude.

  • Maybelline New York Lash Stylist Washable Mascara
    10.0

Maybelline New York Lash Stylist Washable Mascara

    Maybelline Lash Stylist Mascara

I have to agree it's a very good mascara. I've stayed away from Maybelline for a while in favor of more expensive department-store brands, but ever since I started working from home and I don't have to put makeup on every day, the thought of spending $30+ for a tube of something I'll use twice a week and then throw away after three months just wasn't as justifiable. The applicator is unusual, and you have to get used to it. Once you do, however, you'll see that it's useful in ways a regular wand wouldn't be, like applying a very even coat and separating your lashes. I have noticed it may clump if the previous coat dries too much before you put the next coat on, but nothing that a little practice wouldn't help. There is literally nothing I find more trashy-looking than clumpy mascara, and once I've figured out the method, I can happily report my lashes being clump-free every time I've used the Lash Stylist. It lasts all day, too, even in the ridiculously humid Houston climate. I bought it on amazon, for about $10 for two tubes of brown-black. Would definitely buy it again, if anyone still sells it a few months from now. I refuse to leave the house without mascara, and I have searched high and low for ten years to find the best mascara to volumize my thin, short eyelashes. This is the absolute best mascara I have ever used!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it's discontinued. I still order it online where I can find it because no other mascara, cheap or expensive, has ever come close to being as great. It separates lashes, volumizes, and adds length. It's essentially perfect. Please bring it back, Maybelline! This is the best mascara I've ever had and I've tried Lancome, YSL, Rimmel, Dior, Clinique, Estee Lauder ... just to name a few. I can't tell how upset I was a couple of weeks ago when I realised this product had been discontinued. :-( It's the first mascara ever that I didn't need to use a lash curler, it curled, lifted my lashes and gave an awesome volume. Never flaked, never smudged, lasted long - the best mascara ever hands down. I can't believe it's gone, I don't know what I'll use now since no other mascara HE or LE/DS can't compare to this one. I used this mascara for the first time at a friend's house.. I fell in LOVE with it.. This and diorshow are my HG mascaras, but they both are for different reasons. Now diorshow is all-over thickening, but this one is LENGTH and thick length. I bought the waterproof when I went on vacation and when I came back I went to buy the normal one but they discontinued it and it was nowhere to be found! Rimmel's comb-mascara comes nowhere near to this one, so now I just use the Lash Stylist brush in other mascara tubes, haha! I recommend doing this if you love this mascara, there are enough other mascaras with the same consistency and same opening-size that'll fit right in!

  • China Glaze Nail Lacquer with Hardeners

China Glaze Nail Lacquer with Hardeners

CHINA GLAZE NAIL LACQUER WITH HARDENERS

China Glaze is the polish that started my addiction. I bought a bottle of the Flash Forward topcoat by accident and that was it I was hooked. I have very thin, very peely nails and the hardeners in the China Glaze polish make all the difference for me. They leave my nails feeling like acrylics which I love. I almost never have problems with chipping as long as I wrap the tips. I wear polish for about a week or so. I could go longer but I don't like to see the growth and well, I'll be honest...I get bored! I do use other polish but my absolute favorite is still China Glaze! I've been playing around with polishes for a few months now, and I have to say that China Glaze is the best brand I've tried so far. I get no chipping for days (this is an accomplishment for me) when I use along with Essie First Base and Rock topcoat. I feel like China Glaze polishes dry faster and harder than either OPI or Essie. If there's one major issue I have with this line, it's that certain colors (especially flatter, pastel-y cream colors like For Audrey) have a strange sort of goopy consistency. When I try adding nail polish thinner, it just becomes a thinner kind of goopy. I've had better luck with sheers/jellies and glitters. China Glaze Nail Polish is found at Sally Beauty Supply as well as online. They have a huge range of colors and finishes and release new collections four to six times a year, I believe. Newer CG polishes are B3F which can make them gloopy but a little bit of polish thinner helps that. (As a side note, the formulation is getting better since they went B3F a few years ago.) Older CGs have a better formula and are easier to work with. I've had no problems with wear time and usually get a full five days out of any polish with Seche Vite over the top. Some of the colors dry extremely slowly on their own but with SV drying time is about 1/2 hour to rock hard. China Glaze is my Holy Grail go-to polish right up there with my other HG - OPI - and I plan on adding many more to my collection and would definitely recommend this line.

  • Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Colour
    10.0

Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Colour

LAURA MERCIER METALLIC CREME EYE COLOUR

In creme shadow land, this is the Queen Bee. There are several other brands that do a decent creme shadow - NARS, BB, MAC, Benefit all come to mind. However, each of those brands have their issues. Some crease, some are too dry and hard to work with or blend. Not LM, the formula is light and creamy and goes on with a swipe of a finger. The application is effortless - you don't even need a brush. Yes, the tube looks small, but there is a ton of product there. If you used it everyday, I doubt you would run out in a year. The shade Alloy is perfection - a taupe with a lovely subtle sheen. If you are in the market for a new creme eyeshadow in taupe, give this one a try. A gorgeous mauve/ taupe cream shadow that DOESN'T crease!!!. It has a metallic finish, but it isn't over the top, it looks very sophisticated and can be worn during the day if sheered out. I love the way this compliments my blue eyes, it's very pretty and wears beautifully on me for a good 8 hours. A very expensive little tube, but a tiny amount covers both eyes so it will last and last. Very impressed with this product from Laura Mercier. This is very nice. The color is a beautiful twinkly taupe that I bet would look great on every eye color (i have dark brown eyes). It has a soft, silky, creamy texture, and a little goes a long way. I think this little tube will last me a while even though I am planning to use this as my every day eyeshadow. It looks just beautiful on my lids. I am planning to repurchase. I am now curious in the rose gold color as well. Why did I not try this sooner?? I do wish they would make a set of all of these in mini tubes for those of those who are indecisive, or interested in trying all the shades. I first discovered the metallic creme eye colour watching the Pixiwoo Nicole Sherzinger make up tutorial, they used burnished copper. So off I went to get burnished copper but instead came home with alloy. I am a NW20 with blue eyes and this makes my eyes look really blue. I wear it applied with my finger during the day and with a brush for a stronger look. It really lasts and the finish is lovely. I will definately be purchasing burnished copper next. On the whole, I am never disappointed with LM.

  • Laura Mercier Foundation Powder
    10.0

    Laura Mercier Foundation Powder

    LAURA MERCIER FOUNDATION POWDER

A few years ago I was searching for the perfect tinted moisturizer and powder combination. This powder gave a bit of extra coverage to the light weight foundations I tended to apply. Also didn't settle into pores or fine lines. Used on my t-zone with kabuki brush or sponge applicator provided. Afterward I lightly mist to prevent a cakey/powdery look. I avoided shade No. 2 because I feared it would play-up my skin's pinkness, and used No. 1 in winter and No. 3 in summer. Overall I like this product and it performed as intended. Seems more suited to oily-normal skin types, and now I prefer more of a dewy finish than this allows. I have been using this foundation ever since I saw my friends skin with it on. I love it! Yes it is expensive however I have oily skin and I only need to apply it in the morning and I don't have to worry about shine for the rest of the day! So given that I only use it once a day it lasts for a while. I just makes your skin look flawless. I also use cover girl liquid foundation underneath it so that probably helps make it really stay on. Love it and wouldn't use any other powder! Trust me I've tried them all! This powder is totally an HG for me. I discovered this last April after a Mac powder broke me out. My mother had bought this powder for herself, but gave it to me to see if it would help with my skin issues. There are just not enough good adjectives to describe how great this product is. For a powder foundation, the coverage is amazing and it has a really good staying powder on my combo skin. When my skin gets oily, rather than making me look shiny, this product makes my skin look like its glowing. This powder feels comfortable on my face and doesn't make me look chalky or too powdered. I use it dry and buff it into my face over concealer with a fairly dense kabuki brush (aka Mac 182). Various friends and family members of mine have more than once commented on how flawless my face looks whenever I wear this product. Another great plus is that this powder lasted me through an entire 6 months of everyday use!! I am now on my second compact, and will continue to buy it if it continues to be this amazing. I'm an NC25 in MAC, and got this powder in No 3, and I feel like it matches perfectly. The powder is very finely milled, and is so soft. My boyfriend even complements me on having a soft face! If a boyfriend notices, you girls know it's major! haha The staying power of this powder is great, and I have oily skin. I've even made it through a day of classes and afternoon lacrosse practices, in the south Florida heat and humidity, in the summer! That's impressive to me! I apply this with my Ecotools bronzer brush, and it gives me full coverage. I've found that swirling a brush in this compact does tend to kick up a bit of powder. I just tap the top of my brush into the powder and press it in without swirling and it gets me plenty of powder to apply.
