  • Nivea A Kiss of Moisture Essential Lip Care

I like this lip balm. The thing is, I only got to use it for like 2 weeks until I mistakenly left it in my pocket and threw it in the wash then dryer. It basically evaporated the poor balm, leaving but an empty yet cheery bright blue semi-translucent shell. Okay it moisturizes crazy well, and has SPF. It doesn't make your lips white like Nivea's Kiss of Protection balm. It's also cheap and lasts a long while, from what I can tell. Has a nice faint scent but no taste--thank goodness. The package is cute, and a welcome change for your typical lip balm. The tube is a little big, but that just means more product for me!

  • Aveda Confixor Liquid Gel
    9.0

    Aveda Confixor Liquid Gel

    Aveda does it again!

This gel smells nice, and provides a medium hold with no flaking. I use it to hold my hair when I put it into various configurations while sleeping, then wake up and take down my hair and shake it out. It's not crunchy, and holds for the entire day. I just wish it had SPF as added protection like Paul Mitchell products, but it also conditions hair. You get a big bottle for a reasonable price--for a salon item. Mines lasted me a few months, and I use it every weekday. It's also great for adding volume when you're blow drying your hair straight, and keeps frizz at bay. Also, if you want to revive your style after work or whatever just wet your hands a bit and comb it through your hair. It also revives the scent! Every time I take a shower at the end of the day, I can smell the gel coming back to life...which is scary, but cool. Plus, Aveda's business ethics are amazing.

  • Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage Thickening Conditioner
    8.0

Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage Thickening Conditioner

Light conditioner for hair that needs a boost.

I like this conditioner because it doesn't weigh down your hair, so it's great for fine hair. It moisturizes well, too, and keeps my long hair tangle-free. Don't use it expecting deep moisturizing! It also doesn't add build up to my hair and smells nice, and a little goes a long way. The price is great for a salon product, and it keeps my hair shiny, light, and healthy.

  • Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage Thickening Shampoo

Ok first, the pros. This is a very affordable shampoo and conditioner duo from a salon brand, unlike other brands such as Ojon. The scent is herbal and lemon, very nice but not overtly artificial or cloying. Lingers on your hair for a small bit, which is nice. It suds up fine, and just nickel-sized problems is enough to wash all of my waist-length hair. It doesn't dry out your hair but don't expect it to add a lot of moisture. It cleans my hair great and keeps my long hair in tip-top condition. It adds a little body, and doesn't weigh down your hair but don't be expecting too much in terms of thickening. I really like this shampoo, and would recommend it to anyone.

  • The Body Shop White Musk Home Fragrance Oil

This home fragrance oil goes in any oil burner, and it makes the room it is in smell for the entire day. Only 5 drops is needed each time you use it, so it is a great deal! You can customize the concentration to your liking. Plus, The Body Shop has these babies on sale occasionally. (I got mines for $1) White Musk is a nice floral scent that is mellow but not too mellow. If you like florals, you'll like this.

  • Aveda Total Face Envirometal Compact

This is a great item. It's made out of recycled metal and can be re-recycled if you ever don't want to use it anymore. The magnet that holds the pans to the compact is strong but not too strong that it would be difficult to change them. It's durable and comes with a mini blush and eyeshadow brush, along with a little liner that you place on top of the makeup to keep the brushes out of the pans until ready to use--so it can hold both makeup AND brushes for the makeup. The mirror is big and the pan can hold a foundation/power, a blush, and 2 eyeshadows from Aveda. (Or 2 powers, or 2 powders+2 blushes, or 6 eyeshadows etc etc) It is very customizable and is great to carry around all that you need. The only thing to watch out for is there are some little ventilation holes located on the back of the compact so any moisture on the pans transferred there from your face can escape, and some powder might leak out. So keep this baby in a separate pouch of its own so you don't mess up the inside of your bag!

  • Smashbox Cream Eye Liner
    4.0

    Smashbox Cream Eye Liner

    I'm melting, I'm meeeeelting.

I usually love cream/gel liners. Easier to use than a liquid but no need to sharpen it like a pencil. Also, they tend to last as long as liquids, too. I got this as part of a combination at Smashbox, so it wasn't that expensive. The colours came on nice and it's hard to mess up. You can leave it a neat line or smudge it for a smokey effect if desired. You get a lot in the little pot, too, so the product itself is sure to last a long while. That ends the positive things about this product. If you do not have very dry skin or use a primer+foundation+powder, it will smear, smudge, melt, and all sorts of nasty things. It won't even last an hour, and that's if you do the recommended amount of drying time. (I don't have time to stand stark still for a few minutes) This product is baaad. Skip it.

  • The Body Shop Almond Home Fragrance Oil

I love The Body Shop. No, really. I do. Their ethics are great and their products are quality. Also, they are cheaper than some other boutique natural brands out there. I love their electric oil burner cause it makes your room smell whatever fragrance you put in it for the entire day. (Plus, I don't have the danger of burning down my home) Unfortunately, this fragrance is awful. It's an overpowering, pungent almond odor. Not on the toasted almonds level, nor on the grocery store almond extract level. It's like my room was bathed in the highest concentration of pure almond extract. I do not recommend this to anyone unless they enjoy almonds that much. It does last a long time though, the product and the smell. (In this case, it is a negative aspect) It is also pretty cheap, so I guess that's a plus.

  • mark Self Sanctuary Scent Mist

I got this in lemon sugar and wow does it smell sweet and nice. I would recommend it for laid back daytime activities because it is not too overbearing. It lasts throughout the day and is pretty cheap. I don't know about the moisturizing claim, but its a great body spray.

  • Aveda Firmata Firm Hold Hair Spray

I really wanted to like this, I really did! But unfortunately, it failed me. It smells great, very earthy like other Aveda products. I use this to keep my waves, which it fails miserably at. I have to spray on a lot to only get a minimum amount of hold, which means it does about nothing besides make my hair smell good and wasting a lot of product--and with something that's about $14 for 9 oz, is not a good thing. It does not have SPF for protecting like Paul Mitchell products, but it doesn't make my hair crispy or damaged...I guess. It works way better for updos or styles that have clips and things, not so much for hair that is let down. For hair that is put up, it stays all day long but you feel like you still need to spray a lot on to get the hold you get with traditional hairsprays. Bleck.
