Bumble and Bumble Super Rich Conditioner

    Extra Nourishing Conditioner

I bought this after trying just about every other conditioner from Bumble and Bumble (since I like trying new things). This isn't the ideal conditioner for my fine, oil-prone hair, but it still serves its purpose for me. I think this would be perfect for someone with thick and/or coarse hair that tends to get dry. Despite not having that type of hair, this conditioner has still done me quite well. I use this on days that I use a clarifying shampoo like Bumble and Bumble's Sunday Shampoo, or Lush's BIG Shampoo. This does an excellent job of nourishing my hair so that it is still easy to manage after being stripped of all its oil. A little of this goes a long way, especially if you are like me and concentrate the product on the lower half of your hair. After working this into my hair and letting it sit for a couple minutes in the shower, it is easy to comb through, both in the shower and after I get out. This, like most Bumble and Bumble products smells divine. The scent lingers a bit too. My boyfriend usually comments on how nice my hair smells on the days that I use this conditioner. Although not an every day conditioner for my fine hair, this has worked wonders as a repairing conditioner used about once a week. You really can't go wrong with anything from Bumble and Bumble. Such an amazing range!

    Laura Mercier Face Polish

    Nice Exfoliating Daily Cleanser

I have been on the hunt for a great daily cleanser that has some gentle physical exfoliators in it and this is definitely a contender. I received a deluxe sample of this in a set and have enjoyed using this in the mornings. The exfoliating beads are very fine so they don't tear up my skin. Still, this leaves my skin feeling really smooth and soft which helps my moisturizer and makeup go on easier. This is the first Laura Mercier skincare product I have used and I am impressed. I love her makeup but this product makes me want to look more into more of her skincare. I have combination skin that can be a bit sensitive and this works great. I don't know why, but finding cleansers with exfoliators that are gentle enough to use every day (or almost every day) is actually quite difficult. Many are too harsh or require you to wash your face first. I love that this is a gentle, one step cleansing and exfoliating product that does not strip my skin. I took a couple stars off because of the high price point. I'd love to find something a bit less expensive for every day use.

  • Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser

I purchased this cleanser for use mainly in the mornings. I wanted something that would thoroughly cleanse and provide some light exfoliation. This does a great job at both. I researched a lot of options for this type of product before deciding on Kiehl's. It can be difficult to find a cleanser and exfoliator in one (most physical exfoliators are meant for use on already cleansed skin) that is gentle enough for everyday use. More companies should be making cleansers like this one. This cleanser is quite nice to use. It spreads over my face easily and the exfoliating beads in it are very fine. It doesn't feel like this is tearing up my skin at all like some other exfoliating products have. This is unscented too so it is good for those who have sensitive skin in that respect. For a cream cleanser, this is also surprisingly easy to rinse off. When I'm done, my skin feels super smooth and refreshed, but not tight or too dry. My makeup goes on smoother as well, which is part of why I really love this for the mornings. I wouldn't use this with the Clarisonic because of the exfoliating particles. This is another winner from Kiehl's!

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye

Covers so well and lasts all day

I got a small tube of this as part of a gift with purchase in the shade medium. Originally, I was disappointed to receive the medium color because I am fair skinned and want a light concealer for under my eyes. However, the medium shade does work quite well on me. This is an amazing under eye concealer. A little goes a LONG way. Even though this is a thicker consistency and provides heavy coverage, it spreads easily on the delicate skin under the eyes and does not feel heavy at all. This lasts all day without creasing or settling into any fine lines around my eyes. I have been using a combination of corrector followed by concealer for my dark circles, but this one product acts as a corrector and concealer in one. Because this is a two-in-one product and also such a concentrated product, this is an amazing value for money. I have been using my trial size tube just about everyday for a month and I still have plenty left. The tube design is another major plus for me. The squeeze tube makes is extremely easy to get just the right amount of product. It is also more sanitary than a pot because I don't have to touch it with my finger or a brush. I had to knock off two stars though for two major reasons. First is the limited color selection. They only make this in four shades. The medium color works, but I am interested in the lightest shade for a more brightening affect under the eyes. The second is the limited availability/access of this brand in stores. I am only able to buy this online which means that I cannot test out the lighter shade I am interested in. I'd hate to spend over $20 on a concealer, have it be too light and not be able to return it. Other than those two issues, I think this is worth a try if you can get a sample or have a store near you that carries this. It is truly a unique and effective product for those that suffer from dark circles.

  • Eucerin Intensive Repair Very Dry Skin Lotion

Eucerin Intensive Repair Very Dry Skin Lotion

    Great for Dry, Sensitive Skin

I purchased this on a recommendation from my dermatologist for my dry, itchy, sensitive skin on my legs. I have a mild case of eczema on my legs and this has helped so much. I apply this once I have toweled off after a shower and it absorbs into my skin fairly quickly. Because this is completely fragrance free, it will not irritate those with sensitive skin and/or allergies. This is also nice because it won't interfere with other perfumes you may wear. My one morning application of this lotion keeps my legs hydrated all day long. This, combined with a moisturizing, non scented body wash has been such a relief for my dry, irritated legs. The unsightly bumps I used to have on my legs are gone. Eucerin is an inexpensive brand and a little of this lotion goes a long way making this a great value for money. I often see coupons for Eucerin as well, making it even less expensive. For me, this is a daily essential and one I will continue to purchase.

    MAC 109 Small Contour Brush

Love this brush so much that I have two!

I love this versatile brush from MAC. I use this for contouring, like the name suggests, but I also have a second brush for blush and highlighter. The shape of this is great because it is small enough to get a precise contour and blush effect, but it is also big enough for easy blending. The brush grabs powder products very well too. I have had both of brushes several years and they have held up very nicely to everyday use. I only give this brush nine stars instead of ten, because very once in a while, my brushes shed a hair, which is really annoying when you are doing your makeup in a hurry. Other than the occasional shedding, I think this is a fantastic brush that just about anyone could use in their collection.

  • Elemental Herbology Facial Detox

I got a deluxe sample of this mask in a beauty box and have enjoyed using this about once a week. This is quick and easy to apply and only needs to be left on 10 minutes. This mask dries completely in the 10 minutes it takes, but it does not get overly tight or uncomfortable at all. For a clay type mask, this is also fairly easy to remove. This leaves my skin soft and refreshed, but doesn't do anything spectacular. My face doesn't feel especially purged of anything, like the "facial detox" name implies. I prefer Ahava's mud mask, which costs less, takes less time and does a better job at drawing out impurities from my skin. Lush's Mask of Magnaminty also does a better job for a cheaper price. I will use up the remainder of my sample, but I would not purchase this. I think with the abundance of clay/mud masks available, there are more effective options than this.

  • Olay Regenerist Intensive Repair Treatment

Like several others, I was sent this to review. I was excited to try it because I recently started using a retinol treatment at night to fight wrinkles and such. I am currently using a treatment from Dr. Perricone. I used this in lieu of the Dr. Perricone for two months as I was instructed to. The treatment was easy to apply and sank into my skin nicely. I like the packaging of this as well. It was easy to dispense just what I wanted from the tube. I would typically follow this up with my regular nighttime moisturizer. I doubt that this has done much for my skin. Although it could be (and I hope it is!) preventing future wrinkles from forming, it didn't do anything to reverse existing damage on my face. I don't expect miracles, but this product's performance did not match its claims. From what I can tell, this is a weaker form of retinol than what is in Dr. Perricone's treatment. Granted, this is much less expensive than that product, but perhaps you get what you pay for? I was happy to test this, but I would not buy this to use regularly as a nightly anti-aging treatment.

  • CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara

I have heard and seen many positive reviews on this mascara and it seemed like a viable drugstore mascara option. I picked this up from my local Target when it was on sale for just $4.50! This is a nice mascara, but nothing spectacular. For a mascara called volume blast, this actually lacks in the volume department for me. This lengthens and darkens my lashes well, but it does not plump them up or make them look dramatic like I'd expect from a volumizing mascara. Throughout the day this tends to flake off a bit. Thankfully, I do not get raccoon eyes or anything like that from this. A huge plus for me is that this is not a nightmare to remove at night. Many drugstore mascaras feel like glue on my lashes and take forever to remove. I was pleasantly surprised that this came off really easily. I absolutely hate the packaging of this. It is bulky and so tacky looking. If I were looking for a nice drugstore mascara, I might purchase this, but I think I like Maybelline's Great Lash mascara more.

    Johnson's Baby Shampoo

    A Classic...and for Good Reason!

Johnson's Baby Shampoo has been around forever. This was the first shampoo I can ever remember. My mom used this on my sister and me to effectively, gently wash our hair. Johnson's slogan, "No more tears" is so true because this can run right into your eyes without irritation. I love that Johnson's has not changed this as the years have passed. They know they have a winner. Now that I am in my late twenties, I have revisited this classic shampoo. I now use this to wash my makeup brushes. It works better than anything else I have used! It is more effective than specialty brush cleaners and other shampoos I have used on my brushes. This is also so cheap! I big bottle was less than $5 and will last me quite some time. I squirt a small amount into my hand and swirl my wet (dirty) makeup brush in it and it rinses clean. I don't have to go in for a second cleaning like I would have to with other shampoos. The smell is light, fresh and reminiscent of my childhood. There is a reason this has stood the test of time...it's great!
