These blotting papers from Shiseido are great. They absorb oil better than many other blotting papers I have tried (including Body Shop, Clean and Clear, Boscia). Although paper is more delicate than the more waxy blotters, I think it is much more effective at oil absorption. The downfall of these is the price. At $18, these are more expensive than most oil blotting papers out there. The good thing is, Shiseido's papers are bigger than any others I have tried. They are so large that I actually get extra mileage from mine by simply cutting them in half. I only get oily in my t-zone and half of one large sheet is enough for me to blot my nose, chin and forehead to keep the shine at bay for a while. These don't have any powder residue or scent to them which is nice. If you can get past the price, these are definitely worth trying.

When I got my makeup done at MAC a few years ago, the lady used this on me to "set" my makeup when it was done. She sang its praises (of course) and said that the MAC girls keep bottles in there fridge for a refreshing pick me up throughout the day. Needless to say, she sold me and I bought a bottle. Mine has lasted me quite some time. Initially I used it to set my makeup like the lady had done. But as time went on, I started using this differently. I have spritzed this into a couple of my older paint pots to breathe new life in them. I moisten my brushes with this in between washes to make them more pliable and it is especially good on my MAC 239 brush when I want to pack on a vibrant eye shadow color. I have found a better makeup setting spray since purchasing this, but I will continue to use the Fix+ for the purposes I mention above. I fear that a traditional toner or setting spray may not be safe to use around my eyes like I know this one is. This smells light and refreshing, so it is really enjoyable to use. The spritz could be more even, but since I don't typically use this directly on my face, it is fine by me. Now that MAC has started carrying mini versions of this, I plan to always keep one of those on hand. It has taken me quite some time to get through my bigger bottle and the smell has faded so I look forward to getting a mini version. I think this is worth a try. This is a pumped up water, infused with calming vitamins and I think it has even more purposes that I have yet to uncover.

Nude lip liners are great. They make other lip products last longer and can be worn under pretty much any color, saving you the money and effort it would take to find a liner that matches all your individual lipstick colors. That is, if the nude liner is truly nude. I love the idea that Smashbox has of carrying various nude liner shades. I thought that no matter what the skin tone, Smashbox would have something for everyone. Unfortunately, even the lightest shades were too dark for me. They showed up brown or a darkish pink. These weren't colors that would allow the true color of my lip products to show. For reference, I have very fair skin and medium brown hair. My lips are pretty fair with a pink hue to them. After trying out two of the lightest colors Smashbox carried in this line, I had to return them to Sephora because neither did what I had hoped. So my search for the perfect nude liner continues. I think the shade range of these will work best for someone who has naturally darker lips than me.

Maybelline New York Eyestudio Master Precise All Day Liquid Eyeliner Makeup
Precise and Long Lasting
This is a great, budget-friendly liquid eyeliner. The applicator comes to a fine point, making this really easy to use. The black is not shiny like many liquid liners tend to be. This also does not flake off or run so it is super long lasting and easy to wear, whether you create a subtle thin line, or a more bold line or a winged look. Many of the pen type eyeliners can dry out really quickly but this one has lasted a suprisingly long time. I forgot about this for a couple months in my makeup case and I tested it thinking it wouldn't be good anymore, but it was just like new! Very impressive for a drugstore liner.

This is a wonderful all-around chapstick. It relieves dry, chapped lips and its affects are long lasting. If you love the traditional Chapstick Brand products, then this is a great, updated and more natural alternative. The scent of this makes it a real standout too. The vanilla is subtle and delicious. It doesn't smell fake, too strong or too sweet. Although this smells divine, it does not taste like anything so it won't interfere with whatever you eat or drink which is great. This has an SPF 18 in it to help protect against burned lips. I see these in my local health food store so they are super accessible and affordable.

I did not get along at all with this mascara. It appealed to me because it is inexpensive and promised amazing lashes. This clumped my lashes together and felt terrible on my eyes throughout the day. It was really sticky and goopy on my lashes. It didn't have good staying power so I would notice some mascara underneath my eyes (raccoon eyes!) as the day went on. At night, I had a horrible time getting this off. I would use mass amounts of my best eye makeup remover and would still wake up the next morning with raccoon eyes. I was also starting to notice that my lashes were even coming out! After about a week, I had to chuck this because it was way too cumbersome and painful to continue using. I am now weary of all Avon mascaras!

I got a deluxe sample of this in a Bare Minerals kit as a 500 point reward from Sephora. Generally I am unimpressed by Bare Minerals because the products I have tried from them have been disappointing. This mascara is actually the best thing I have tried from Bare Minerals so far. The wand is plastic, which I usually don't care for but this one is nice. It tapers to a fairly fine point making it easy to get to the inner and outer corner lashes without making a mess. The filter on the tube of mascara is really great too because it gets ALL the excess mascara off the brush, leaving you with just what you need for an eye. This lengthens and defines my lashes really nicely without any clumping. It doesn't do much by way of volumizing, but it doesn't claim to either. Bare Minerals has another mascara with a completely different wand for that. I find this to be a pretty basic mascara, albeit nice. I don't love it enough to pay $18 for it because I think there are a lot of other mascaras on the market for the same price or less that do just as much or more than this one does. However, I will enjoy using the remainder of the deluxe sample.

A small chunk of this soap was thrown into my bag as a little extra when I made a purchase from a Lush store. To exfoliate, I typically use Lush's Rub Rub Rub, but in between tubs of that I decided to use this sample instead. This soap has a nice, fresh scent and has little bits of what look like hijiki seaweed in it. These bits of seaweed are great for exfoliation. While in the shower I kept this piece of soap in an old Lush container which made it easy to access and use. You'll need some sort of soap holder that will keep this from getting too wet when not in use. I liked the feeling of this on my arms and legs and it lathered quite nicely for a bar soap. After rinsing, however, the parts of my skin that I used this on felt really tight and dry. I suffer from extreme dryness on my legs already so this was concerning. I wouldn't even want to continue using this on my arms because it didn't feel nice once I rinsed it off. I am glad that I figured this out by using a sample rather than spending a lot of money on a chunk of soap that I don't have much use for. I will finish off this sample by using it as a hand soap, but only when I have lotion handy for afterwards.

I got a deluxe sample of this through a monthly subscription box service and I was so excited to see it and try it out. I love the idea of an exfoliating treatment that uses fruit enzymes to gently exfoliate your skin. This also has physical exfoliators in it so when you massage your skin, you are getting a light exfoliation that way too. Once this hit my skin it felt super intense. My skin felt like it was burning, but in a chemical burn kind of way. This is meant to be a quick mask, which is a big plus. You massage this into your skin for 30 seconds and then leave it on for up to two minutes. I couldn't make it close to the two minute mark! I massaged it over my face, but probably not for 30 seconds because I couldn't handle the burning. I basically rinsed it off right away, being very careful to completely avoid my eyes because I was scared it would very badly burn them. My skin burned afterwards as well, but thankfully I didn't notice any irritation on my skin. If I had left it on for more time, I fear that it could have caused a bad reaction. Other reviewers seem to love this and have not had such intense reactions to this but I couldn't handle the pain of this and will not use it again. Perhaps her gentle formula would be better suited for me, although I don't typically have super sensitive skin. I didn't see extraordinary results from this, but that could be because I didn't massage it long enough or leave it on the entire time. I'd much rather stick to other masks that I have that effectively and gently exfoliate my skin.

I purchased these on a recommendation from a couple family members who love them. After using them for a while I found out even more people I know use and love these! Almay's pre-moistened makeup remover pads are great at gently removing makeup around the eyes. These bust up eyeliner and mascara so effectively. There is no stinging or burning, even if these touch your actual eye balls. I also like that these are oil free so they don't leave any traces of oil behind. These are also great for traveling since you only have to bring the one thing instead of a remover plus pads and there won't be any spillage in the case of an accident. This isn't my all-time favorite makeup remover, but it is certainly the most convenient and far better than so many others that I have tried.
