I have a new respect for oils. They absorb directly into skin and serve many purposes. I spent the last few weeks moisturizing with LA Christine's "N°3 Berry Face Oil Treatment," using just a few drops at night and in the morning under makeup. The medicine-dropper applicator makes it easy to dispense just the amount you want (a little goes a long way here). The deep cobalt-tinted glass bottle preserves the vitality of the ingredients so that the sun and/or light does not compromise their effectiveness. This is a delightful concoction of Ligonberry, Brazilian Acai Berry, and Raspberry, with all of the natural beneficial antioxidants these oils possess. It is meant for all skin types--not just dry--and the oil is not heavy at all, just a crystal-light liquid which sinks into your face and neck and works hard to moisturize, nourish, and provide anti-inflammatory properties. I've noticed that my makeup seems to glide on, and there is a new radiance besides the velvet-like, more taut feel. My ah-a moment with this came when I was rinsing it off with a rich cleanser. I kept rinsing and couldn't tell where the silky cleanser ended and my even silkier skin began! This is also wonderful for massaging into hands, elbows, cuticles, and even dry ends of hair or fly-away's. It keeps them under control with no greasy feel at all. Well done; with this product, I'll stay forever young!

Lancôme is very confident of "Visionnaire," an advanced skin corrector meant to visibly diminish pores, wrinkles, and perfect uneven skin texture. Lancôme even claims that "One out of two women tempted by a cosmetic procedure decided to postpone it" in favor of this product. For a hefty price tag of about $69.00, this lightweight, pink-tinted, nicely scented serum sinks into skin well. I used as directed for nearly a month. My skin was much softer, to be sure, but there was no change as to the disappearance of pores and the tiny wrinkles beginning to emerge. I'm not sure on whom Lancôme researched this, but I am shocked by the lack of results, especially from a company with this kind of reputation.

My beloved mother had to constantly remind me that a great bath could pretty much relieve most of the stress life handed me. And she was right. I am in an automatic habit of turning on the shower in the morning, but now a few nights a week (or mornings if I have time to spare), I indulge with LUSH-cious bath bombs like "Butterball," "Big Blue," and "Bon Bomb." The pleasures to these somewhat pricey products are watching the color changing the bath water, inhaling the sensual aromas, and the fizz! Some, like "Butterball," are ultimately moisturizing. I have to say that when I step out, I generally leave most of my problems going down the drain . . . at least for a short while.

A cosmetic company asked me to critique First Aid Beauty's "Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer." I was so impressed that I went on to keep repurchasing it and add it to my skin care staples. It absorbs very quickly and leaves a definite velvet-like finish on your complexion. A blend of essential oils and natural waxes soften and deeply hydrate. This is particularly meant with anyone who has normal to dry skin. Ingredients include: Glycerin, squalane, dimethicone, allantoin, shea butter, meadowfoam seed oil, avocado oil, and licorice extract (which brightens skin and gives it a radiant appearance). Use morning and evening after cleansing over face and neck, and you will find yourself loving your skin.

First Aid Beauty is a great line, with a product for just about everything. I often use their "Smooth Shave Cream" because it prevents nics and razor irritation and makes shaving easier--even pleasant! The cream has a pretty pearly look to it but no smell. Ingredients include coconut oil, glycerin, aloe leaf juice, panthenol, argania spinosa kernel oil, tea tree leaf oil, soybean oil, and flower extract. It is formulated without parabens, harsh chemicals, and colorants. This cream is safe for even the most sensitive skin. Apply a thin layer to cleansed and moistened skin. It will rinse off completely when you are done shaving.

Conceal undereye circles, blemishes, uneven skin patches, or anything else with this wondrous kit from Redpoint. These are professional shades made to mask red and blue from blemishes and circles. Use the hues separately or work with them together. This has substantial coverage, although it will never drag on skin or look cakey or artificial. This compact travels with me everywhere!

This silky cream has an amino complex which instantly smooth's your complexion's appearance by "filling in" wrinkles, furrows, and pores. Skin is noticeably softer and looks younger, less tired. Although you will enjoy applying the cream, you won't know it's there while you're wearing it--except, perhaps, for the compliments you receive!

I was asked to critique EOS Shaving Cream years ago for another site. I continue to use it. I truly enjoy the different scents, the moisturizing texture, the ingredients to keep my skin healthy (aloe, oat and shea butter, and Vitamins C and E), and the silky-smooth feel and gleam to my legs when I'm done using it.

I never know when I'll run into a ladies' room without soap. Water alone does NOT do the job. So I always carry these soap leaves with me. They lather extremely well, smell luscious, and leave skin soft. Sometimes I will stand and offer them to every other woman I see at a sink as well!

Crabtree & Evelyn used to have an exfoliator which resembled tiny wood shavings, but it got rid of every bit of dry skin. I wish they still carried it. They still do carry this cleanser, which remains in our kitchen at all times. The fragrance is great, oils and residue are removed easily, and skin is left hydrated.
