"Shalimar" has been around far longer than I have. The heady, enticing scent is not for the faint of heart, and less is definitely more with this. All in all, I still like it.

I find myself reaching for this duo quite often. The lilac has a beautiful glow, almost holographic, complemented by the deep, seductive purple in the compact. Maybe other compacts don't apply or blend as well, but I have no problem with these at all.

Just when you think that a feminine fragrance doesn't get better than Marc Jacob's "Daisy," try their "Daisy Eau So Fresh." It is even more alluring. Key notes include natural raspberry, grapefruit, pear, violet, wild rose, apple blossoms, cedarwood, plum, and musks. My husband likes "Daisy," but he LOVES "Daisy Eau So Fresh. So do my friends and colleagues.

This is the perfect setting powder. It the basically the same rice-based powder used by ancient Chinese women to control shine and mattify your complex. It has a delicate scent. Buy it in the tear-off disposable papers to carry for daily touch-ups as well.

This is an upscale formula, to be sure. Lips are nourished with rich emollients to keep you moisturized all day. The choice of colors is mind-blowing: There are demure shades, like "Bling" (a mauve/pink cream) and "Heiress" (mid-toned mauve) to "Shell" (iridescent light blue/pink pearl) and "Extreme Red" (a bright blue red which lightens the look of teeth). It does glide on with a silky feel and stays put, especially over a lip primer. This is comparable to a lipstick from MAC, for just $7.50 a tube. How can you possibly resist that?

This new palette has all the basic necessary shades--plum, midnight blue, matte charcoal, glimmering charcoal, medium brown, and matte white--needed to create a wide variety of looks. Use them dry for a day-at-the office-look. Use them wet and/or over a good primer (NYX has a primer which really brings out color) for night-on-the-town glamour. These are highly pigmented, soft, blendable, and in a palette which slips into virtually any handbag. I love the wear and the look. Another winner from NYX!

This pencil is available in so many shades that I was torn as to which to purchase for my auburn eyebrows--"Auburn" or "Light Brown." I happily chose "Light Brown," avoiding any possible artificial look. The pencil glides softly on eyebrows. Be sure to use feather-like strokes to imitate real hairs. The stiff-bristled brush helps brush brows upward and outward for a wide-awake look. This is an exceptional deal at $4.50, comparable to top-shelf brands.

NYX knows how to do shadow right. I would put them up against MAC colors and consider them the better value, considering the price. Take their "Trio Eye Shadow," for instance. For just $7.00, these eye-catching palettes are available in nineteen combinations. I love "Lake Moss" for a dark, brooding look (deep purple, navy blue, and moss green) to "Sweet Lagoon," especially fun and useful for the summer months (pearly mint/green, silvery blue, and blue/green). They can be used dry for any look you want to achieve; add want and you've created intense pigment and drama. The formula is crease- and flake-free, long-lasting lasting, and very flattering on women on all complexions. They go on very smoothly and blend well. You can't possibly go wrong with buying one of these palettes (or two or ten!).

I just wrote a previous review about an NYX palette stating how I can't pass a palette by--they call me by name, I swear! Even the most unusual arrangements of colors will get my attention, as I am intent on making them work for me. This is one of the very few NYX products I don't care for. "Winter in Moscow" was so appealing when I saw it online that I snatched it up immediately. The problem? I don't think I've used it more than three or four times. I get the theme--the colors are to emulate a frosty, frozen yet "smoky" look. On paper, it's a great idea. In reality, it doesn't work as it is presented. NYX has well-pigmented, virtually crease-free, long-wearing shadows, but in this palette there seems to be repeat upon repeat. There are twelve fair-size wells of color. Two are nearly identical shimmering taupe shades. There is a fascinating, almost holographic silver/grey/blue which I love, and a white. And then there are four (count 'em) degrees of gleaming greys. They are lovely, but how about adding some other shades? There are two virtual twin matte charcoal shades, followed by a matte chocolate and a deeper charcoal. I was annoyed at this mix, but it gets worse--at the bottom are two HUGE pans of color: Gently glimmering deep charcoal and matte deep charcoal. It was as if NYX was stuck with an overload of greys and decided to throw them into a compact. Yes, you can create some nice looks with these, but I am just frustrated by the waste of color. There is a lovely pink-peach blush and a deeper version with tiny bits of glimmer (completely wearable, a great pop of unexpected color). Out of five lip glosses included, three are in shades of mauve (lucky for me that I like this hue), one is pure gold, and the other is copper. This palette had great potential, but I don't know what NYX was thinking when they put it together.

If you've read some of my other reviews, you know that I am absolutely addicted to palettes. It's hard to walk by one without picking it up and generally purchasing it. When NYX introduced their "Butt Naked Eyes" ($25.00), I fell hard. And I'd buy it again. And again. The name is deceptive, as the shadows are not so neutral that they are boring in any way. Au contraire--you can easily create anything from a barely-there look for everyday wear to a true, dramatic smoky eye with ease. Fifteen well-pigmented eye shadows allow you to blend and experiment with only your imagination setting the limits. These colors apply easily and wear well, especially over a good primer (NYX has a great one). Some of the colors are light pinks, taupes, suedes, ecru, white, charcoal, deep amethyst, and chocolate. The shades are all a matte finish. I would like some shimmer, but this makes it truly wearable for all. Add to that two rosy and two coral blushes (very flattering colors), a bronzer which is not too dark for even the most fair skin, and two highlighters in champagne and light peach. For twenty-five dollars, it breaks down to about $1.13 per color (that's the way I justify my purchase of palettes). It's a bargain you simply cannot afford to pass by!
