I've had my moments of doubt with this scrub. It removes flakes, but doesn't prevent new ones. It exfoliates, but it leaves behind a residue. I get the most out of this product by using it on dry or slightly damp skin before I use a face cleanser. It maximizes the scrubbing power and prevents the residue. Its fine texture feels really good, and it removes most of my flakes, but my skin peels again within a few hours.

I hate to be the first to say mean things about this serum, but I was unpleasantly surprised by its inefficacy. I received a sample of this which I used every night (for about two weeks) between toning and moisturizing. It smelled awful and didn't handle the redness on my nose and cheeks. I like that it contains good bacteria, absorbs quickly, and doesn't clog pores, but otherwise it's a dud.

This is a simple and effective night moisturizer that smells yummy and comes in a pretty pink tub. Even though it goes on a bit greasy, I always wake up to soft, moisturized skin. Be sure to apply only enough to cover your skin, otherwise you'll wake up to angry, broken-out skin.

This deep conditioner has the earthy Aveda smell that I love and it makes my hair look and feel good, compliments of the quinoa protien. Still, I only gave it six stars because my regular conditioner does the same thing, and for a lot less money. After using this weekly for three months, I didn't notice that any damage had actually been repaired.

Giovanni Cool Mint Lemonade Salt Scrub with Crushed Mint Leaves
Too cool for winter, save it for summer
This stuff sloughed off dead, itchy skin and left a cooling oil and wake-me-up tingle in its wake. The minty, sage-y, citrusy smell underscored by the salt reminded me of my childhood in a tiny town on a bay. Although potent in the shower, the smell faded quickly, as did the oil. I wish the oil had been more nourishing. I needed a lot of post-shower lotion and my skin still itched like crazy.

Bare Escentuals would be wise to stop playing up the supposed "plumping effects" of this gloss, including the oversize package, and market Buxom as a really good lip gloss. Its jewel-toned hues, long-lasting color, and shiny formula make it stand out from the pack, as do it's adorable burlesque mascots. The minty tingle is pleasant, but not plumping. Try Dolly, a universally flattering plum.

I've always had nice skin, so I would never have tried this if I hadn't received a sample of it. Oh my goodness, after applying this over moisturizer and under foundation, I had commercial-ready skin that felt like silk. Best of all, my combo skin usually starts to flake by the end of the day, taking my foundation with it, but this primer kept everything in place over a 10-hour workday. Impressive.

I have tried this mascara twice, and both times found it too dry. The first time, I bought it after reading all the positive reviews, and then returned it when all my 20 bucks got me was dry, stuck-together lashes. Then I received it as a free sample with an online Estee Lauder order, and gave it another chance. Once again, dry, stuck-together lashes. The good thing is that it added length without smudging.

I cheated on Goldwell Double Boost with this stuff because of its glowing reviews and better value. Although Root Boost does a good job of amping up and texturizing my bob, it's not good at targeted volume, which is what I need it for on a day-to-day basis. My hair has a weird flat spot and I use volumizer exclusively on that spot to even out my hair. However, I will keep Root Boost around for nights out.

This product is amazing. It's the ONLY thing that works on my stubborn cowlicks. I have wavy hair that I like to wear straight, and this product cuts down on my styling time and the number of products I have to use to achieve my desired look. The results are smooth and natural-looking. You can use it on wet or dry hair, but I find that when I use it on dry hair it leaves an undesirable residue and makes my hair too flat (albeit perfectly straight). But my hair is fine, so the thick-haired my have better results.
