    Lush Karma Komba

    LUSH KARMA KOMBA

Smells good! Green and earthy, but not much like plants. Maybe mushroomy jungle undergrowth. I love that smell, though. I used this with Jungle conditioner and I have liked the shampoo's performance. I am not a big fan of the flowers and crap jammed into the soap--I don't want to have to pick that out of my hair or shower drain, gross. I bought this because the image online did not imply it had those things in it. Plus once I pull out the big dried flower, I was missing a 1/4" x 1/4" chunk in my bar, which is like 1-2 shampoos, probably! Buh. I do like the dark green way this smells (like a really heavy, less floral Aveda--actually it reminds me sooo much of my dad's old Herbal Essence from the 1970s with the nude girl on the cover with the flowers in her hair, the dark green shampoo--!) and it cleans great, just like the other Lush shampoos I have tried (Hard, Shine). I am addicted to these shampoos; no liquid shampoo cleans as well as I have found these to. Yesterday I woke up with no hot water in the shower, and I skipped my shampoo, and then today I woke up later than I wanted and had to put my hair up in the shower for lack of drying time, and it still looked great, nice and shiny and the oil distribution was even. I probably could have waited another day but I really wanted to try my new shampoo and conditioner that came today. I think each bar lasts me about 1. 5 months, using about every other day. I had 2 bars for Christmas and I am just now running out of my Hard bar (in multiple chips, which are not the easiest to control in the shower) at the end of March '12. Again, make sure you store these on a sponge outside your shower! They won't get all gross and melt if you do that. Make sure your sponge can dry out every day, though (not IN the shower, I store mine on an outside ledge). I love this shampoo. It's fun to use in the shower, and such a small amount is needed each time that I feel this bar is going to last a long, looong time! It lathers really well and rinses out easily enough. To be honest, I absolutely hate the way my hair feels when I get out of the shower and comb it through. It's literally squeaky clean, which sounds wrong to me. Once I got it combed and dried though, my hair looked and felt amazing! I was worried that it would be too clean and dried out, but it wasn't. I'm definitely going to be using this regularly!

    Dior Addict Plastic Gloss

    DIOR ADDICT PLASTIC GLOSS

I love this gloss! I got into the nude look for so long, I needed a gloss w/ color, especially with my plum shadows that I got back into. I picked up this color because it is the only gloss in from Dior that gave my pigmented lips color. I love all the Addict Plastic glosses and the Lip Fuids as well. They just give so much color! This particular color is a nice rosy beige. The color payoff is wonderful in any kind of lighting and shows up so well in photographs. I love this color! Looks great with any color clothing or with neutral, brown, plum eyeshadows. It is such an everyday color as well. This takes forever to come off my lips. I use this for events I go to because it looks great in photos and it is hard to wear off while talking and sipping. I love this for everyday as well, but I blot it down and it just looks like my lips. They make my lips so full! Love it! I am slightly embarrassed to admit that I was compelled to try this product after I read Jessica Alba couldn't live without it. I generally gravitiate towards neutral gloss so I picked this color. In the tube, it looks like a brownish rose w/ some shimmer (not exactly beige as the name implies). It is slighly more pigmented and less glossy than most of the lipglosses I own. The effect is still natural but I want to say it is somewhere between a lipgloss and a lipstick. It isn't sticky or tacky and it lasts a while. The one thing I dislike about this gloss is the fact that it tastes gross, like old Revlon lipstick(flowery perfume taste). I saw this on Hilary Duff in Cosmo and decided to give it a try. the word "plastic" kind of worried me, like this gloss would seal onto my lips and give it a vinyl-ish look, but it actually looks like a gloss should, just has great staying power. the color is beautiful and I don't see any orange either. I am extremely pale and this shows up as a dark nude on my lips, and can easily be toned down if I want something lighter. Overall, a great lipgloss I wouldn't mind wearing almost every day

  • Pixi Eye Bright Kit

    Pixi Eye Bright Kit

    PIXI EYE BRIGHT KIT

This is my holy grail. I have used it almost every day for the past six months and I am still on my first pot. I hardly use anything for each application! The two color correctors match my pale skin tone perfectly (I purchased the #1 shade) and when I put it on it honestly looks like I have simply erased any darkness beneath my eyes. It blends perfectly and when I am finished it looks like my natural skin. There is no indication that I have even used a concealer. It is easy enough to set with a powder and it lasts all day! My skin is fairly young and my undereye circles are not a huge issue, just something the perfectionist in me likes to take care of. For someone with deeper circles or more lines it might cause issues, but for now this is the perfect choice for me. The packaging is really cute, but I find that the amounts they give you are pretty small. In an ideal world, I would get larger amounts of the two concealers and less of the shimmery highlighter and white eye brightener product. I still have a lot of shimmer and white left, but almost no concealer left. Also, the "pie" shape of the colors means that a lot of product gets lodged into corners when you start to run out. I've had to dig the remaining product out of the corners with nail scissors. The price is steep, but since I've used it for over six months now and foresee another month left before I have to repurchase, I'd say it's worth every penny considering that I do use it almost every day! Love it love it love it! My favorite product from pixi. I'm taking off one point due to the fact that I'm not thrilled with the quadrant packaging or the exactly equal proportion of product they give you. I really love the idea of this kit (I bought no. 1 for fair skin). Two concealer shades for undereye and any other areas, a highlighter, and an eye inner corner brightener. They're all packaged together in a round container, like four slices of pie. There are just a few things I wish they would tweak: the white brightener can only be used very sparingly, so I wish they would make that slice much smaller, and give more room for concealer or highlighter. Also, the texture is just very slightly too thin for my preference--if it was just a tad creamier/heavier, then it would be easier to deal with undereye circles. The highlighter looks beautiful in the pan, but goes on with a lot of shimmer with hardly any pigment. Still, it is a nice brow/cheek highlighter. Overall, a great multi-tasker and something that I'm glad to have in my makeup bag..But I'm not done looking for something better. This little kit really offers a great roundup of eye-brightening products. You get 2 concealers, in pink and yellow tones. I find that the yellow undertone works great on the dark circle areas while the pink brightens and evens out the lid. There is a brightener in a pearl white, that goes great in the corners of the eyes and works well for other highlighting applications too. It adds glow but isn't obvious. Then there's also a highlighter, a shimmery pinkish cream. It adds a nice shimmer that isn't too sparkly or garish.

  • Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal

    Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal

    PIXI ILLUMINATING TINT & CONCEAL

At first I thought it was the tinted moisturizer for me. Nice light coverage and it didn't seem to overly emphasize pores/lines. BUT I discovered it was a tad too sparkly. I prefer to selectively add highlight, not have it all over my face. Almost a winner and the concealer was good for spot concealing. I was looking for a temporary replacement for Paula's Choice Sheer Matte Tint. I found that this Pixi TM, as well as the new Too Faced BB Cream, have nearly identical main ingredients (and formula) as the PC SMT, the difference being some added botanicals and the mica for illumination/glow. I am very impressed with the Pixi IT&C, it actually matches my fair skin tone (in the lightest shade) better than the PC SMT (in the lightest shade). It really does give a nice glow without sparkle. And, as a nice surprise, the concealer actually works very well on redness/acne spots and areas of melasma/discoloration that need more coverage. It will also help conceal eye circles in a pinch, though it's a bit too dry to be ideal for this purpose. I am probably going to give the Too Faced version a try next simply because you get 50% more for nearly the same price. But I would definitely buy this again, even though it's a bit pricey. I've been looking for a good TM for a while, and despite the good reviews on here I was hesitant to pick this one up because of the price; I figured for that much money I may as well head to a department store and get some professional advice. Too bad I hate department stores and don't like dealing with salespeople, so after exhausting the most likely drugstore options, I picked this up from Target. And I am so glad I did. The coverage from this is light, probably about as much as everyday minerals but definitely more than other tinted moisturizers. It lasts me through a workday without touch-ups, and doesn't need a whole lot of powder to keep me from looking oily. This tinted moisturizer does a good job of evening my skin tone and covering up the redness in my cheeks without making it look like I have a mask on, which I appreciate. If I wanted to look completely flawless, I would need something a bit heavier, but this is perfect for everyday. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is some shimmer to it. The first time I applied it, I thought it was a deal-breaker, but it wears off pretty quickly and isn't too obvious unless you are under direct light. Packaging is a little annoying; I always end up opening the concealer when I am just trying to get to the TM. Besides that, it is hygienic and functional. My skin has never met a liquid makeup that it likes, so the fact that I haven't broken out yet is something of a miracle. Obviously I will update if I do, but for now I have to say that Illuminating Tint & Conceal is awesome!

  • Pixi Lip Blush
    10.0

    Pixi Lip Blush

    PIXI LIP BLUSH

This is a great lipstain. It's a very nice nude on my fair complexion. It lasts pretty well. I usually wear it as a base for my lip gloss in the summer. That way when the gloss inevitably wears off, I don't have completely naked lips. The only thing I don't care for is the price. I consider it rather expensive. I find the color to be pretty buildable. It doesn't bleed either. Overall, I'm very happy and would purchase again, although I'm certain this container will last quite awhile for me. I have always stayed away from these lip stain products, I remember Stila had some once upon a time. Most of the colors were so over the top. I mean I want some color but not something garish, I'd rather wear lipstick for that. They had these on sale at Target for $8 so I took the plunge and bought it in the Purity color which is somewhere between nude/rose/brown. It's really great for my fair skintone and it can be applied lightly or more heavily for more intense color. My lips are so pale and I love that even when my gloss wears off, there is still some color there to make me look alive. I would love to try one of the other colors, maybe Youth, we'll see, but I highly recommend these especially if you can get them at a discounted price. I will probably explore some other drugstore lines that have these products at better prices. You can grade the color by either applying it to both lips for more intense color, or just to one lip and pressing them together before it dries for a more subtle color. It stays in place all day and looks beautiful - I just layer gloss or chapstick over the top of it to keep my lips from drying and to give them a little sheen if I feel like it. I have found it helpful to exfoliate my lips prior to applying it so that it goes on smoothly. It's a cinch to apply with its marker tip applicator and smells like a fruity peach cocktail. I will definitely buy this again! It's pretty user-friendly as a felt-tip applicator; you can line and fill in your lips in seconds. Make sure your lips are exfoliated and clean before applying. If you skip that step, the application will not be even. Also, it's best to apply lip balm afterwards, so you don't cause any balm buildup on the applicator tip. There's a lot of pigment, even in the most neutral shade, which is called "purity." The color on the box swatch is NOT what comes out of the pen, however. It comes out as a much brighter pink tone. I can't imagine the other colors being very flattering for most people, so stick with the "purity" shade if this is your first one. What I like is you can control the intensity by layering or you can take it down a notch by blotting with a tissue before it's dry. Also, I found that any oil-based lip treatments you apply on top can cause some of it to rub off, too. I tend to prefer it not at full-intensity, personally, but even with some wiped off, there is plenty of color that enhances your natural lip tone. it's also terrific for layering with sheer glosses. If you like the full intensity, and use it on its own, it's bound to stay put for a long time. Probably at least four to five hours, on average. Even with its staying power, it is not difficult to remove with makeup remover or towelette. Just be sure not to use a towel you like, because it WILL STAIN. It is, after all, a lip stain. It is water-based, so that should come out with a detergent if you happen to forget.

    Pixi Eye Beauty Kit

    PIXI EYE BEAUTY KIT

I have this and really really like it. In fact I don't think I've brought anything Pixi that I've not liked. I use these dark colours in place of eyeliner, apply with a thin brush and then blend, got some cracking looks with them. They also work well with the smokey eye look that I think they were intended for. I find that I get tons of colour, they blend beautifully and really last. It is a tad on the pricey side, but then I really really don't think that MAC or NARS is all that, I think they are overpriced having tried their products. I'd spend my money on Pixi before either of those, but I guess it's down to personal taste. I have several of the Pixi eye kits, I love the lavender kit, and I also have the nude shade kit which for me teams great with this as I use the natural shades as a base and blend the smokey colours in. This palette costs more than I would typically spend on eyeshadow, but it comes with many beautiful colors, so I don't mind quite so much. the colors are very vibrant. It is easy to create a dramatic look. A couple of them are shimmery (brown, green, & taupe), a couple are matte ( blue & black), and there are a few satin colors (purple& grey). I use a lid primer before eyeshadow, unless I'm in a hurry. These colors have good payoff. If I want to deepen the colors for evening wear, I use a black creamy base like the black gel liner by Pixi. I pat the eyeshadow onto my lid using a dense eyeshadow brush, then blend with a fluffier blush or crease brush. When used with a primer or base, the eyeshadow has great staying power. 1. I purchased two of these at Target at 75% off. 2. These aren't bad at all. I got a good color payoff even without my usual primer. 3. It says on the packaging that these shadows are sheer and if you want more color to apply wet. 4. The packaging is slim purposely- so that it is easier to tote about.

  • Pixi Succulent Lip Twin
    10.0

    Pixi Succulent Lip Twin

    PIXI SUCCULENT LIP TWIN

I bought the lip succulent in Poppy on clearance for $9. 99 and I love the poppy-red color from the rounded balm end. It's a beautiful shade of red that simply brightens my face, even worn solo. I love the brightening effect of a lot of Pixi's makeup line. I love this in combo with a gold eyeshadow (I use the gold shade from the Wakeup-Makeup palette), black eyeliner on the upper waterline only, 2 coats of thick, black mascara, bronzer, and a flush of poppy blush on the cheeks. Beautiful summer look. The color is the tube is sheerer and very buttery. This is a good, casual, red for my fair skin. The top, domed, part is supposed to be a more concentrated lip and cheek stain. And, the botton tube is a sheer lip gloss. My face flushes very easily so I don't need to add extra (red) color unless, maybe, I'm wearing a full coverage foundation. But, I did try it out for the sake of this review and it's actually quite beautiful. Once you blend it in it's a very faint, natural, looking color, though a little Snow White-ish on my fair skin. That alone makes me want to get another shade that would suit my coloring better But, they're so expensive and have a limited amount of shades, I don't think the others would work for me as well as this red. It wears well on the lips. A very simple, sheer, red. I find the gloss to leave a bit of a stain also, which is great. Applied lightly it turns my naturally pink lips a "naturally" red shade. The domed stain on the top gives off more color. I wore it with a black and white dress, kept applying all day long (I like to always feel something on my lips) and it looked the same as the first time I applied it. The packaging is super cute. Both caps screw on, so you have to hold the other cap in place while opening the one you want. Not a big deal to me, because I like having the security of a screw cap. The gloss doesn't have an applicator tip at all, just a flat top with a hole in the center. I don't carry brushes with me in my purse, which means I have to apply this, red, gloss with my finger. That sucks. Having to rub it into your hands like a lotion because you don't feel like finding a bathroom every time you apply this stuff. It does have a slight chemical scent. Reminds me of the scent of sunblock. I don't smell it once I'm wearing it. I may try out the purple/mauve shade in the store. It would have to be a fantastic color for me to want to spend $18 on another one of these. I do like this red one a lot but it can be a hassle. I think this is a gem product. You can't blame a shade for looking bad on your skin tone, because that happens. Target has testers to use before buying any Pixi product. I chose the shade Poppy Love, a beautiful red with some pink and orange to it. It's so beautiful. The packaging cap scews off, it doesn't snap off, so it won't come open in a purse. The balm/gloss section of the Lip Twin is basically for a lip brush or your finger. I don't mind because I wash my hands often. You only need a teeny tiny amount because it melts and becomes super glossy on your lips. This is because the formula is rich and feels like a butter while on. Pixi puts a lot of thought and effort into their line, and I'm impressed with everything I've bought so far.

  • Yes To Carrots C Me Shine Lipgloss

Yes To Carrots C Me Shine Lipgloss

YES TO CARROTS C ME SHINE LIPGLOSS

I purchased the two-pack of these glosses several months ago at Target for $5.99 (?). It came with playful nude and rose bliss. The playful nude has minimal shimmer and is a warm milky beige, not the ideal color for me. I carry rose bliss with me everywhere however & love the color - it's a sheer pale pink with shimmer. It has a great texture, lovely sheen, and minty flavor in a somewhat long-lasting formula (considering it is not sticky at all, but smooth). It's loaded with natural goodness and is paraben free to boot. Rose Bliss is an HG for me - I Say YES To Carrots and look forward to trying some of their other products. I have tried the lip butters and enjoyed them, so I decided to try the lip gloss. I looked on their website, and saw a color I liked (although I can't recall what it was called). I went to Target, but the color I wanted wasn't there. Target only has two colors: rose bliss and playful nude. I looked at the price (about $6) and was turning away. As I was walking out of the aisle, I saw a pack of both colors that was only $5. I was confused at how a pack of both could cost less that one. I realized that this was a good deal and bought a pack. The "playful nude" is not a color I would normally wear. I tend to go for the rosier colors. So you can understand when I was surprised when the color didn't look all that bad on me. It is a pinkish brown color, while the "rose bliss" one is light pink with sparkles. It smells minty and goes on very smoothly. I will purchase again, although I don't think I will need to, becuase the tube is bigger than my normal lipglosses and should last me a while. I do recomend this, and this company's other products. I do say Yes To Carrots! Great textured gloss, not at all sticky with a hint of mint. This nude was a little too "nudey" for me, it gave me really beige lips, which means that I will always have to do a darker eye, but then again, I'm kind of tan right now. I got this in this in Flirty Pink and Carrot Kiss as well. Both look much more bright in the tube when they're actually go on pretty sheer and shimmery. The Flirty Pink is a pale pink and the Carrot Kiss is a sheer peach. Both seem to have more shimmer than the Playful Nude.

    Lancome Color Fever Gloss

    LANCOME COLOR FEVER GLOSS

I got this as a gift and after some searching found that it's quite expensive! But I love this, it's a great shade - not too bright, the perfect pink that's not too girly. It smells quite sweet too, kind of like strawberries. The application is great, the wand has a sort of heart shaped end which contours well on the lips, but it's hard to get much product on it, so you might need to apply twice. The only problem I'd have with this is that it's quite sticky, so beware if you have long hair out on a windy day! This is my favourite lipgloss of all time. The packaging is absolutely stunning. It is easy to apply and has a perfect combination of pink and shimmer - very girly and sophisticated. The tube lasts me a long time, making the price worth it. I will always have one of these in my handbag. I think this is super expensive, but I'm hooked on these. Right now I got tons of back up lipglosses for under 5 bucks, but IDK I'm just HOOKED on these. I love them, maybe it's the smell or something. When I get my paycheck I am definitely gonna run to the nearest department store and snag this color These last a moderately long time and are kinda sticky, but whatever that means they last longer. They don't really smell "good," I don't think they're supposed to, but for me I absolutely LOVE the smell. I forget about what they taste like, but who really wants to eat lipgloss? These look super nice on me too. They're amazingly shiny and sparkly and are pretty thick. I could probably get the same effect from a drugstore lipgloss but there's something about a Lancome lipgloss that just makes me keep on coming back . . . The only problem is I think they should put more product in the tube, these run out "kinda" quickly. For 23 bucks I shouldn't have to repurchase this every 2 months! I just bought Color Fever Gloss in Dangerously Pink #321. At first, I was so sad that they had discontinued Star Gloss because in my opinion there is no better lip gloss with glitter than Star Gloss. My fave was #321 in Sugar Bage. Now, I found out that it's the exact same thing as Color Fever Gloss in Dangerously Pink. So happy now! Ecstatic, actually. Same texture, color, glitter, everything. It's my true love!

  • Bonne Bell Lip Lites

    Bonne Bell Lip Lites

    BONNE BELL LIP LITES

This would be HG status if only it would last longer :(. The color "strawberry parfait" is perfect against my NW 15 skin. Its a great baby pink, almost nude color that is just beautiful and natural. I love the taste and the smell. I have yet to find a color that I love this much in any brand of lipstick & lipgloss. But it lasts for 30 minutes at most...So I mostly use it for taking pictures & other things for going out. Okay, so I normally wouldn't even look at Bonne Bell lip products. I used to assume they were for girls in middle school and, while I loved them in middle school, I was too old to still wear them. But I was desperate for a non frosty light pink, so I bought Strawberry Parfait, and loved it. Like seriously loved it. Best pale pink on the market, hands down. So then I bought three more Lip Lites in different shade... And then I bought three more... And then I bought the last three my local store sold. That's how awesome these are. I don't mind paying thity dollars for some cosmetic products, but this lip gloss kicks butt. It's better then the Urban Decay, Clinique, Dior and Estee Lauder lip products I have tried. Oh yeah... And it only costs three bucks a bottle :D I just had to buy all ten that were available. And honestly, I love them all. I tried a bunch of colors I would have been too scared to try before. I tried nudes for the first time and loved them, I tried mocha shades for the first time and was super shocked that I love them too, it was like Christmas in September. I love that all ten shades cost the same as a single high end lip product. I don't think I'll even buy anything other lip gloss. Seriously, you have to try this. The packaging is great, it has just the right amount of pigmentation. The staying power is okay, but I don't mind reapplying. The best part is the price! I got these for about $3 at my local Walmart. I've had Champagne Frost, Cappuccino, Vanilla Swirl, Metallic Mocha, Bubble Burst, Caramel Latte, Frosted Berry, Mocha Mousse, Angel Food Cake, Cream Pop and Coconut Cream Pie. I've repurchased Cappuccino, Cream Pop, Metallic Mocha, Vanilla Swirl and Mocha Mousse several times because they are gorgeous and smell amazing. I nearly died when I left my Cappuccino one in my locker over the weekend years ago in 6th grade. I've never met a Lip Lite that I didnt like. They feel good on my lips and stay put for a couple hours. Word of warning- if you're sensitive to super sweet scents, best to stay clear of this gloss (my mom thinks they smell like sickly chemicals). Some shades are more wearable than others (I can't be heavy handed with Cream Pop and Vanilla Swirl). Fun glosses. Buy some. Buy em all! They're cheap, life's short.
