  • Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer

HOLY CRAP! I love this concealer! I never had to use a full coverage concealer before but I started to notice that I have dark circles that make me look older in pictures (which is totally unacceptable to me). I was hesitant to shell out $30 on the MUFE, CS, or RCMA full coverage concealers. Then I saw the reviews for Glamoflauge on MUA and decided to check it out, since people were saying it's better than those other brands (since it doesn't dry as fast and become hard to spread) and much cheaper. I don't live near a Walmart so I went to the Walmart website and was happy to find that it was only $6 and FREE shipping! Awesome! I am an NC40 (maybe a shade or two darker because it's summer) and ordered the darkest shade, Tan. This shade turned out to be too light for me (even though the pencil that comes with it is the perfect shade, which is weird) but I found a way around that. I use a clean fluffy eyeshadow brush to stiple the concealer under my eyes in that upside-down triangle sort of shape. I let it dry for a minute or two and then stiple my foundation over it. Then, I let that dry for another few minutes and use a cotton ball to stiple my NC40 Select Sheer powder on top to set. Then I continue applying my makeup and by the time I use a big fluffy brush to apply the loose powder over my whole face, my undereye area matches my skin tone and looks AMAZING! No dark circles in sight! For $6 I don't care that I have to spackle my undereye area a bit to match my skin tone- it works and that's all I care about. I only need a tiny bit for each eye so this tube will last me years! Also, the pencil that comes with this concealer doesn't go to waste- it's PERFECT for concealing my nasolabial lines (the creases that run from the corners of my nose to the corners of my mouth). I saw an Enkore video where he used concealer to make creases/wrinkles less visible, and the Glamoflauge pencil is perfect for that! Love, love, love it :) Great value for a great product!

  • Pond's Luminous Finish BB+ Cream

I bought this BB cream a few weeks ago planning on looking up reviews when I got home. I had been using Maybellines Dream Fresh BB cream as a foundation alternative for summer and it did not work for me at all. I have very oily skin and it turned me into an oil slick within about 15 min of application. Something about the Ponds caught my eye while at Wal Mart (plus it was only 9 bucks or so) so I picked it up. When I got home I was shocked to find there were absolutely no reviews about it whatsoever! It was still an extremely new product when I got it. Since then I have been keeping an eye out and am shocked that more people have not fallen completely in love with it as I have! This cream has a wonderful texture which I think is quite creamy and smooth. When I first apply it (I bought it in medium) it doesn't look like a match for my skin tone but as long as I blend it in with my fingers it ends up somehow adjusting to my skin within a minute or two and making it look wonderful - glowy, or, I suppose "luminous" without being shiny or dewy. I warn, though - make sure to blend really good around the edges or you may get the dreaded "lines". It definitely is not full coverage - but who could expect that with a tinted BB cream? It evens out my skin wonderfully and if I have an active breakout I just apply a small amount of concealer to that area. Also it claims to improve overall skin tone over time. It may be coincidence but in the few weeks I have been using it my skin has begun to look a lot better and I have had much fewer breakouts. It may be simply because I have not been wearing makeup, only this. The smell is not bad, but not wonderful - however I don't see that there is any reason to complain about the smell when you can really only smell it for the first minute or two when applying the product. One thing I LOVE about this is the matte finish. Any girl with an oil control problem out there should at least give it a try if they don't like the shiny look. Now despite my love of the matte finish, the reason I took off one lippie is because it definitely does not last all day. However, compared to the usual 30 minutes that anything matte lasts on my face - including foundation, it does a wonderful job. I would say that indoors/in cool weather it lasts 3-4 hours. In the heat it pretty much doesn't stand a chance and fades after an hour or two. However even on days I have gone a full 8 hours or more without re-applying, it is very noticeable when I wash my face that it still provides a little bit of coverage even when it is not "fresh". Also, when I set it with pressed powder it lasts an hour or two longer in all weather conditions. In any case, I absolutely love this BB cream and would encourage others to try it. I will definitely be stocking up on it because it is so wonderful to get that confidence which a little bit of coverage will give without feeling like I am suffocating my skin with makeup (which just melts off me after a while anyway).

  • L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara

I love this mascara, I love the brush, I love the formula, I love the packaging...I love everything about it. Now...about the brush. One other reviewer compared it to a Christmas tree...good description. The bristles are skinny and the applicator is really shaped like a long skinny Christmas tree. This works for me because I have small eyes. Those mascaras with HUGE brushes that everybody else just loves like Last Blast, don't work for me...the brush is just way too big for my small eyes. The only drawback to the brush is that it's one of those rubbery brushes that goes "boing" when you flick it with your fingertip. I would prefer something more sturdy. Miss Manga gives my already long lashes lots and lots of good volume but there is a way to apply it to avoid clumps. I have used this method since I was 14 years old and started wearing mascara. I take the tip of the brush and apply the product close to the lash root, and then use the brush to sweep the product up through my lashes. I actually close my eyes over the brush to accomplish this…open, close, open, close, open, close. How I devised this method, I have no clue. Nobody taught this to me, all I know is that this is the way I have always applied mascara and this is the way to avoid clumps. I am a firm believer that 99% of success in makeup application is in the application method. You can take a top rated product that everybody loves and if you slap it on willy nilly, you will not get an optimal result. I usually buy waterproof mascara because I have oily skin and oily eyelids. I couldn't find Miss Manga in waterproof so I purchased it in the regular formula and I have had no problem with flaking, smearing or smudging

  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

I already own studio sculpt which is wonderful and dewy perfect for winter, so I had to try out studio fix as a potential for spring/summer .I received a generous sample of this and tried it in several situations from going outside, shopping, at work/class, and last night I went out. This can withstand anything while still being perfect. I never had to touch up from oil. Covers everything. The only situation I have not tried out are photos. I don't know if it will have that glowing white cast in photos. It's on my list to find out. I'm half Asian half Caucasian and I always have a problem finding my shade but MAC is spot on(NC40) This is completely matte and full coverage. I'm not a matte person but this is an exception for I like the shade and coverage. I spritz my face with rosewater to get rid of the super matte look, although, its till pretty matte. Its not the best for dry skin. It brought out my dry spots and dried me out even further. I had to dab some lotion over my face. Be sure to moisturize thoroughly. A little goes a long way and I was also told this mixed with moisturizer can tone down the coverage. This is why I prefer full coverage, less product. It does not come with a pump....seriously MAC? not very fair. Anyways, I'm not a sensitive skin lady/acne prone but until yet, I have not had any bad reactions other than it drying out my skin. So it's not cheap, but it's not the most expensive foundation like compared to my shiseido one. I almost love this foundation, its a very good foundation overall.

  • NYX Cosmetics Extra Creamy Round Lipstick

Very pigmented and glides on smoothly works great! Love this nude lipstick! I also have NYX's Black Label Lipstick in Nude, which looks almost exactly the same as this lipstick except that Orange Soda looks slightly more orange. As for the formulation, there is no apparent difference between Nude and Orange Soda. So, I think the only reason Nude is more expensive is because you're paying for the grape smell and cute packaging of the Black Label Lipstick line. Edit 5/6/13: I recently purchased Wet N' Wild Mega Last Matte Lipstick in Pink Suga (900B), which is an exact dupe for Orange Soda in terms of color! However, Orange Soda has a satin finish, while Pink Suga has a matte finish, which is why Pink Suga has more staying power than Orange Soda. Both lipsticks are highly pigmented! I still can't decide which one I like better--I guess it depends on the type of finish I'm going for on a certain day.

  • Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Glaze

So let me start off my saying I love any product that eliminates the use of a brush. I have this weird thing against brushes (and yes I have tried them...all...), don't judge me... Anyways, I just recently got on the blush bandwagon about two years ago maybe? I don't know why I waited so long, it makes your face look so much more...healthy! Up until this point I'd always used powder blushes, so this is my first cream blush. And I gotta say, it does pretty darn good. I have dry skin, so the creaminess definitely helps cut that out (I used to add a smidge of coconut oil to my cheekbones to get that dewy look, but with this I can skip that), and it just feels nice. The colour is great, I think I picked one a little too pink for me, but no biggie, I can live with it. The colour is very intense as well, a little goes a long way, definitely. It fades by about midday I'd say, but this happened with my powders too, and apparently this is fairly normal. It's an easy touch up, so that doesn't bother me. Only thing that does bother me is how difficult it can be to blend at times, it gets streaky - fast. You definitely gotta work it in to get a nice smooth finish, but when you do, it looks awesome. For my first cream blush, I'm pretty much converted! I may venture out and try others, but I really like this one, why would I change it?

  • Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer Cocoa Radiant

I saw this advertising on tv a lot and thought 'yeah right' another gimmicky beauty product that doesn't live up to expectations. Well, I gave in and purchased the cocoa one and WOW!! I absolutely love this moisturizer! It is so quick to use, light on the skin and dries in seconds. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a light & fuss free moisturizer. Pros: *Lives up to the promise of quick drying. I am a busy person & was tired of waiting an hour before putting on my clothes after my usual moisturizer. *Sprays very lightly and evenly. You don't end up with more product in one place. *The smell is delicious without being overpowering. *Moisturizers my skin and keeps it soft for two days. Cons: *Is a little pricey as you do go through quite a lot of product. *Makes your tile floors extremely slippy so be careful! *Probably isn't moisturizing enough for those with aging or extremely dry skin. A fantastic moisturizer that despite a few cons, is my absolute favorite. I highly recommend!

  • It Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+

First day I put it on and didn't think much about it but when I got in the car to do a car mirror check I was blown away. By my own amazing face. I purchased this CC cream because I was frustrated with how thick and cakey most foundations are (they're meant to be full coverage...) and I didn't need the thickness anymore because my skin has healed so much since bad acne days. I wanted a nice cream that would be smooth against my skin, a very light foundation, perhaps. I already had a BB cream for everyday light coverage, but I wanted something nicer for going out. PROS: - You get what you pay for. This CC cream delivers. It really makes my face look like a million dollars. I won't be needing foundation now. - You don't have to put sunscreen on underneath! Saves time - Moisturizing, gives my skin a glow! So I don't have to put moisturizer on either for it to look smooth! - Anti-aging. I'm young, but I feel great knowing that using this CC cream is going to protect my young skin now so it will still look great later! - The delicious scent. It smells so delicious!! Like fresh oranges! Very fruity and nice. - Luxury brand. I don't usually spend this much on product but the way I see it I'm getting a lot of products for the price of one, and this is a good brand, so I like knowing I'm not throwing away my money on junk. This stuff is the real deal. - Coverage is out of this world. My skin looks PERFECT. AIRBRUSHED.

    M.A.C. Lipglass

    DEELIGHT

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! It looks very natural on my medium/tan skin! I usually wear this on its own since my lips are already pretty pigmented. Recently though, Ive been applying this on top of my viva glam II l/s and it looks absolutely beautiful! I like how the cremesheen glasses are not as sticky as the tinted lipglass! Will definitely repurchase!

  • Tarte Be Mattenificent Amazonian Clay Matte Eye & Cheek Palette

I mainly wrote this review because there are not enough reviews from cooler skin toned women who might be on the fence about purchasing this palette so please read on if your interested in this Gem!! I have1 word about this palette! AMAZING..I was shopping at Ulta last week and came across this palette, I had JUST purchased the Lorac Unzipped palette, and the Lorac Pro palette which are both great palettes so I didn't think I'd need this. So I honestly just bought it on a whim, I don't own many matte shadows anyway so I figured I could use this as another everyday palette for work. I didn't read up on reviews or anything, which I usually do, and after I purchased it I felt so stupid for not reading up on it sooner because there are ALOT of bad reviews on this for it not working for people other than fair skin tones. Stop right there sister! For reference I am NC37-NC40, tan skin and oily, I really was convinced this palette wasn't even going to show up on my skintone, disappointment set in real quick.. I was ready to return it the next day without even trying it. Then I said to myself I already purchased it let's just give a go what the heck and see how it looks. OMG, beautiful on the lids! It brings a card for reference for makeup beginners and it features Hollyann from youtube? I think I have her name right, sorry if I don't! This palette comes with 6 good sized eye shadows, 1 blush, and 2 powder eyeliners, 1 brown, 1 black, and a dual ended brush. I first tried a combo of Pink outside the box on the lid, view from taupe in the crease for dimension, and two plums in the crease outer v. Then I used the powder liner in Don't stand black, ahhhhh fell in immediate love because I'm glad that this palette does work for more than fair skin toned ladies, and it looked great. I have done 2 other looks as well and love this palette so far. We already know it's packaged beautifully, and feels very sturdy. The blush Elevated that also comes in this palette is GORGEOUS, it gave me such a great glowing look. The liners work very well as well, easier to smudge for me rather than other liners in my opinion. Bottom line: this is limited edition and if you can get your hands on this GET IT, it's fairly priced for the amount of products you get, all in 1, plus a brush, I can't comment on it because I have not tried it, but overall a great investment and I'm glad I went with my gut on this one, you can purchase it at Ulta or Sephora, I will re-purchase it if I use it up quickly, or if it becomes permanent. Great job Tarte!
