  • Sebastian Microweb Fiber

This is my new favorite product for styling my bangs. It provides perfect texture that is neither crunchy nor greasy. Just don't use too much! A little of this goes a long way (I used less than a pea-sized amount on my bangs), which I think makes it worth the higher price. As others have noted, it smells great, too.

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara
    5.0

L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara

Impressive length, little volume, and clumps!

There were things I liked and didn't like about this interesting-looking mascara. The round brush is awesome at reaching every single little lash. It definitely made my lashes look much longer, but I found the effect to be more spiky than full (my eyelashes are somewhat sparse to begin with). A lash comb was 100% necessary after using this to line up my lashes properly. The formula wears well, but I prefer a "blacker" black (this was a tad gray). Overall, I'd say this is a cool gimmick that doesn't quite deliver as much as one would hope.

  • Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Parisienne Eau de Parfum Spray

After an hour of wearing a single spritz of this perfume, I found myself furiously trying to wash it off my arm. I just hate it. It was tolerable at first, if not something I particularly liked. The rose and blackberries were the dominant scents. After about 15 minutes, however, all sweetness faded and I was left mainly with what I assume is the smell of sandalwood, per the perfume's description, and the smell of dried-up roses. I generally dislike "woody" scents, and I just could not stand this. The combo of wood and rose screams "old lady" to me. I can see a woman in her sixties who smokes a lot of cigarettes and wears too much jewelery, and perhaps fur coats, wearing this - not a 27-year-old Michigan mom like myslef.

  • Wet n Wild Wild Shine Lipstick

This is a good lipstick for the price. I have it in a few frosty shades, to put over other lipsticks that are a bit too dark. It's creamy and non-drying, though the "shine" part of the name is misleading. In the shades I have, there's no real shine at all. Still, this is an excellent option for a super-low price.

  • Gillette Fusion Manual Razor
    10.0

    Gillette Fusion Manual Razor

Highly superior to any women's razor

This is the best razor I've ever used - hands down. The women's razors made by Gillette don't even come close, which is odd. Here, you get the benefit of multiple blades without all that extra material surrounding them (that always makes it hard to shave bikini areas and to avoid missing spots). The design of this razor makes it easy to reach everywhere without missing an inch. The head doesn't pivot excessively, either (a problem I have with women's versions). This one's just perfect. It's worth the extra cost when each blade lasts me nearly a month, shaving daily.

  • Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse

I had high hopes for this mousse, given the appealing ads, pretty bottle, and delicious scent. However, I don't think this had any effect on my hair at all, short of some added softness. It didn't add volume, it didn't add definition to my layers, it didn't help hold my curls and waves - nothing. Even using a very generous amount, I got no style-assisting results from this. Ignore the tempting ad campaign. This product doesn't deliver.

  • L'Oreal Upward Spiral Springing Curls Curl Defining Mousse

This is a good strong-hold mousse for difficult-to-style hair. Applied to hair before blow-drying, it helps add body to my straight flat hair. When I pick up the curling iron, this allows me to create curls that last longer than usual. This mousse seems to be more weather-resistant than most as well. Because of the awesome amount of hold, it can make hair feel a tad bit stiff, but I'll pay that price for the look.

  • Rimmel London Natural Bronzer

This is a great, inexpensive bronzer. I bought it in Sun Light, and it's a perfect not-too-orange shade for my super-pale skin. Because it's not very dark, it's hard to accidentally overload it, too. Additionally, it doesn't have excessive sparkle (a problem I've found with other bronzers). I'll buy this again when I run out.

  • Infusium Repair and Renew Leave-In Treatment

This is an excellent product for severely abused hair. Mine is pretty much fried from years of highlights and daily blow-drying and curling iron use, and this has really helped! It makes my hair softer and shinier, and I believe it's helping with the breakage issues I've been having. I'll be buying this stuff forever.

  • Avon Anew Clinical Eye Lift

The only real effect I have seen from this product is shine and stickiness. It is not remotely suitable for daytime wear, because no type of makeup could possibly be worn with it. So...no big deal, use it as a night cream, etc. BUT - it just doesn't DO anything! Granted, I don't have crepey, drooping skin to test it's effects on, but I do have some circles and puffiness, which were not at all affected by this product. It seems to just sit on the skin, eventually drying to - I'll say it again - a sticky finish. This cost too much to be so disappointing. There are so many better eye creams out there.
