  • Benefit Benetint Lip & Cheek Stain

Left to right, boy, have I heard about this. While my fellow girls on YouTube demonstrate the usage of this, I found this to be a troublesome additive to makeup. First of all, it dries in a quick, which means if you don't blend swiftly and evenly, streaks of crimson seems to be making patterns all over your cheeks. Next, the impractical brush, does anyone even use this thing? 100% of the people that I've seen use this bottle have jammed the top with their finger, shook the bottle, and applied it liberally with their fingers. That brush is way to small anyway to define cheeks, it's more like painting lines on them. Next, I found that this over time can break down into a form of formaldehyde, a type of carcinogen if I'm not mistaken through research. While I don't know much about every other makeup product and their properties, this one was tested and I do know it's some type of a hazard to use and somehow I ran into the information online. Another factor, don't ever use this on top of foundation of any sort, this will melt right into it and make it almost impossible to blend and it can stain surfaces. A glass bottle reminiscent of a nail polish bottle doesn't exactly appeal to me either. But don't think for a second, I'm just a bitter woman about this product, if you do manage to blend it, depending your skin type, it can look natural. I won't be biased about that, however, because this product does deliver a crimson finish, it's not exactly a few people's idea of a perfect flush since some people already have a problem of redness in their facial areas and there isn't much of a color selection other than this one color and the new release, posytint which is the sister shade to this in a pink tinge. I'll oppose this product's values though, because I just don't think it's the best hyped product ever.

    Urban Decay Eyeshadow

    Hallejulah! Colors So Vivacious!

I must admit at first, the casing didn't appeal to me. I was always the tradition luxe appeal kind of gal so even the subtle black or silver casing at the drugstore caught my attention better than Bonne Bell's colorful tactics. However, after a while, I got curious as to why these sell plenty at Sephora and with a swipe of my finger, color instantly true to the pot! I purchased a few and took them home and read the little embossed logo at the bottom that states it's "Good for one fare" then I caught on and these are called "Token Eyeshadows" so I thought it was cute and creative; that sure changed my opinion. These colors are very true to life, rich, vibrant, and come in TONS of finishes. I couldn't believe it when I had done a beautiful plum smokey look, it looked fabulous! Not to mention that even though they sell a primer, this lasted me the whole day without needing one. And the more better side of it? These are usable wet for a very opaque dramatic look, as if the colors dry weren't already intense. These range from the lightest matte peachy and white pretty shades to the sultriest blacks and browns in shimmery, sheens, and mattes. Ooh, how I LOVE you Urban Decay. I'm very strongly judgemental when it comes to eyeshadow so if it even leaves fall out or creases, I'm an unhappy camper already. This one definitely is as good as MAC, if not even better.

  • Max Factor Volume Couture Mascara

This is a decent everyday mascara, while it isn't exactly a glam factor as it manifests, it does deliver a hint of length and volume with a swipe or two. While it's a drug store brand, I'm happy to say it does outperform quite a few department store regulars. A swipe or two of this and you're done, even more can give you a faux lash effect but it can stick together and clump so there's the minus points right there. For a price of around six to eight dollars, this is a deal for a good mascara with chic casing, because I'm hesitant to keep anything ultra bright in my see-through Sephora makeup bag for some reason, this is minimal but very fashionable to keep.

  • Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Smooth Hold

This eyeshadows don't come in far fetched creative colors but they are a very complimenting line, these can all blend and go together with each other. I must say though that some of the medium to lighter colors came across as a disappointment while I find I'm swiping my brushes a few times over the pot for one application and that fall out is rather common with these eyeshadows. While they do deliver a beautiful sheen of color, unless a primer was applicated, these don't stand the day and if your skin is oily, you can say bye bye to them within a couple hours. A primer is a must, I emphasize that. The cases are chic, the plastic clear cover slides out instead of the twist or click on caps so I thought this was a bit more creative and practical. At the end of the day though, these are my favorite everyday eyeshadows as their neutrals and browns look very flattering on anyone as well as their plums. I still wouldn't make this my whole collection, however, because I love rich pigments

    CHI Silk Infusion

    Silky Strands

A dime size application should give great results to medium length hair and a quarter size for longer hair, however too much of this can look like someone melted butter and combed it down your strands. A lightweight application of this delivers a soft and shiny finish and with a flat iron, this is basically almost like a heat barrier but reduces the usage of any finishing creams, sprays, and extra serums. The only faulty feature that some people may find a turn off about this hair emulsion is that it can smell like a men's cologne and a woman may not exactly want to carry that scent around for other people to get a whiff at and wonder what it might be. Unless you want to smell like you've been snuggling up to your lover or hadn't showered from your one night stand last night, I'd use this very minimally. Otherwise, still a good product.

    Biosilk Silk Therapy Original

    Glistening Goddess... or Olivia McOily

This is a perfect concealer for roots to disguise damage into lush, thicker hair. Now, applied very minimally with the palms of the hands and slightly patted on the top sides of the mane gives a healthy sheer, weightless shine to the hair that doesn't falter during the day but a heavy goop of this anywhere in hair will end up looking like someone dumped a bucket of chicken grease all over you so be cautious. I do like this product and when it's applied sheerly throughout hair at the lightest application, it creates almost a heat protectant barrier for a flat iron and it creates the smoothest and silkiest locks of straight hair without a sticky or thick, stiff feeling and no other products need to be applied. This can either make or break your hair for the day.

  • BioSilk Hydrating Shampoo

    BioSilk Hydrating Shampoo

Please Read The Product Title Carefully, Now Think.

Irony, perfect irony. Shampoos are never really hydrating, in fact they strip moisture. Unfortunately, this is one of the perfect examples of when salon formulators get too ahead of themselves. First of all, this didn't lather too well which I didn't mind too mind but the end results paired with the coordinating conditioner was nothing more than just a simple, everyday shampoo and conditioner finish, in fact maybe even below that standard. I really wanted to like this, so much that I thought maybe a fifth or sixth attempt may "improve" the hair by frequent usage only to find a greasy scalp by the end of the night, lifeless tired roots, and dirty, oily hair that needed to be rewashed begging me to toss this out the window. Harsh to say but the equivalent to this doesn't even come close to any salon product I've already tried and I've danced with quite a few in the shower, well, not literally. But needless to say, pocket your expenses for this one, unless you like the flat Adams Family women vibe.

    BioSilk Hydrating Conditioner

    Gasp! Well, Actually... Nothing Happened.

I must admit I expect something out of this conditioner, something better than what happened to my hair. I still had frizzy hair but now the roots felt weighed down a bit, there was build up within just a couple uses, and my hair didn't change other than the preceding comments. Now, for the price you pay for these shower items, it's a lot to take in that you'd just be fooled by the name BioSilk. As great as I've found the Silk Therapy serums for my dry ends, this one didn't contribute to bettering the look nor did it change much compared to the regular shampoo and conditioner that I used that came from the mass retailer store. Impressed at all? Hardly. For the amount you get paired with a shampoo, you're better off buying another salon duo for a larger quantity and better results.

  • Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Color

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Color

Satin Finish Resulting To Sand Papered Lips

I have a couple of these and found that having Chanel's prestigious name doesn't have anything to do with their lipsticks because these are fairly adequate to use, however, such a shortcoming in luxury quality. It's a price to pay to have the elegant Chanel logo but is it worth it? As my lips exposed peeling, chapped skin while wearing this lipstick the unflattering sight was magnified. Although a cream lipstick, this doesn't do much to assure the wearer a comfortable wear as throughout the day, I found my lips in need of emollients to soften them and hydration. I'd suggest a balm worn under this to maximize the wear and reduce the dried and cold look from the lips such as Carmex or Blistex as they soothe the extra layer of skin that can be further buffed off by the wear of this lipstick. The color payoff is beautiful but I found the deeper shades short of pigment and left nothing but a sheer tint equivalent to a gloss.

  • Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Sculpting Foam

No stiffness here as long as you know how to work it into damp hair. I love massaging this into my root area working more towards the back beginning with the locks behind my bags and then blow drying my hair upwards with a medium size roll brush. It adds body without weight and the hard feeling of gel or hairspray. The extra benefit of this product is that it lasts without creating so much buildup in the hair that it feels uncomfortable unlike some other products out in the market right now. Paul Mitchell's definitely made it's mark with their products nationwide and products like these that are so simple yet so effective that make them one of my favorite dependable hair styling formulas. It's almost like having Mariah Carey and Beyonce's hair without the overnight stylist!
