    Garnier HerbaShine Color Creme

    Does the Job... All Right

I actually used this hair dye recently and I chose the wrong color for me as I didn't feel like reddish dyes suit me but the nature it left my hair in left it parched. After blow drying my hair like I usually do, I noticed my ends more wispier than usual and with a dime size amount of serum, it was back to appearing healthy again. What I disliked about it was that it left my hair damaged more than the other brands or types of hair dyes I've used. This even damaged my hair more than Revlon's budget hair dye Color Silk. I actually like Color Silk. For about seven dollars, I could find better hair dyes out there that deliver a better health outcome for my hair and color that shines. I felt this color dulled quite easily and with just a few shampoos, it's pretty much stripped of its own color halfway. The next time I'm in the dye section, I'll leave it up to another brand to satisfy my need for ravishing color. For details about the texture, it's about similar to a lotion but not quite as thick as a cream and one box can usually cover about shoulder length's hair. I've found myself needing two boxes since my hair at the time of posting here is about just a couple of inches above my waist at the longest layers in the back. The scent still smells like regular hair dye although there are claims of formulation with a scent, it didn't do much to ease breathing just as any hair dye would. The conditioner is in a packet which I disliked because I often don't use all the conditioner and perhaps this was intended for just one use but most conditioners I've found in boxes have been in multiple use tubes and I can get about two to three conditionings from it and also be able to seal it back up. For those of you who are choosy about gloves, the latex gloves in the dye box are sturdy and it helps not to have your hands dyed or exposed to any chemicals. Some dyes do just come with plastic, cellophane like gloves and those I find are uncomfortable and not formfitting to use. Anyone allergic to latex may want to skip using the gloves or purchase their own gloves or even skip this box of dye all together since the quality isn't at the best level there should be offered for hair dye. A competitive similar hair dye on the market is definitely outperforming this right now which is at almost the exact same price.

  • Maybelline New York Shine Seduction Glossy Lipcolor

First of all, I must say that the casing for this lipgloss is uniquely better than most I've seen with the plain translucent plastic tube whether it was the squeeze type formula or with wands, plastic or glass pots, or even in twist-up balm form. The angle slides lipgloss and deposits color evenly on the lips which makes application much easier and to help control the even layers of color without layering so much it feels like a mound of product. I also like that fact that they did not smack the brand name all across the tube, this was more subtle and chic. The formulation isn't sticky and it actually deposits a hint of color that lasts and can flatter many lipsticks and different finishes of lipsticks. The colors it comes in also are a great a choice of shades so I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone owned quite a few of these, especially because it's definitely worth the money spent on them. Sunday coupons usually feature these on newspapers and I take advantage of them. This is great choice if you don't want a stain or a heavy opaque lipstick!

  • Maybelline New York XXL Volume & Length Waterproof Microfiber Mascara

Boy, did I dislike this product. First of all, mascara shouldn't ever be such as a hassle in my opinion that it should be in two steps otherwise, that's just some weight on some esteem (personally not mine but maybe someone else's to need more product) and this product was completely drying. I experienced eye lash fall out with this product which is a sign it isn't healthy as well as the development of the formula was drying itself. After probably a few uses of this, I noticed product already beginning to build up around the brush crevices and around the mouth of the tube. This tremendously stuck my eyelashes together so clumps galore, everybody! In my opinion, it is the original pink and green mascara formulation they have on the market paired with a primer and this made my eyelashes feel heavy and unnatural, not to mention super stiff! No competition here, this wouldn't even make it past auditions in my book.

I Won't Be Missing This At All

My absolute honest opinion about this eyeshadow is that it's a hit or miss. Some pigments show more lively than others but I felt that the formula wasn't well pressed so loose powder would ruin my complexion with fall out during application. Fortunately, these are one of the easier eyeshadows to wipe away but that also says a lot about the wear which is that it fades quickly. After a couple hours, I decided to touch up in the lady's room with a bit of blot powder for my shine, I noticed that the Maybelline eyeshadow just left a faint wash of color that didn't look so appealing. My eyes were no longer defined with them but sort of just washed with one color unevenly because when it gets blended with any oils in the skin, you can pretty much say goodbye to it. Needless to say, this did build up on me and the collected particles of color made it seem like I drew a line of color on the crease of my eyelid and forgot about shading the rest. The matte colors are more tamed than all the other finishes and if used with a primer, the outcome isn't so bad nor does it crease as much but quite often the color in the case will create some deception as soon as it is applied, some colors are better than others.

  • Maybelline New York Expert Tools Blush Brush

While this does fulfill it's duties as a blush brush, it's not exactly so soft either. However, on the positive note this brush isn't so densely packed that it would leave a streak of color that would be hard to blend but delivers more of a sheer film of powder or cream to the cheeks that can easily be blended because of such a light application. I dislike though that even though it is tapered, the bristles are a bit uneven causing some stinging because the bristles are so very coarse especially when a few is sticking out from the bunch. Target, Wal-Mart, and other stores have mass produced brands that are generic that can be compared to this depending on your preference, especially because this is a short brush, it can be easy to be heavy handed with it and if that's the case, I'd choose a longer handle. I had this for a while until I really got tired of feeling like my cheeks were being exfoliated with this brush

  • Maybelline New York ExpertWear Eye Shadow Trios

I wanted to really like this especially with three coordinating shades to shade/highlight, contouring, and defining. But the price you may for this item is a deal turned into a half smart transaction and half not so considering that the pigments are as vibrant at all or as true to shade to the color designated in the case. You might as well get one median color from the three of them and use it because as I tried to create a full eye look with these, I only found that these colors are so alike it's hard to tell that I've used more than just one shade. Less expensive products on the market even outperform this trio such as Jesse's Girl's eyeshadows at Rite Aid, Jane's EyeZings, and the best inexpensive bet of them all - the NYX trios found at select certain stores. This fell below my expectations and I will not be returning to it.

  • Maybelline New York Great Lash Washable Mascara

Lash tint. That's all I really have to say this really is. If you're not looking to volumize, lengthen, or add much effect to your eyelashes, this basically can just substitute for a clear gel adding more hold for any eyelash curling with a hint of color. The watermelon color themed tube doesn't appeal me to either, it screams so retro as this item has never been repackaged and I can even recall my aunt having this in her dresser during her high school days decades ago. I'm not fond of not nor of the boring wand that seems to do nothing to flatter my eyelashes and I must admit, my eyelashes are already quite long but just a bit sparse on the ends and it has a curl so when I apply this, it shouldn't take too much effort defining them. Wrong. It takes about three to four coats at the ends to see a major difference. Spare the five bucks and add a dollar or two more on the better mass retailed mascaras that outperform this a million times over.

    Chapstick Classics

    Multi-Purpose Tool

You know, the funniest part about Chapstick in my own opinion is that I've never seen anyone actually finish one of these. Chapstick has made a mark as lip balms and click sticks everywhere seem to be called "Chapsticks" but this is a relieving lip balm that has nourishing properties but I find it slightly overrated as it doesn't seem to last as long as the others I do love more. I actually know a tip about Chapstick Classic and it is that I know a few girls who use it as a substitute for a brow groomer before filling it with brown or taupe eyeshadow to shape their brows, they tell me it's like the gels that come in the compact cosmetics for brow grooming. I've tried this but not for applying cosmetics but I've found it handy to use when I pluck and trim my eyebrows as they hold them in good shape. My favorite is Cherry and I like that it leaves a soft hue on the lips that look just bitten.

  • Victoria's Secret So Sexy Nourishing Shampoo for Dry/Damaged Hair

So Sexy? More like ordinary. Because this was formulated for dry and damaged hair, I expected it to add any sleek or shine but I found that it cleansed, conditioned, and dried like any other conditioner on the market for normal hair and it didn't leave anything for me to remember it by other than the scent. The signature scent of these shampoos seem to be a deception into luxury only to find that after the day has ended and the scent has faded that this may not be worth spending extra on; it's not a salon product anyway.

  • Carmex Jar

    Carmex Jar

    First Aid In a Pot

I have to laugh at the posted price tag they've got on here at TotalBeauty.com because it says $16.99. It's really not, it's about a dollar or less a jar so for anyone looking up reviews, don't fret. It's not made by Chanel or anything to cost that much, haha. Ok, let's get started with the review, shall we? This is my ultimate lip solution. It doesn't have the best scent and yes it does smell a bit like the pharmacy but it's really not that bothersome unless you're putting the jar up to your nose all day, it does fade. I love how this nourishes my lips and keeps them hydrated, so thanks to this lipstick doesn't ever look chunky! What's great is that this is also soothing for cracked lips or cold sores so when my lips are a little painful in the winter, I apply this and it's instant gratification. If you totally abhor the smell, I'd recommend Burt's Bees which has similar effects without the heavy scent but I feel isn't as moisturizing as this when I ultimately need it the most.
