    Cetaphil Antibacterial Gentle Cleansing Bar

    A Featured Shower Regular!

My sensitive skin will let me know when a product is not being kind to it and because this actually left my skin soft and smooth, it was a good sign. First of all, this bar is pretty creamy for a solid soap so it applies almost like a body wash because it also lathers richly. When I rinse it off my skin, I feel the difference of cleanliness and moisture when my skin has dried because I see no ashiness. This also cleanses the face better than their cream or liquid cleansers. Now here's the catch, it's about three dollars a bar. It doesn't seem much but when you compare it to the prices of multiple pack shower soaps and find that this product melts and disappears easily with a few rinses of water on the bar, you'll find that you're shelling out more to have it. I still find it a benefit to have because it's gentle and effective so in the end, pulling out a couple more dollars seems worth it to hypersensitive skinned people like myself and my younger sister who has eczema. She and I have complete opposite skin types as I am oily and she's very dry yet this product works for either of us.

Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets

    Better Than a Blot Powder

Film blots are one of the best ways to touch up makeup without adding more product onto the face. I've always hated feeling the heaviness of product so I like to pat this anywhere that I'm shiny. For fifty sheets, it's a great deal as some private labels sell the similar type product that does the job equally well for a much more expensive price. There isn't any additives or powder on this sheet so there isn't any worrying about being allergic or irritated to the product itself. What's neat is that this package has an adhesive in the inner cover and everytime I open one, it sticks to an oil absorbing sheet and dispenser will become easier than ever because I hated getting any oils on my finger on these especially when I'm trying to separate them from each other.

  • Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cooling Toner

Clean & Clear Daily Pore Cooling Toner

    This Makes Me Shine...Literally. Yikes.

If you were like me who has tried this, you've probably fell into the trickery that the skincare industry wants you to believe that pore size can be altered. False. It only takes genes and good care for skin in order for it to be ideal, otherwise, there isn't much else we can do about it. But I'll tell you that this is a cooling toner but hardly does the job of getting rid of the remainder of residue as I've found other toners have done which obviously means more blemishes for me. This just brought a cooling effect which basically comes down to a refresher but not worthy of the name of toners. There are better in the market and there are more effective products compared to this, don't even bother.

    Urban Decay Shadow Box

    My Picture Book

This was my purpose of a trip to Sephora the other day and I'm glad I was able to swatch them before I purchased the palette. I went home and played with it and endless looks can be created with this palette from classic to chic and classy depending on which shadows and combinations are used. I love how velvety they are and are finely milled and pressed which reduces the risk of fall out and cracking. Not only do the eyeshadows feel velvety, so does the palette cover that delivers a stylish glamour feel but with an edge. The true secret of making these vibrant shadows last forever is the primer potion the company was generous enough to give as part of the palette so from morning to night, this will stay put and allow the colors to be as vibrant and crease free as they were freshly applied, not that it really needs a primer. I've found the durability of these eyeshadows are remarkable plus the colors are true to the depiction of colors and the pot it originates from. These are highly blendable which reduces any streaking and unsightly color deposited in mounds unevenly; there will be none of that. For $36.00, this is a steal because each individual eyeshadow is about $16.00 alone so these nine eyeshadows, primer potion, and creative palette will definitely give you a reason to grab these off the shelves.

  • The Body Shop Papaya Body Scrub

The Body Shop Papaya Body Scrub

    Invigorating To Beautifying

Creamy and lush, this body scrub is nothing short of spectacular, not only is papaya great for the skin but the exfoliation process unravels gorgeous glowing skin that is soft and supple but also radiant. And you may find that your skin stays soft longer than you'd expect because I certainly did. I use this with the coordinating body butter and it is absolutely fantastic to have these around because they make my skin so even, so touchable, and so healthy. Scrubbing dead cells off the body is essential because without so, dead skin sits there and basically looks dry or dreadful. Some people were born with perfect skin thanks to their genes but thanks to this, I can slip my way into that crowd cheating with this jar. The scrubbers aren't so rough that they're abrasive, it's actually massaging to the body and isn't overdrying because some formulations of exfoliants have been to me but this was very giving and generous to feed my skin what it precisely needed. The price tag for the jar though is a lot of pennies into that piggy bank but I don't exfoliate everyday anyway because doing so can overdry and damage skin as all exfoliants would, once a week is recommended so the jar should last a couple or few months. I've actually spent twice the amount for another body exfoliant that hardly did anything for me at all so I was glad to have found this. And the best part? The subtle tropical scent that fills the air.

The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day Cream

    Smoothing, Soothing, Softening

Very nourishing product. Very. I find moisturizers heavy regardless if they're oil free or not quite often so I usually just stick to gel moisturizers and emulsions or even sheer hydrating sprays but this is a little wonder in a jar. First of all, it's aloe - one of the most caring ingredients that is natural and good for the skin and aloe has been known to even skin tones, reduce redness and skin stress, and even deliver a natural hydrating layer that absorbs into the skin which lasts longer than ordinary artificial moisturizers because the skin fully absorbs and stores it. This is what this moisturizer does. I break out to many moisturizers ranging from mass retail to department store retail, it doesn't really make a difference but this is really light and non-greasy as well as very sheer. It makes my skin feel soft to the touch and even to the look yet the smell isn't even bothersome, it's actually a reminder of fresh milk or something rather soft in someway. They got their description down to a tee when they said it is an aloe soothing day cream because it delivers its promises, at least in my opinion.

    The Body Shop Brilliance Powder

    Swipe Sexy All Over

Dazzle anywhere on your body with this. The sparkles are finely milled so they can barely be called glitter but it delivers a great sheen to the body where you need to accentuate sexiness such as cleavage, shoulders, legs, arms, anywhere you'd want to highlight. I love how this is so versatile and it comes with a brush and pump at the end but the issue is that sometimes the pump will puff out too much shimmer powder if you press it too much then the powder from the brush is released and can flutter everywhere. For twenty dollars, it does last quite a while and a fairly reasonable price for the content and amount considering loose powders sold in tiny jars can be as high as $20.00 alone; this can actually be considered a deal.

Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush

Might Be More of a Dry Skin Blot Than Oily, Huh?

This sets makeup well but I have to say that in the market, it may not be the best depending on your skin type. I have combination oily skin and even just after a couple of hours during the winter, I find myself shiny especially in the t-zone which means this didn't do the job right the first time so I'll blot and I apply again. Building this up can look cakey and unnatural, leaving skin feeling heavy as well. I've found though for $18.50, it's a great deal considering it comes with a brush of its own but don't get me wrong because this brush can only do as far as the t-zone because it would take forever and an uneven application if you decide you'll be using this regularly as a setting brush for this powder. Yes, this does come in a translucent finish but I do find that it can add a pink tinge to any yellow based undertone but this may be good for some people who need to neutralize that. Overall, this powder is very velvety to the touch but it doesn't give skin a nice glow or finish as it can overdo the matte effect and won't last long until oily or normal skin can look like an oil slick. I actually prefer the compact version when it comes to this because it saves space, it is less messy, and because the matte finish doesn't last too long it is more convenient for touch ups.

  • Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Luminous Shadow

I basically viewed these as a pigment packaged because it deposited a nice fairly opaque wash of color over my lids and they came in many shades. What the result was though was a lot of fall out because you had to dip the sponge tip applicator inside and pull it out and apply so it would mean it would get messy especially because the product is loose. Personally, I'd prefer it if they just kept it in little jars for easier use and access and maybe even blendable with other shades to make more colors so that came across as a disappointment for me and another one would be that the spongetip could barely hold the particles, I basically would grab an eyeshadow brush and pat it on the sponge to get a better application and do more with it. It just seemed more like an inconvenience than a tool. The amount of product was also questionable because I believe it was around between five to eight dollars purchased plus tax and it was a minimal amount for that price for something that performed on the average. MAC pigments comes in what seems as almost four times the size for only twice the price as this and it can be used for multiple advantages and can be blended with other shades. Another comparison is Jesse's Girl pigments which are only about four dollars for twice the amount or more of the product in this VS tiny container. Either way, I feel like it may have been a good thing that this product was discontinued.

    Clinique Long Last Glosswear

    I'll Just Gloss Over This

As great as I think Clinique products are, this one failed to meet my satisfaction I must say. First of all, the jubilant rich colors that are seen in the tube are hardly the same pigments when applied unless it was a glaze over lipstick to boost the finish as similar as shine treatments to dull colored hair. The shades are so tempting and it reels in patrons over to the Clinique counter but it left me puzzled as I couldn't tell whether it did much or not. So I purchased one myself, took it home, and decided to wear it alone and found that I can get the same results are a tinted balm. While this smoothened out my lips and avoided any dryness while it was on, I was particularly unhappy that the tube didn't deposit the color I was hoping it would. The formula isn't sticky but it can feel a bit heavy and greasy so on hot and humid days, I'd avoid this. I do like the fact that it comes in a sponge tip wand because I like all my lipglosses to come that way, I feel I get more even application that way but with a low color payoff like this, would it even matter?
