    Fake Bake Flawless Self-Tan Liquid

Fake Bake and St. Tropez for the win!

I have to say I have a hard time deciding if I love Fake Bake more than I love St. Tropez but for different reasons. I love that with this tanner you get the actual product, a separate spray applicator, a pair of reusable latex gloves, and a mitt! I was very new to the self tanning thing but after reading the instructions, exfoliating the day before, making sure my legs were hair free, and figuring out the best technique for myself, I applied my first application! After putting on the latex gloves, I put the mitt over one hand, spray about three sprays onto the mitt, and do gentle circular motions starting from my feet and working up to my face. The smell of this tanner is very summery in my opinion, it just makes me want to go on vacation, and the color is absolutely gorgeous. I have a medium brown complexion and tan very quickly in the summer so I try to stick to one application a week during the winter time. The tan looks completely natural, no sign of any orange skin, it dries very quickly, and I don't worry about sweating it off. One con of this product; it seems to stain intimates a tiny bit so be weary about what time you apply so you don't risk staining your bed sheets (hasn't happened to me.) I also love the fact that this formula is gentle, I can comfortably apply this to my sensitive face and it does not burn or aggravate my skin in any way, and I just love knowing that my face matches the rest of my body! I use three sprays every time I apply to a different part of my body and have had this product for about 3 months; I would say it lasts a while but that's depending on how much you use it. For a high end tanner I think the price point is pretty fair too; especially considering that it actually works!

    Benefit Big Easy

    Yes, yes, yes!!

I tend to get oily around my forehead mostly and occasionally my chin; I wanted to try this foundation because the claims intrigued me. It says right on the packaging that it is a Liquid to Powder formula which seemed pretty cool- I guess eliminating the need to apply powder after your liquid application. As with all Benefit cosmetics, the tube packaging is absolutely adorable with a silver top that you can let the product stand upright and striped nude/peach tube. I have been using the shade 05 beige and I feel the shade is a bit light for my medium tan skin but always contour so this works well for me as I turn so pale in the winter time; a BIG plus with this product-it has an SPF of 35 which I love even during the colder months as the sun is still doing its damage! Before applying, I like to squeeze the tube inwards and just make sure nothing has settled (even with glass bottles and such I always shake prior to applying) and squeeze half a dime size amount onto the back of my hand to use for my face (I have used a dime size amount and it was way too much for my face). I use my foundation brush and just dab it on the red parts of my face, mostly my cheeks, a tad on my chin, the bridge of my nose and above my eyebrows and let it sit for just a second to absorb; than I blend downwards. I absolutely love the way my skin feels and looks after I apply this foundation; it doesn't feel heavy, greasy, or like my skin can't breathe either, which is great! The back of the tube says it finishes lightweight and feels smooth like a powder and I have to say I agree with both of those claims. My skin doesn't feel heavy or "clogged up" like some foundations have done to my skin, but the coverage is spectacular and my redness is gone (my main skin concern). Because this does finish like a powder I do not have to finish with a powder which is perfect for when I have an appointment and am short on time or just don't feel like doing the extra step. I wear makeup for 8+ hours and love the fact that with this foundation I am not greasy in pictures or when I look in the mirror to touch up my lipstick. Another plus about this wonderful foundation is you get more product in the tube than most one ounce foundations come with, this tube has one point eighteen ounces for $38! Considering that I use so little everyday I can see this foundation lasting me at least six months so it's a terrific value. I will be repurchasing this product!

  • L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Washable Bold Eye Mascara

L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Washable Bold Eye Mascara

Carbon black is my favorite drugstore

I've heard time and time again this mascara is THE dupe for Diorshow mascara and was skeptical to try it but MAN it does do a great job of making my lashes look fantastic. I love the sleek packaging of this mascara and the gold top and gold writing; it's not crazy with wording or anything like that. The applicator brush is somewhat large just like the Diorshow applicator so that's definitely a check off the list; it's very wet and the name "Carbon black" is very fitting. I ALWAYS buy mascara in the blackest shade they come in as I have very dark eyebrows and eyelashes and anything lighter than the blackest shade would probably not even show up on my lashes. The formula does not clump on my lashes whatsoever, separates beautifully, and makes my already curly lashes attempt to touch my eyebrows (which I love.) I love using this mascara on my bottom lashes because it makes them as long as my top lashes but doesn't make them look spidery! I like to put on two coats if I am going out or it's night as it just gives my lashes an even more dramatic look. When I am not using my They're Real mascara I am using this mascara to achieve the look I want for my lashes. This mascara is around $8, how can you feel guilty for buying something that does such magical things for your eyelashes, go out and try this!!

  • It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil

I am new to using it Cosmetics but am happy I have this pencil and have been using it daily. It is a "universal" eyebrow pencil that is supposed to be great for all brow colors so I was a little apprehensive to use this on my dark brown brows but it works wonderfully and seems to blend in perfectly! I LOVE the spoolie brush on this eyebrow pencil on the other side; it is a softer spoolie than many I have used and doesn't poke me when I am brushing through or cause irritation like some of the harder brushes have on me. I like to softly line the bottom of my brow and than softly fill in any spots that do not have hair growth or areas that are bare on my brow; I use the spoolie to brush through my brow and distribute the product from my arch to the tail and it gives it a natural look but still filled it. It is definitely a different look than some eyebrow pencils I've used like the Brow Wiz or the Microbrow pencil by NYX but I love this pencil and the spoolie on the other side.

  • Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer

Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer

Use Spackle Mattifying Under Make-up Primer

I use the Spackle for oil skin called Mattifying Under Make-up Primer and I LOVE it! I love Benefit the Porefessional but get super turned off having to pay $31 for a three quarter ounce package of primer. This primer by Laura Geller is $30 and you get TWO ounces!! I am going to continue purchasing this primer instead because I feel like they are extremely similar and you get more than double the amount of product for a $1 less; I would rather pay less and get more product that does the exact same thing for my face! Anyways, I figured this formula would be a great choice for me as I tend to get oily on my forehead and struggle with that; I focus the primer on my forehead but do use a little on my cheeks and my chin and use my hands to apply all over my face. The color of this primer is like a nude, peach color that blends beautifully into my tan skin and does not cake up like some primers I've used. I keep comparing it to the Benefit primer because it looks and feels so similar but is less expensive! The packaging for Benefit primer is absolutely adorable but basically you're just paying $31 for the cuteness of the tube and so much less product than this! I will continue to purchase this primer and receive so much more product! Laura Geller has quickly become one of my favorite makeup lines because of this primer and their baked products!

  • Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick
    5.0

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

Not super long lasting but great pigmentation

I too have to agree with the other reviewers and say that I was disappointed with the amount of time this lipstick lasted on my lips; I put it on and it was absolutely beautiful and I believed it was going to stay put all day but noticed about two hours later that I could start seeing my natural lip color again and was super disappointed! Right off the bat I am mad at the fact that part of the name is LONG wear and it definitely does not live up to that claim; aside from one of the biggest claims of this product there are a handful of pros of this lipstick. Too Faced came out with a Melted line and a Melted Metallic line; I am not a fan of the metallic line because it makes me feel like I am trying to get an 80s kind of look with just a basic nude eye and fun lip color and it's just not my style. I do not like that metallic look that that specific line has. However, the original line has some beautiful colors that I absolutely adore; I have the shade Melted Violet which is a purple pink shade with just the right amount of sheen to it so it doesn't not look metallicy but makes my lips look somewhat shiny and stand out. I love wearing this specific shade at night time or for date nights as it is not a color you would typically see in the day time or running errands (for me at least.) This is a great fall color that I can pair with a neutral eye or a dramatic eye and it will still be fun and it will stand out. The formula is creamy and with this specific applicator, it's like a spongy type so squeezing the tube just a little bit will produce plenty of lipstick for my entire lip. I was pleasantly surprised that the smell of this lipstick is quite nice as well as most lipsticks don't have a smell or kind of smell bad. The tube has Too Faced written in gold and a beautiful gold top that you twist to open; I have never had a sponge applicator like that but it doesn't irritate my lips or bother me when I use it so that's a nice change. The box does say intense color which I also agree with as the pigmentation of this lipstick is very strong; I don't need to reapply the lipstick over and over again to get a great color payoff which makes it a better value for my money as well. Aside from the HUGE con that this lipstick does not last for hours as the box says, this is an OKAY lipstick so I am rating it a 5. I have three other shades of these lipsticks that I have not tried yet however I already know the lasting power stinks but otherwise am nervous to try them! If you're expecting a long lasting lipstick as this product claims, you won't get it out of this lipstick; if you want great pigmentation and a creamy lipstick, this is the lipstick to try! HOWEVER, this is one of the most drying lipsticks I've ever came across. Putting chap stick on my lips after this product dries seems to be the only way this lipstick does not cause me irritation. I have been on the hunt for a long lasting lipstick that does not chafe my lips but this does not fit! It's very drying!

  • BareMinerals Complexion RescueTinted Moisturizer Hydrating Gel Cream SPF 30

I tried this product because of the claim that it is HYDRATING right in the name; this product delivers! I tend to get oily ONLY on my forehead and my cheeks and chin get dry and wanted to test this product out and see if it would keep my skin feeling hydrated without getting cakey. I tried it out this morning for the first time and I love it! I squeeze about a dime size amount onto the back of my hand and started dabbing it onto my forehead, cheeks, and chin and started blending with my fingers (that's what the packaging says.) It is a creamy formula that feels great on my skin and doesn't feel runny or TOO thick. It was a pretty light layer and it did even out my skin pretty well with just a little bit but with the redness I have on my face and especially my cheeks I did another coat. 08 Spice seems to work perfectly for my skin tone as I have a tan skin tone with plenty of unwanted red in there; this shade seemed to hide all my redness while still maintaining the color of my skin(and not making me look like I applied another face) but providing great coverage that is buildable! This shade is best suited for tan to dark skin with golden tones; I don't really know if my skin has golden tones but this blended beautifully on my skin. As with all other Bare Minerals products you're going to pay over $20 for this foundation, but that is pretty well priced in my opinion as this foundation has OVER a full ounce of product in it; I also like Bare Minerals products as they are on the high end side but are not nearly as pricey as some of their fellow competitors. On days when I do not want to wear much makeup but still want to know that I have something on I think this is a great foundation to reach for; it is a lightweight formula but provides great coverage and as I said it is build able which makes it even better. I love the shade I picked as well, great buy! I will definitely repurchase when I use up my Spice!

  • E.L.F. Mascara Primer

    E.L.F. Mascara Primer

    My favorite mascara primer EVER!

I have used many drugstore and high end brands of mascara primers from NYX to Lancome which are always terrific, however I finally found the least inexpensive one ever; the ELF mascara primer for $3! I use this religiously and unless I receive a free sample of something else, I only purchase this primer for my eyes. ELF products are incredible and the prices are unbeatable and this is by far one of my favorites. I love the packaging of ELF products as it is just a sleek, simple, black packaging with the ELF logo and the name of the product. This particular packaging for this mascara primer is kind of cheap looking but I really have no complaints as this mascara is the best ever and it's only $3, why should I care what the bottle looks like? The applicator brush is a bigger brush that easily coats every lash with the white formula, so I can see exactly which lashes have had primer put on them and after I apply the mascara, which lashes need to be covered by it. I believe it is fool proof formula as it's so white that I can see it perfectly against my black lashes and if it accidentally gets on my eyelid or side of my nose, it easily can be seen and wiped away. It creates a great protective barrier between my lashes and mascara and makes it so much easier to remove my eye makeup at the end of the day without the tugging or leftover mascara. I notice that my mascara adheres wonderfully to the primer and my lashes are long, super dark and perfectly curled as usual. I run through this product very quickly for some reason so I always have two or three bottles on hand so in case I run out. I highly recommend giving this amazing primer a try, especially if you're sick of paying much higher for other brands.

  • Mally Beauy Perfect Prep Poreless Primer

I have been using the Mally prep primer for about six months and I love it! I have the 1 ounce size and the jar it comes in is huge but I figured there wouldn't be that much product in there, but there is! It has lasted me since April of this year and I still have half the jar left! I made the mistake of putting way to much on the first few times I tried the product so use this sparingly, a little goes a long way. First impressions- it has a beautiful light pink hue to it and smells pretty neutral. What makes this product a true win for me is the consistency; it literally feels like butter and when I rub it into my skin it is so incredibly soft and makes my skin so smooth. I put this primer on my forehead(I tend to get oily there mostly) and the sides of my nose(to blend outward), and my chin and blend outward spreading throughout my face. After rubbing in my skin feels even, soft, and doesn't have a greasy silicone feeling to it either. I am very used to using silicone based primers but this feels different; I love it! It is a high end primer so you're looking upwards of $35+, but I think this primer is super soft and evens out my skin beautifully, I recommend it!

  • Benefit Lemon Aid
    10.0

    Benefit Lemon Aid

    Lemon aid is good!

Another great product by Benefit!; Lemon aid is a color correcting eyelid primer that is yellow and is supposed to cancel out blues and violets that show on the eyelid. I have been using this concealer for almost six months and finally saw pan yesterday;I use the tiniest amount as this product will cover my entire eyelid with just the smallest amount because it blends beautifully because of how creamy it is. It just gives my eyelids a nice neutral base that I can apply my eyeshadow and trust that it will stay all day; I definitely feel that the eyeshadow I apply on top of the eyelid primer whether it be a shimmer or matte adheres right onto the primer and doesn't crease throughout the day. Benefit Cosmetics are a high end makeup line, so expect to pay more for this concealer as with the rest of their products, however this concealer is worth the buy; it works!
