This has been a makeup bag staple for years. I especially love "A Different Grape." It's sheer but wears a long time. For best use, exfoliate lips beforehand and apply with a lip brush. Color won't wander for feather.

I've been using this scrub on and off for a number of years. In my younger, more naive days I would tend to overscrub. You want to avoid tearing your tender skin, and Clinique says not to use this on an "active breakout." As long as you use a light hand, I think this is beneficial for removing dead skin cells, smoothing skin, and deep-cleaning.

Clear Conditioner has a great fragrance and leaves hair bouncy, but it did little to add shine, softness, or leave my hair tangle-free. I found it to be drying. I realize that it is a different concept in cleaning (beginning with the scalp), but this is not for dry or damaged hair and certainly not for hair which has been colored.

Women have to be careful with setting powders. We all have a tendency to want to keep our carefully-applied makeup in place and prevent a shiny break-through, but less is always more. Powder tends to cling to fine lines and creases, most especially around the delicate eye area. This doesn't seem to be much of a problem with Estee Lauder's "Lucidity Translucent Loose Powder." It is available in "translucent" as well as several lovely shades. This is a talc-free product, and it does not contain mica or cornstarch. It is extremely lightweight on skin. Many makeup artists are now recommending putting down the makeup brush--no matter how well-made--and using a sponge or powder puff. Brushes may actually remove the powder, as well as the foundation and other cosmetics underneath. They suggest using dipping the sponge in powder, dusting off excess, and employing a "rolling" motion against skin. This way, powder makes its way into pores and stays put for a longer time. However you choose to use this, it is a great powder. I know the trend is to use it over concealer under eyes, but I was drilled in modeling school and on the runway never to put powder around my eyes. Just use a great concealer and a brush if necessary. Keep the powder for the rest of your face!

"Skln Milk" shower gel cleanse is a total treat. I greatly enjoy the scent. It contains milk proteins and Vitamins A, D, and E to soften and smooth. Comfrey and White Pond Lily extracts add to the silky feel. I "treat" my skin with this great gel.

My family used "Ivory" and "Cashmere Bouquet" soaps growing up (I still love "Ivory"). Only when I was older did I use Dial. It does clean well and leave you smelling fresh. It can be a bit drying--which can be a good thing, as several women I know claim it cleared their acne. I need to moisturize after using, but I still like it--a lot!

I had very high hopes for Estèe Lauder's "Private Collection Pure Fragrance Spray." After "Pleasures," "White Linen," and so many other gorgeous aromas from this company, I expected to be overwhelmed. I was, but not in a good way. I don't find this fresh or enticing, but, rather, excessive and oppressive. The base notes are sandalwood and patchouli; middle notes are orange flower, ylang-ylang, and coriander; and top notes are honeysuckle, jasmine, and citrus. It SHOULD be a fragrance which is beyond gorgeous. Sorry, Estèe, but I hardly find this tolerable.

I caved. I am absolutely head over heels for Tarte's "Aqualillies" waterproof makeup palette (rarely have I seen shadows with such beautiful undertones or used a product which performed better). I went on to purchase their ultra-moisturizing Glamazon™ Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick. But what's the purpose if you don't have a great waterproof eyeliner? Last year during our summer vacation, we couldn't have had a better time--and I couldn't have looked worse when the little makeup I wore for photos disappeared. I plan to vacation in living color this year. This liner just comes in one shade for now (I have a feeling that more are on the way), a fun, flirty, totally "summer" shimmering turquoise. For just $24.00, Tarte includes a fantastic bamboo double-ended brush with one curved end to make application quick and easy, even for those of us who can be "all thumbs" with liner. Whether you want the tiniest bit of color or a thick line of teal, you can achieve it with the brush and the formula. The color is surprisingly flattering for all eyes. It glides on easily and can be smudged when still damp. Once it sets, it is completely waterproof. Go ahead--play in the ocean, swim in a pool, and laugh until you cry--your eyeliner is still there! I tried it in the shower. While I didn't use soap to remove it, I did soak my face thoroughly and for a long time. The liner stayed perfectly intact. This liner, like all of the "Aqualillies" items and many of Tarte's other cosmetics, contains Amazonian Clay. I will admit that I rolled my eyes when I first heard of this, sure that it was a gimmick. After using nearly all of Tarte's available products, I can assure you that it is not. It keeps moisture in skin, prevents oil build-up, minimizes pores, and helps to give these amazing colors their staying power. Applause for this treasure!

"Shalimar" is a well-known fragrance. It was inspired by the legendary love story of Indian Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife, Mumtaz, which took place in the gardens of Shalimar. This was meant to be an ultimately sensual perfume. Night-blooming flowers, vanilla, and musks are the notes that give this distinctive fragrance its aroma. A friend brought me a bottle as a gift when she travelled to France. I didn't appreciate it then; it can be heavy and a bit overwhelming. I still have it and have grown to value the scent. When used with a light hand, this is a sultry, classic, unique, and lovely perfume.

I thought I had experienced the best that Amazonian Clay from Tarte had to offer--until I tried their amazing, gorgeous, waterproof Aqualillies palette (be still, my heart!), which is replete with the clay as well. To go along with it, I tried their new Glamazon™ "Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick." Lips are genuinely cushioned with the luscious formula, and color doesn't feather or stray. Your pout will have a more plump, seductive appearance, There is absolutely NO NEED for continual touch-ups; this lipstick stays in its place! It is available in a very wide variety of delectable shades, from demure ("Pure," a light rose) to playful and seductive ("Fierce," a bright red and "Bold," a vivid coral perfect for the season). Tarte includes mango, shea, and avocado butters to hydrate your lips as you mesmerize the people you see.
