  • Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Soft Shimmer

For bold and vivid color I use MAC's shadow, but for shimmer and pastel color, I use Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow. The color selection is somewhat limited, but I have several. Two of them are favorite. One is beige color, and the other one is white (for ice queen look in winter). Both are not too chalky or obvious, but definitely noticeable. The powder is soft and light, but it does not leave a powdery trace like some cheap eye shadow does. I also own Super Shimmer, but I don't feel any big difference, except the color selections. BTW, I miss Clinique's old silvery slide case, but this newer package comes with a mirror.

  • Olay Total Effects Wet Cleansing Cloths

Olay Total Effects Wet Cleansing Cloths

Mild, maybe a bit too mild for my oily skin

I recently bought this one to see whether my face would feel any difference with this age defying cleansing cloths. I am in my mid-30s, I started having wrinkles around my lips and eyes. The package says that it fights 7 signs of aging, but after two weeks removing makeup with this cloths, I have not noticed any improvement on my wrinkles yet. But yes compared to Olay's Daily Facials Clarity Lathering Cloths, I think this one is gentle and mild. Unfortunately, it is too mild to remove my mascara and other eye makeup completely. My mom, on the other hand, loves this one. She said it lathers very well, removes her makeup, and leaves her skin clean and smooth. Since I still have oily skin, I could use a bit stronger makeup remover or cleansing cloths.

  • Lubriderm Advanced Therapy Hand Cream

Since it is not as thick as other hand cream products that I have, this one feels a bit more like hand lotion, rather than cream. But it does a decent job moisturizing my hands for daily use. For dry cold winter, I prefer to use a bit thicker and more intensive/concentrated hand cream. Overall this has a very good price that you can’t beat. So if you need a light hand cream at work or home, but you don’t want an expensive one, this is a good product to have.

Slatkin & Co. Scentportable Vanilla Coconut

Innovative product, but I wish the fragrance lasts longer

I really wanted to love this product. Since it requires no plug, no battery or no fire, there are so many places that I can place this - car, closet, basement, garage etc. I used it in my car. For about two weeks, my car smelled really great, and it smelled like a sweet and warm tropical vacation. Then, it faded, faded and faded. The staying power of the fragrance did not impress me. But it may work longer for a small air-tight place. I gave one to my mom, and she left it in the bottom of your garbage can. She said the fragrance lasted about a month for her plastic garbage container.

  • L'Occitane Citrus Verbena Shower Gel
    5.0

    L'Occitane Citrus Verbena Shower Gel

Not my favorite L'Occitane shower gel

Among all the l'Occitane verbena collection, this shower was the least favorite. This shower gel is not very moisturizing, and the scent resembles a citrus-based household cleaning product. Don't get me wrong, I usually love the verbena fragrance, and I have no problem with my other l'Occitane verbenas.

Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color

Great color selection, great performance, great price

I am not easily tempted by a magazine advertisement, but when I read their claims and color selection, I could not resist to try this color sensational lipcolor. I could not make up my mind for just one color among so many attractive shades to choose from. Even for just the "nude" base tone, there were at least 10 different colors at a drug store. The color (Warm Me Up) is, yes, warm, natural, mature and sexy. It really fits to my skin tone. It may not have the exact shine power as lip gloss has, unlike sticky lip gloss, this lip stick is creamy and soft, and hydrates my lips. I am a regular buyer of Clinique (especially Long Last Soft Shine Lipstick) , Shiseido, Mac, Shu Uemura lipsticks, but the quality of this lipstick is almost comparable, and the price is hard to beat. I would give the perfect score if it was a long lasting.

  • Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Luminous Shadow

Even though it is very affordable, the color "glow nude" is nice and it goes on smooth. However, it has too much glitter, which makes it more girlish look. I agree that the built-in applicator needs some improvements. The loose powder is not too easy to control and I have to use a Q-tip to wipe the excess off around my eyes.

  • The Body Shop Bath Gloves

It was a bit rough for a few days, but it got a bit softer over times. This gloves remove some of dead skin cells. But it can get really nasty faster than a brush or a mesh sponge. Also it is hard for me to reach my back with this gloves. It is convenient, but I still prefer a long-shaped body towel/cloth.

  • Bath & Body Works White Barn Candle Co. The Ultimate Tealight

I have oil warmers everywhere in our house, and I cannot have enough of these tealight candles. I think one bag contained about 30 of them. I also own a tea pot warmer, so I am glad that these are unscented. Although these BBW tealights are affordable, I recently found out that IKEA sells them for less and I don't buy them at BBW anymore.

  • Secret Original Solid

I used to use this Secret Original Solid during my college years. It smelled fresh, and more importantly it was affordable. This used to a not-too-bad deodorant, but once I switched to more up-to-date products, it is hard to return to this original formula. One of the biggest reasons that I stopped using this deodorant is that the solid crumbles on the armpits or leaves stains. Among all the Secret deodorants, I like Secret Platinum Invisible Solid the best.
