  • Nivea A Kiss of Shine Glossy Lip Care

Nivea A Kiss of Shine Glossy Lip Care

Best deal in drugstore lip gloss

Finally I found a moisturizing and hydrating clear gloss that I feel comfortable using when I don't use any colored lip stick or gloss. It moisturizes my lips, leave a nice smooth and soft feeling. However, I don't necessarily use this one to heal or repair chapped lips. It give a nice amount of shines, not too much, but I liked it that way so my lips does not look like I just had greasy food! ;) This Nivea lip care product is cheaper (well the Nivea's tube is smaller) and a lot less stickier than Victoria Secret's. Also, cheaper than L'oreals and Burt's Bees. Even though I wish it was unscented and the tube was a bit bigger, it was a steal! It was on sale and I had a coupon! I would definitely buy it again!

    Benefit Lipscription

    Mediocre and overpriced

It was given to me as a stocking stuffer about 4 holidays ago. First I thought I got the two tubes of the same products, but when I read the labels, I realized that one tube was buffing lip beads, and the other one was silky lip balm. The exfoliator beads removed dead skin off from my lips, and my lips felt smoother. But I remember it left a bit waxy film. I disliked the lip balm part even more. It was really thick almost like Vaseline petroleum jelly so that it was hard squeeze some out from their tube. The concept of this product was indeed interesting, but I think it was way overpriced. Even though it was a pricey product, I did not finish them. A few years ago I accidentally saw this tube at a Sephora how expensive was. Wow, I would never pay this much money on a mediocre lip care product.

  • Biore Steam Activated Cleanser

    Biore Steam Activated Cleanser

    Great affordable daily face wash

The scent of this cleanser is very similar to other Biore face scrubs/cleansers that I tried before - a bit sweet and clean scent. Then, when I use this cleanser, the sweet scent seems to transform to more minty. I think the formula is very concentrated because a small amount lathers very well, and is enough to wash entire face and neck. The pump dispenses a little too much for me. It gives a refreshing tingly minty feeling. Unfortunately, it does not eliminate my pimples completely, but it gives a soothing relief to my irritating reddish pimples. BTW, I have not used it to remove make-up. Even though there are beads inside this pump, I would not count this as a scrub or an exfoliator because there are not many beads, which I don't mind. Each squeeze only a few beads come out, and the beads are quite mild, too gentle for me. Having said that, this is a great affordable facial wash for daily use. This Biore cleanser may be my first satisfying Biore cleanser. My face feels clean, but no squeaky clean, therefore, there is no tight feeling after wash with it.

OPI Sephora by OPI Nail Colour Remover

    Remove any nail color effectively

I needed a travel-size nail polish remover because my drugstore brands and Sally Hansen's containers were a bit big bring as an airplane carry on. Sephora had a 2oz size version of this. This remover worked as good as the other ones. I soaked it with cotton balls and remove nail colors. The best feature - it does not smell bad at all!

  • Clinique Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream

    Clinique Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream

My quest for effective eye cream/serum continues...

My issues with my eyes were just getting worse a few years ago. Soggy skin, baggy undereyes, and dark circles are getting harder to hide or reduce. I was hoping this eye cream would do some miracle work. I used this at night and in the morning before I apply concealer. Even though this is obviously not the gel-based like All About Eyes, I felt skin got tighter a little bit. Also, fine lines a little seemed to become less obvious, and it was very moisturizing. Considering their rich creamy texture, I was surprised that I did not get any pimple around my eyes. However, it did not "repair" my undereye bags or dark circles. Unfortunately, neither Clinique All about Eyes nor Clinique Repairwear worked for me.

  • Sephora Nail Brush
    9.0

    Sephora Nail Brush

    Stiff and sturdy

It was the cheapest brush at Sephora. This brush successfully removes dirt under my fingernails and wipes away the dust after filing. It is a bit bigger than my dollar store brush, I wish this one was a bit smaller, but it is easier to hold and the 2-sided. Not bad at all for $3!

  • bareMinerals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush

This brush was included in the Get Started Kit, along with Full Flawless Brush and Fawless Application Brush. This brush is the softest among the 3. The brush is flat and dense, and it picks up a lot of foundation. The size is perfect to help concealing under eye area or my acne scars. Unlike the Flawless brushes, it has not shed yet. I wish the other two bareMinerals brushes were as soft as this one.

  • Burberry Classic

    Burberry Classic

    True classic

This perfume is a little powdery, a little woody and a little musky scent with hints of light sweet vanilla. Yes, different scents are blended together, but the combination is clean and warm. I bought my first bottle about 12 years ago as I collect perfume bottles. But their scent is very timeless. The name says it all, definitely classic. It can be wear any season or occasion. I also think that this perfume is suitable for any age because it does not smell like an old intensive floral perfume or a extremely sweet and artificial fragrance. I don't get bored with the scent of this fragrance. I tried two more Burberry perfumes, I do like more distinguishable bottle of Burberry Brit, but always come back to this one for its scent.

  • Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare All-Over Blemish Solution

I wish I could sample this item before I purchased it. I thought this was a Acne Treatment Gel. My tube says "MD Skincare, Dr. Dennis Gross, All-Over Blemish Solution, Acne Treatment Gel". But this is not gel, rather mattifier! The texture/consistency is just like Dermalogica Clearing Mattifier or even Smashbox Photo Finish! This one has a weird scent. Additionally, it did little to my acne. I barely use a mattifier, I rather clear my acne. Well, it is too late. Since I opened it and used some, I don't think I can return it. :( As another reviewer kindly suggested, I may try to use this as a makeup primer.

  • BareMinerals Flawless Application Face Brush

Obviously, this is smaller than their Full Flawless brush. But I think the quality of the both brush is quite similar. They are not too rough but a bit scratchy and definitely not very soft on my face. This one has a longer handle. I use this brush to apply my favorite bareMinerals product, Warmth. It picks up a nice amount of powder. Unfortunately, just like their full size version, it sheds some (well, not each time...). The both brushes were included in the bareMinerals 9-Piece Get Started Kit, which I got the $174 value for $60. So I cannot complain much about the price of this brush, but if I have to replace it, I will probably look for a cheaper option.
