    Neutrogena Healthy Skin Rejuvenator Kit

Pretty good for what it is

I have semi sensitive skin so when I first started using this over six months ago, my skin got a little irritated when I followed the directions. What I did was cut down to using it only once a wk, then twice, then 3 times until my skin got used to it. The difference showed up about 3 months into using it. I noticed my skin was much softer and the tone more even. It also helped in making moisturizers or other skin products penetrate better because the top layer is exfoliated. I've never had a real dermabrasion procedure but I can imagine it is much more invasive than what you'd get with this product so don't expect miracles from it. At best it's a good maintenance product in keeping your skin exfoliated.

  • Make Up For Ever Glossy Full

First let me say I didn't buy this for the "plumping" effect as my lips are already plump. I got it because I'm simply a lipgloss junkie and like trying out different glosses from different manufactures ranging from very cheap to expensive. While the gloss is pretty shiny, I wouldn't describe it as having the "vinyl" effect. It's basically just a shiny lip gloss...nothing more. Lasting power is pretty decent but like any lip gloss, it will come right off when eating or drinking. However the packaging is sleek enough that you can put it in your purse or pocket for re-application. It does keep the lips hydrated but so does chapstick or other lip balms for much cheaper. Overall, it wasn't too bad but I just can't justify spending $20 for a lip gloss that performs just like any other.

  • Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads

First I'd like to say I didn't purchase this for wrinkles because I'm still in my early twenties and don't have any. What I had in mind was to use this to peel some hyperpigmented spots I occasionally get from left over monthly breakouts. This particular product appealed to me because of the glycolic acid delivered by individual pads. Although the glycolic acid it contains isn't as strong as the ones you'd get from a professional peel, it's good enough for maintaining your results. I only use them on the troublesome dark spots left over by acne and within a week of using it, the dark spots peel and fade away completely. It can be irritating at first, especially if it's your first time using AHA's so it's best to acclimatize your skin slowly and leave it on for only a couple minutes. Eventually your skin gets used to it and you can leave it on longer. This product helps maintain a clear complexion for me and I have even used it on the occasional pimple I'd get. It helps dry it up and heal it. Will repurchase again. I just wish it was a bit cheaper because it can get expensive, especially when regularly used.

    The Body Shop Body Butter

    Great product for dry skin

In hindsight I should've gotten several container of this product as they were on sale that day ($10.50). Normally it sells for $15. I just love this product. I love how it moisturizes my skin. I'm a runner and sometimes my skin gets very dry when I take a shower after a long run. This alleviates the dry patches I get on my arms and sometimes my legs. The shea butter feels like silk on the skin and the scent is just heavenly!

    Vincent Longo The Curl Mascara

    Not worth the price tag

If this mascara cost half the price I paid for it ($23) then perhaps I can say it's ok because it's actually a decent day time mascara that isn't overbearing. The formula is thin, on the dry side and doesn't clump too much. However, I just don't feel it should cost this much for the performance it delivers. I have tried other products that performed identical to this for far cheaper. I'm giving it an average rating because it isn't really a bad product but isn't spectacular either.

Jane Endless Eye Liquid Eye Liner

    16 hrs? I don't think so!

I like a lot of Jane products so when I saw this at the store, I said to myself "why not give it a try"? Well, I can't say I'm too pleased with it. While the packaging was sleek and application was easy enough, the product did not live up to it's advertised claim of 16 hrs. I don't have oily eyelids but at 2 hrs after, the product started flaking off of my eyes. Not a pretty look at all! By the 4th hr, it was almost all gone, except for a few patches here and there. I can't complain too much though. For the price, I didn't expect it to last 8 hrs, much less 16.

  • N.Y.C. New York Color Liquid Lip Shine Lipgloss

I'm a lip gloss junkie so naturally I want to try each and every single one out there, no matter what the price or brand. This particular lipgloss was very sticky and felt disgusting on my lips. It literally made my lips feel as though it was suffocating. As soon as I put it on, I couldn't wait to get it off. No worries though because like many glosses no matter what the price, it comes right off after eating and drinking. Color pay off wasn't too bad but I guess if you want a real cheap gloss, this will do...if you can stand the sticky, tacky feeling.

  • Maybelline New York Great Lash Washable Mascara

For me this mascara just didn't deliver what it advertised. Although the mascara didn't get too clumpy, it didn't make my lashes thicker either. In terms of performance, it's average at best but it was priced right for its performance.

    MAC Pigment

    Beautiful, versatile product

I have the Holiday as well as the Overrich Collections and wow, these pigments are just absolutely gorgeous! Their use is very versatile as I use the browns, neutrals, greens and blues for eyeshadow, the pinks, corals and reds as blushes and the lightest colors for highlighting any part of the face. I've also made some pressed pigments for my 15 pan eyeshadow palette for portability. Can be used wet or dry but for more intense coloration (esp. for eyes) I use them wet. The color pay-off of these pigments are a bit more intense than MAC's pressed eyeshadows so if you love bold, intense colors, the pigments are the way to go. And btw, these little jars of pigments will last you forever as a little goes a long, long way.

    Nars Blush

Gives skin the appearance of a healthy glow

I have the famous "O" which is a peachy-pink color with slight shimmer. This blush color is very nice as it adds a hint of pinkish tint to my cheeks without looking overdone. The slight gold shimmer adds a healthy looking sheen to your cheeks that completes the look. I just wish the color was a little more peachy on my cheeks as I find it tends to be more on the pink side once on my skin than it is peachy. Still this is a very good quality blush and blendability is great, not to mention staying power is very good and almost lasting throughout the day without needing to be touched up.
