  • CoverGirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation

I loved the Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation so much so I thought I would try this out to see if it's also a hit. It's a good thing I got this for free as gratis from Ulta. Even though I have oily skin, I was kind of scared that this would be too luminous but it's not as luminous as I thought it would be which is a good thing. I don't like the coverage on this. I have three layers on and I can only get a light coverage only. This foundation oxidizes so bad. I turn orange within five minutes of this on. It also starts to turn blotchy right away within those five minutes as well. Definitely not long lasting at all. Hate this so much, I just threw it away even though I got it for free. This also has a weird smell that reminds me of Elmer's glue.

Pond's Original Fresh Wet Cleansing Towelettes

Scent didn't bother me that much....

Compared to everyone else who hated that these were heavily perfumed, I found the scent on this bearable. It has a fresh soapy smell that doesn't make me nauseous. I can get past the scent but what I can't really get past is how much this stings my eyes when I try to take off my eye makeup. These wipes are also not very good at removing makeup. I like that these wipes do not leave behind an oily or some kind of residue at all and they stay fairly moist and doesn't dry out but if it stings my eyes and doesn't do what it's supposed to do, I'm not going to repurchase.

  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

I like the texture and consistency of this. It has a gel formula and reminds me of a hydrating primer. This is especially good for oily skin. I wouldn't recommend this for people who are looking for a thicker cream and someone who has extremely dry skin. I like how fast this absorbs and it makes my skin feel so supple, smooth, and plump. Adds just the right amount of moisture without that rubbery or sticky feel.

  • BareMinerals Bare Haven Essential Moisturizing Soft Cream

After using this for about 4-5 months, I noticed the elasticity of my skin. Although it doesn't make my skin soft, hence it's name I like it for the purpose that this cream is super moisturizing so it's really good for dry skin people or oily skin people like me to use during the winter. It can be a little too much during the summer since it's a thicker, richer cream. I've tried two products from the new Bareminerals line and I really like the scent on this. I'm a sucker for citrus-y scents which this kind of smells like lemons in a jar. I feel like this jar really lasts a long time because you only need less than a dime-size to cover your entire face.

  • Ahava Mineral Hand Cream

    Ahava Mineral Hand Cream

    Smells like baby lotion....

Unlike some people who love the scent of this, I'm the exception. This smells EXACTLY like the original baby lotion that's in the pink bottle. I'm not too fond of the scent. In my opinion, it's way too overpowering. I like that this lotion absorbs fast and it's one of those thicker creams but feels really light when applied. It doesn't feel greasy at all and doesn't leave my hands too rubbery feeling like some other lotions. It does make my hands feel softer afterwards but the effect doesn't last that long.

  • BareMinerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion

I was expecting the scent on this to be kind of herby which I don't like herby scents for my makeup or beauty products because the packaging on this says that there's long life herb, California poppy, and ginger extract in this but I was wrong. It kind of has a unique citrus scent to it. The direction says to use 2 pumps of this but I find that one pump is plenty. It doesn't really absorb that fast (which could be a plus or downfall for some people) which makes it easy to smooth all over your face and neck just in time before it dries. The texture on this isn't too sticky. It has a tacky feeling to it but it's not overbearing. It's very watery so if you're expecting a thick serum, you're not going to get it with this product. This product has lasted me a good 4 months using it day and night. I have noticed that my skin looks more youthful and radiant. The fine lines on my forehead although not completely gone has become less visible. One of the downfalls to this packaging is that it's made of glass so it can get kind of heavy and if you drop it, it will break. Love the rose gold color though. Very pretty. I was fortunate enough to get it for free when I went to Bareminerals training but I'm not sure if I would repurchase and pay $48 for it. This product is made to restore moisture into your skin so I want something that's more mattifying since I have oily skin.

  • Benefit Brow Zings

    Benefit Brow Zings

Too much of a red undertone....

I have swatched all three shades at Ulta: light, medium, and dark and all the colors come across as slightly red. The light color in my opinion was the least red so I bought it hoping I could pull it off but it still made my eyebrows look red. This is only for redheads in my opinion. Not universal for everyone else. The powder has a cooler tone but the wax in here is too red to make my brows look natural. It's pigmented but don't expect it to hold your brows in place. The wax and the powder applied patchy for me. Not as good as my Anastasia brow powder. I recommend this for people who already have fuller brows than most since this will not fill in super sparse areas. It will look patchy. The tools in here are quite handy on the go but the handle on the brushes is obviously too short to create a perfect eyebrow look. I like the tweezer in here though. It really grabs on to every hair unlike other brow kits I've tried that the tweezers really suck because it does not grab any of my eyebrows at all. I will pass on this kit.

  • It Cosmetics Liner Love

    It Cosmetics Liner Love

    No tug eyeliner....

IT Cosmetics boasts about how much of a "no-tug" gel eyeliner this is. It is for the most part because it's super creamy that it doesn't tug at all. I haven't noticed it drying out on me yet since I've only used this about ten times now. I got this in the plum color and it's a really pretty color but it hardly shows up as plum. It's more of a black base with purple shimmer in it. Not quite the color I was looking for. This dries super quick so work fast. One thing I don't like about this is that the color is not intense enough to my liking. It applies really patchy and streaky so it's hard for me to get that dark tip at the end of my winged liner. This liner lasts super long and is basically waterproof but I noticed it fading throughout the day which is weird considering it being so long lasting and all.

  • Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Collection

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Collection

Don't get all the hype about these Chocolate Bar palettes...

I owned the original Chocolate Bar palette before this one and when this one came out, I heard the pigmentation is better than the original so I wanted to try it out just so I can see all the hype behind it. I actually do like the heart-shaped pans in here. They're so cute and I hardly ever hit pan on my eyeshadows so I didn't care too much if they look like they're smaller than the other two palettes. I noticed the chocolate scent in here is way more subtle than the other two palettes as well. My biggest gripe about this palette is how similar all the colors look. This is pretty much the first Chocolate Bar palette that Too Faced came out with but they only added heart-shaped pans (and a hot pink color) to this one. I'm so disappointed by the lack of color range and how Too Faced keeps "recycling" the same colors but giving them different names. These blended well but it doesn't do much if I can't even build up the colors. The pigmentation on this palette is so mediocre. Most of the transition colors in here are so light that it doesn't even show up on the lid. The only points I give Too Faced is their packaging but if you want to charge people $49 for a palette, you better make sure that it's worth that money.

  • Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner
    6.0

    Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner

    Did I get a dud???

I love how this liner dries matte and is not too thick or too watery to work with. The concept of having a "custom blending stage" tip is so unique and practical. The angled brush that this comes with only works good during the first use. After that, it just frays everywhere and I can't get a good precise winged liner anymore. Also, the brush is not thin enough so I can't really create a super thin line to my liking. I have to use my MAC 210 brush to get that super thin line I want. At first when I applied this, it applies super streaky but once it dries down to its matte finish, it dries evenly thank goodness. It's super long-lasting and literally waterproof. However, after the fifth use of this the screw part on the top of the tube cracked and instead of it coming out from the blending stage, it now comes out of the side where the cap screws on. Super annoying and what a waste of product. I don't know if I just ended up with a cheaply made packaging but I'm kind of afraid to replace it just because I'm afraid it's going to get all over my purse if this happens again.
