  • Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo

Smells good and works well. I'll occasionally give the wallet a break and buy cheaper drug store brands and this one is a good standby.

  • Sally Hansen Super Shine Top Coat

It dries quickly to a nice shine, but it doesn't last too long. Nails will get dull in a day or two, and the chip protection is not as good as a heavier top coat, like the one OPI has out.

  • Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Hard As Wraps

Nice concept, but chips really easily. Even with a topcoat! Decent color selection, but I'd say to stick with Essie or OPI.

  • OPI Ridge Filler
    10.0

    OPI Ridge Filler

    Perfect primer for nails

Makes your nails into a blank, smooth canvas for easy application of nail polish! Dries really quickly and uniformly and makes your nail polish job look that much better (and last twice as long too).

  • bareMinerals Full-Edged Liner Brush

While my experience with Bare Escentuals products has only been so-so, this brush is one of the few redeeming items. The rest of the brushes I got (Soft focus, Kabuki) were pretty low quality and terrible, this brush actually works (although it is already starting to look a little beat up only after a month). I tend to use it also with non-Bare Escenutals products, such as gel fluid liners.

  • Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
    9.0

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

The smell is a little weird, but...

It's a pretty good product! It's not quite a fresh lemon smell, it's more like a lemon smell you'd get from a lemon dish detergent. But works pretty well in keep the cuticles in shape and preventing those little pieces of skin that flake off. Like the other reviews said, it is a little thick and you really have to warm it up with your fingers to work it into your cuticles, and even then this product never really soaks in completely. When I take the subway to work in the morning, I usually do my whole cuticle creme routine to pass the time. People stare at me like I'm crazy, but at least I have pretty nails to show for it!

  • Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
    10.0

    Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

    Simple and effective

THE BEST! Inexpensive and made with simple ingredients, this lip balm has been a staple of mine for many years. From the little yellow tins to this new packaging, the quality has remained the same- extraordinary. While companies like Smashbox and Clinique sell lip balms for over $25, this little tube is much cheaper and works 10x better. The slight peppermint taste leaves a tingle on my lips that I've come to expect. Really forms a protective seal around your lips to keep them from cracking and drying in the cold. This is a fantastic product, I absolutely adore it. A real classic.

  • Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer
    10.0

    Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer

    Good alternative to lipstick

Really pretty color for a lipbalm! I have this in Watermelon and it's a really sheer and slightly shimmery color. Really girly and really cute. For those days when your lips are a little dry from the cold and not looking their best, the last thing you want to do is to put some drying lipstick on! But slap some Burt's Bees on and you have color and the healing benefits a lip balm. Has a bit of peppermint oil in it too, so it smells and tastes good too.

  • Burt's Bees Herbal Complexion Stick

You don't hear much about using tea tree oil to clear up blemishes as often as other things like salicylic acid or sulfur, but people should really know about it! It works really well (especially on sensitive skin) and doesn't have the drying effects of salicyclic acid. The smell is a little bit herbal but it's not noticeable at all. It dries on your skin clear and leaves no residue, so you could wear it under your makeup. Probably one of the best pimple spot treatments I've tried. One little issue that sort of bugged me was the applicator, which is like a little rolling ball applicator. Problem is, when you apply it to your skin, the bacteria from the pimple gets into the little tube and over time, you can see it going bad! The liquid will just get all cloudly and you can see little sediments floating in it. But besides the short shelf-life, it's definitely worth it.

  • The Body Shop Coconut Body Scrub

Great exfoliator but the best part of course, is the smell. I love all things coconut and this scrub has the best and most realistic frangrance. Heavenly!
