  • L'Oreal Paris HiP High Intensity Pigments Cream Shadow Paint

I use these primarily as a base and they work great as such; no creasing whatsoever and they can help bring out or deepen a color. I wish they weren't shimmery but otherwise they come in great colors, pretty on their own. I have Nervy, which is a great taupey brown that I pair with my taupe shadows, and Steely, a deep grey that I use too deepen some shadows. Buy them on BOGO because they are a little pricey.

  • Physicians Formula Baked Collection Wet/Dry Eye Shadow

I got Baked Sands packaged with a free Baked Sweets at Walmart a little while ago. Originally I wanted it for the Baked Sands, which is a set of warm, bronzy colors, but ended up loving Baked Sweets more, a set of purplish colors, complimentary to my brown eyes. These are fine used dry but you can achieve more intense colors wet, which is what I usually go for. As others have said these are more metallic than shimmery, and very pigmented. I have to say that I dislike the packaging functionality-wise. Its cute to look at but bulky and I'm afraid that if I ever drop these that the little rounded tops on the shadow will break right off. Other than that, I'm glad I got the two-fer set and wish they would come out with more sets.

  • Jane Blushing Cheeks Blush
    10.0

    Jane Blushing Cheeks Blush

    Earth Sheer and Blossom

These are such soft blushes, and pretty pigmented but still of more natural-looking colors. Its easy to get a more subtle look with these. Very cheap and long-lasting. Some have a little shimmer and others are just matte, so you're not stuck with only shimmer choices. Blossom and Earth Sheer are my favorites, Earth Sheer is more peachy so I use it for warmer looks, and Blossom is a nice light cool pink that never seems to conflict with or overpower the rest of my makeup. I tried Baby Doll but unfortunately it wasn't right for my skintone, and was a little darker than I could work with.

  • L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara
    7.0

L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Carbon Black Mascara

Great for corners and gives soft lashes

I think with this mascara you have to learn how to use it differently, and it does take a little bit of extra time, as it coats one small group of lashes at a time. Some cons are that you have to make sure there isn't too much mascara on the sphere otherwise you may end up with clumps. And you may have to use a lash comb afterwards because the little ball can grab your lashes and make them tangle with each other. You have to work quickly during application because the formula dries quickly, so it means layering mascara isn't happening. The pros are that the the ball does work great getting into corners and lower lashes without getting any mascara on your eyelid, and this formula does not flake or smudge. Once you get the hang of it, this mascara leaves your lashes soft, lengthened and pretty full. UPDATE: I've found this works best if you only use the wand vertically, and then you can get the soft, fluttery look much easier.

  • Maybelline New York Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Washable Mascara

I actually really like how this mascara and the Colossal smells, it is like roses. This does noticeably lengthens my lashes and does not leave me with crunchy eyelashes or flakes. You have to follow the instructions and apply your (for me) multiple coats of mascara before it dries or you risk getting the dry, crunchy feel and clumpiness. It seems to particularly lengthen my lower lashes well. The brush is wonderful to use, much smaller and narrower than the thick ones out now, and also has a tapered end which makes it easy to get the corners of your eyes. As for the patent shine they claim, it is more like a slightly still wet mascara look. This mascara also can be removed very easily. This is a very good product but my loyalty is still to L'oreal Voluminous and Lash Blast.

  • Maybelline New York Express Finish 50 Second Nail Color

I usually only buy the cheapest nail polish but found a set of these in Big Lots so I got to try them out. I was surprised at how well these work. These do dry extremely quickly, have pretty good coverage in just one coat, and are longer lasting than my Rimmel nail polishes; they do not seem to chip easily. My only complaint is the lack of current color range, I like pinks but like to experiment with other colors as well.

  • L'Oreal Paris Extra-Volume Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara
    6.0

L'Oreal Paris Extra-Volume Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara

Not my favorite but I will use mine up

This definitely thickens your lashes and makes them fuller-looking. You have to be careful with the application though to avoid a clumpy appearance, so apply your coats quickly before it dries. I do have some flaking though, but not as bad as other mascaras I have tried. The best way for me to review it is to compare it to L'oreal's Voluminous. I personally prefer a more defined lash look, and with Voluminous I can achieve a fuller look without completely sacrificing that. I do like the hourglass brush on this, it is bigger than usual but not difficult to work with, and the formula does not leave your lashes so hard, but still not as soft as Voluminous. Not the best but not a terrible mascara.

  • L'Oreal Paris HIP Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss
    7.0

L'Oreal Paris HIP Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss

    Very-pigmented like promised.

This is a bit more expensive than I would want to pay but I got mine on clearance. These are very pigmented, like the name claims, and has a delicious caramel scent. They work much like the regular L'oreal Color Juice lipglosses, very shiny and longer-lasting than most, and not too sticky. I'm not as in love with the color range in this collection though.

  • Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color

These come in such a wide range of colors that anyone who is looking for a bold, bright color or one who prefers a more natural lipcolor can find what they are looking for. These smell like a mixture of honey and vanilla to me, or play-doh to my fiance, either way I love the scent, it doesn't smell drying. The lipstick is so creamy and smooth but doesn't smudge outside your lip line, and is quite long-lasting for not being matte. also very moisturizing, no feathering or settling into little lines in your lips. The finish to some of these are a creamy, barely shiny healthy look or a very light shimmer. The non-shimmer colors seem to be true to what is in the packaging, the ones with shimmer tend to be a little more sheer. Some of my favorites are Rose Quartz, Petal Pink, Tinted Taupe, Warm Me Up, Warm and Cozy, Plum-Tastic, and Yummy Plummy. Yeah, I've been collecting these like crazy and would recommend bogos! Also check out Maybelline's site for suggestions on colors for your skintone, so far it has been very useful for me.

  • Maybelline New York Full 'N Soft Waterproof Mascara
    7.0

Maybelline New York Full 'N Soft Waterproof Mascara

Delivers, except for the 100% waterproof part.

This one I used for years before I recently discovered L'oreal Voluminous Waterproof mascara. This one leaves a very natural fullness to your lashes and makes them feel soft, which made it good for my slightly sensitive eyes. It delivers on it's promises. There were some things I did not like however. It isn't 100% waterproof, it would smudge under my eyes and near my brow bone just through a normal day, no water involved. And for some reason I found the brush to be difficult at times, because if I got too close to my upper lashline I would end up smearing it on my skin as well. I never found a way to work around this except to wear a smokey eyeshadow. But this was just my personal experience, and I will still return to this after I finish trying new mascaras.
