  • Maybelline New York Expert Wear Blush Duo

I got this so I could have a highlighter along with a blush. This duo works as well as the regular blushes but the packaging makes a little difficult to grab just one color with my blush brush. Otherwise it does not fade too much, and did not streak on me.

  • Maybelline New York ExpertWear Eye Shadow Duo

This is a duo of turquoise colors that looks quite dark in the package but come off extremely sheer. You can build up color and try using them wet for a more intense look, but it is a little annoying to go through the extra trouble. They feel soft and silky to apply but for me are not as long-lasting as Revlon's eye shadows. Like Covergirl, they come in pretty colors but does not have so great color payoff. UPDATE: I guess some of these are hit or miss because I tried the singles and the quads and did well with those. I have since been putting this duo over L'oreal HIP's cream paint in Steely and am able to get a nice dark, iridescent sea green look.

Maybelline New York ExpertWear Eye Shadow Singles

    Beach Blush, Silken Taupe, Amethyst

I only have three of these but I struck gold with all the colors. The first I tried was a limited edition summer collection single called Beach Blush. It was the last color left in the display and I seriously debated putting it back because it looked similiar to CoverGirl's Tapestry Taupe, but lighter. It was so cheap I got it anyway and am glad I did because it is much more pigmented than I expected. Silken Taupe is a nice light, yes, taupe with a pretty strong shimmer going on, very pretty as an all over shade or just a highlight. Amethyst is a a bright medium purple with a blue duochrome, also the same color found in the Amethyst Smokes Quad. With the L'oreal Decrease primer these do not crease or fade too much.

  • Sonia Kashuk Creme Bronzer with Blush Duo

I got this set in a clearance sale at Target and figured I could use it for traveling as it conveniently houses both a bronzer and a blush. This can go on too dark if you aren't careful but luckily it can be blended in. This set doesn't have any shimmer so it comes off as a more natural color. I use the bronzer sort of as a contour shade and on the very top of my forehead to add some tanned color, not too low in case it gets greasy looking. The pink, of course as a blush. Very easy to use and they even added a sponge tip applicator that I don't use but still a nice thought. Cool product that I will use but just not as excited about the colors, they can be a little on the orange side.

  • Maybelline New York Cover Stick Corrector Concealer

Maybelline New York Cover Stick Corrector Concealer

Green Corrector and Skin Color Cover Stick

This cover stick has a great thick, creamy consistency that covers up blemishes and under eye circles quite well. You do have to be careful not to put too much on or it will just start to get cakey, especially if your skin is dry. I use a skin-colored one in conjunction with the green corrector cover stick and between the two of them I'm able to cover my broken capillaries and particularly red blemishes. I use the green one first, then the skin colored one to make sure there is no hint of green on my face. These blend very well and are long-lasting, at least 6 hours for me. I have not tested their claim of it being waterproof but this has not melted off my face in the hot dry, desert.

  • Maybelline New York ExpertWear Eye Shadow Quads

Maybelline New York ExpertWear Eye Shadow Quads

Enchanted Forest, Mocha Motion, Stylish Smokes

I had a poor opinion of Maybelline's eyeshadows until I tried the Enchanted Forrest quad, and later the quads in the Stylish Smokes collection. Enchanted Forest has a beautiful, well, forest green and a gold lid shade that I love. All the Stylish Smokes are well pigmented and do not crease with L'oreal's Decrease primer on. I also own Mocha motion which is a nice set of taupey neutral browns, great for when you are in a hurry. Maybelline has improved the pigmentation in the last couple years and the shades they offer are quite pretty and can be sophisticated.

  • Maybelline New York Mineral Power Lipcolor

These are great natural colors, not too much shininess either . I have two in Ruby and Crushed Mauve. The Ruby isn't a bright red like you would expect but a toned down almost brownish, more natural red. The Crushed Mauve is practically the same color as the Maybelline Moisture Extreme Plum Wine that I adore. These go on very smooth and are moisturizing, and you can easily build up the color without a cakey appearance. I'm not a nude lip girl, I like to wear natural colors when doing more dramatic eye looks, and these add color without being overpowering.

  • Physicians Formula Organic Wear Green and Gorgeous 100% Natural 2-in-1 Bronzer and Blush

I really am loving the packaging on this line of make-up even though it means it is less durable than a plastic container. As for the colors, its true that they are not high-impact, but a more natural, barely there flush that I personally prefer. I don't like for my blush/bronzer to overpower the rest of my makeup. The ginger side goes on as a lovely pinky-peach, the bronzer I use as a contour color, its just a tiny bit darker than my olive skin. It doesn't look muddy either, just a nice matte color. I can't say for sure that this duo improves skin texture, but it does look pretty and natural on my skin. I'd likely buy this again.

  • Revlon Matte Lipstick
    9.0

    Revlon Matte Lipstick

    Fabulous Fig

The lasting power of this lipstick alone is amazing. And yes this can show off chapped lips and be a bit drying so exfoliate and use chapstick beforehand. This color is a sort of a natural red for my beige/olive skin tone. And the matte finish goes really well with a more vintage look or when you already glittered up the rest of your face. Definitely recommend if you want to break out of your sparkly/shiny lips habit and experiment with a different kind of look. The only reason I give it 9 out of 10 stars is because I'd like if they added more colors to the collection, I'd like to try more but none of the other colors interest me.

  • Max Factor Vivid Impact Highlighting Mascara

These are fun mascaras to try out. I originally tried one (Blushing Blue) had a blue base and a pink highlighter. I was so disappointed because the pink was not a visible pink, just something that made my lashes not so dark, and the base color wasn't as blue as I would have liked. So I used up the blue anyway and cursed Max Factor. Recently I decided to give these another try based on blogger Clumps of Mascara's results, plus they were on clearance for $5 since Max Factor won't be selling in America anymore. I'm glad I gave these another chance because the two I have now, Burning Bordeaux and 24 Karat Brown are great. Burning Bordeaux has a red-brown base with a reddish-pink highlight. 24 Karat Brown also has a brown base but with a coppery-gold highlight. Both these shades are clearly visible and are a cool and funky change. The base coats are not very noticeable on black lashes but you can tell that its not just black mascara. Also they did not seem to be particularly lengthening or voluminizing but they do leave you with clean, defined lashes ready for the highlight coat. I did not experience any flaking either.
