    Urban Decay Lipstick

I would give this a 10 but the asprin taste prohibits it!

I bought two of these in Oil Slick and Wanted, both sheer formulas. Wanted is a beautiful berry color, not too pink or red or bright, I find it does not compete with UD's brighter eyeshadows. Oil slick is a sheer black, looking grey but somehow still flattering when combined with your natural lipcolor. I bought this one to wear to my goth concerts, and it is once again a color that does not compete with their bright eyeshadows but does "goth" up your look without looking like a bad black Halloween lipstick. Both of these are wonderfully creamy, glide on easily and are quite moisturizing, at least compared to some drugstore lipsticks. But on my Wanted lipstick, there is a horrible bitter taste, like crushed up asprin or something. Oddly enough Oil Slick does not have this problem. I try not to lick my lips too much, but still...and yes the packaging did sell me on this, I keep a makeup bag in my purse anyway, so I don't mind the size or the dagger poking out, its unique and I like it!

  • Maybelline New York Color Plush Silk Eyeshadows

I finally caved in and bought the quad Mad for Mauve, after much indecision between it, a Lilac one and Taupe Temptress. I bought mine at Walmart for $7.96, a little steep for Maybelline eyeshadow that comes with a lot less product than their regular quads. The colors are quite pretty and I liked the unique combination of adding in an emerald color instead of another mauve. I know I probably have samiliar colors already but I like to have travel makeup, I don't want to bring 4 single shadows if I can find it all in one quad. The swatches on my arm show the colors to be quite pigmented but on my eyes...not so much. I used L'oreals Decrease primer and a HIP paint but the colors just got muddled and indistinguishable from each other; even the green. I thought I had over blended since the eyeshadows are so soft, and tried just putting them on and not blending at all...still all muddled together. It was actually quite pretty and I liked how it looked but the emerald just looked greyish and the other colors were just shades of brown instead of mauvey pink and deep burgundy. I am looking into getting a higher end primer so I'll see how it works with that. Until then I will continue to use this and may try the Lilac one... But I wish this would have worked with the primer I already have.

  • Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Eye Shadow Duo

I found mine for 2 dollars at CVS. I have the one for brown eyes, which comes with a light shimmery cream color and shimmery medium brown. The shades are very pretty and on the sheerer side, but they do still show up on me. I don't think they bring out my eye color any better than any other color I have but really almost any color will bring out brown eyes. I actually really like the packaging on these, maybe not great for traveling but I like the reasoning behind it. These are not particularly unique shades but I like most shades of brown anyway. Good to go with brighter/bolder lipcolors!

  • Physicians Formula Organic Wear Green and Gorgeous 100% Natural Superfruit Lip Gloss

I also bought mine on clearance. I do not find this to be much different than other drugstore lipglosses but I do like this lipgloss more than Maybelline's similarly packaged ones. Mine is a metallic fuchsia pink that goes on more sheer and a lot less metallic than it appears. The smell is great, Maybelline's I find to be chemical or plastic tinged. Not a bad lipgloss but I wouldn't have paid full price on it.

  • L'Oreal Paris Wear Infinite Star Secrets Eye Shadow Quad

L'Oreal Paris Wear Infinite Star Secrets Eye Shadow Quad

Makes it easy to copy a star's look.

These quads are really useful for when you want to emulate a star who has similar coloring as you. I have the Kerry Washington quad and the colors are so pretty and warm. They are easy to blend and use together, and it comes with a numbering system so you know exactly how to use it. This is the only eyeshadow I take with me on trips because this quad in particular makes for a great everyday look.

  • CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Eye-Brightening Mascara

I just like the light shimmer, buildable formula and the rubber brush that keeps your eyelashes from becoming clumpy. There is a visible shimmer if you're two inches away from your mirror, otherwise others aren't likely to notice. This does not make my eyes pop but I don't bother with those claims anyway, there are lots of eyeshadows that can do that. This stays all day, does not clump, flake, smudge, nada on me. just a great, everyday mascara with a hint of sparkle.

    Revlon Renewist LipColor

Mauvellous, not very mauve or special.

Mauvellous is a light peachy pink color, not mauve at all but nonetheless pretty. This was very moisturizing and had a nice slip to it. No fragrance or funky smells. Nothing particularly exciting and the claims about this lipstick are weird. Overall, nice colors, give it a try if you're at Big Lots but I couldn't see myself paying full price.

  • Revlon Beyond Natural Defining Eye Pencil

Not the most long-lasting of eyeliners, but it lasts long enough for my purposes. This glides on easily and adds just enough definition, if my eyeshadow is on the lighter side. The color is a pretty plummy brownish shade. I like how fat and stubby the pencil is, though at the same time it is a lot shorter than a regular eyeliner. Anyway, it is easy to create a smudgey effect.

  • Revlon ColorStay Mineral Mousse Makeup

    Revlon ColorStay Mineral Mousse Makeup

Not as good oil control as regular Colorstay, but still worthwhile.

My skin has been more oily lately and I have been looking for something lighter than the regular Revlon Colorstay to help keep shine at bay. While this does not work as long the Colorstay, I still like it and will use it. The foundation leaves a beautiful matte but natural finish, provides about light to medium coverage (I never go without concealer so I don't mind lighter coverage) and doesn't feel any heavier to me than Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse foundation. But unlike the Colorstay, it just doesn't last all day for me, it helps but I still have to blot. This is not as easily transferred as a regular liquid foundation, but again, not as well as regular Colorstay. One thing you should keep in mind if you are choosing a shade from this line is that you may have to go a shade darker than you are, the colors tend to run light. I'm on the lighter side of the medium spectrum and I had to go with medium deep. Also my Walmart didn't have all of the shades, there was maybe one or two shades darker than what I chose so I fear for darker skinned ladies who may have to try pricier drugstores for additional shades.

    Revlon Powder Blush

    Wine With Everything

The blush I have is Wine With Everything, which looks a little dark and thus clownlike, but it shows up on my skin as a medium pinkish color, and like the name says, this wine color can go with everything! It looks very natural, as with my Revlon cream blushes, and starts out light but can be built up for more color if you wish. I like to keep mine more natural though. It lasts all day on my skin. If I didn't have so many other blushes already I would try more colors but for now I'm very happy with the one I have, its a reliable product.
