    L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Balm

Sheer Light Coverage but Makes Lips Smooth

I've been testing out two L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Balms for a few weeks now and today I want to share my review with you all! I have two colors which are: #218 Rose Elixir and #318 Heavely Berry, both are very pretty light pink colors. Let's start off first with what L'Oreal claims: "Indulge your lips with Colour Riche Balm. This tinted lip balm provides a hint of luscious, kissable color, smoothing lips instantly and for a full 8 hours of continuous hydration. Lips are softer and more supple all day long—and keeps conditioning even after it’s been removed. " The L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Balms are a very smooth and lightweight balm that apply so effortlessly and give you a slight hint of color. These are super hydrating, they really make your lips feel soft and smooth for a good amount of time, they also feel very comfortable on the lips and not sticky at all! As you can see from the swatches below, these balms do offer color, (one is slight pink/rose, and one is a pink/rose purple but comes off as light pink/rose as well on the lips) they do have a very sheer coverage and the color will actually depend on the colors of your lips, meaning it will just enhance your natural lip color because this is a balm and not necessarily a lipstick. As far as coverage time, they don't last the 8 hours that L'Oreal claims but good enough where I don't need to apply it every other hour! I do love how these make my lips feel but I am not overly crazy about them because of the sheerness to them. I would highly compare these to the Maybeline Baby Lips in term of texture and feel on the lips although they are a bit pricier that the $2.99 Baby Lips; the L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Balms retail between $5.97 (Walmart) and $7.97 (Ulta). I do recomend anyone to at least give it a try with one or two, you'll love the texture, consistency, the feel, and the look of them, however I don't believe purchasing the entire collection is necessary seeing as the color payoff is not that pigmented.

  • Pond's Dry Skin Cream

    Pond's Dry Skin Cream

    HOLY GRAIL!

Quite possibly the best face cream for dry skin and for those winter months would have to be Ponds Dry Skin Cream. Ponds has been a well known household name for many centuries, in fact Ponds Cream was invented in 1846, that is about 166 years ago! As a child I remember touching my mother's face because it was so smooth, and I also remember a very light scent coming from her face, which I absolutely adored. Now that I am an adult I simply cannot live without this cream! Ponds describes the cream as "a simple but effective cream {that} delivers deep moisture for radiant skin." That is absolutely what the cream does; during the winter months, my skin tends to have dry spots, particularly my chin, around my nose, as well as around my lips and the only thing that has made winter more bearable for my skin year after year is the Ponds Dy Skin Cream. What I love about this cream is that it is hypoallergenic, which means that it will not clog your pores, it has also been dermatologist tested, and is ideal for dry and sensitive skin. Even if you have combination skin, with a few dry spots here and there I would still highly suggest this cream, to help relieve those dry spots! The cream itself it a very rich and thick product, which means a little does go a long way. Once applied on the face, it moisturizes immediately, it is not greasy at all, and it just simply feels very hydrating -- the best way to describe it is imagine your skin being thirsty and you just gave it some water! I use just a small bit of product in the mornings before applying my foundation, but apply a bit more at night time, for a more deep over night hydration. I love doing this because in the morning, my face feels super soft, very smooth, and actually quite flawless! Since a little does go a long way, it will feel greasy and oily if too much is applied, therefore apply a little bit at a time and keep adding on if needed. The Ponds Dry Skin Cream does come in several sizes, from 3 . 9 oz to 10 . 1 oz, with prices ranging from $3.99 to $8.99. This cream can be purchased at practically any drugstore such as Walgreen's, Rite Aid, Walmart, etc. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has some sort of dry spots on their face; this product is simply amazing, I will continue to use this for many more centuries to come, it is a must in my skincare routine particularly for those harsh winter months!

  • Avon mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss

Avon mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss

    Easy to control amount applied

The Mark Glow Baby Glow (Luxe) Hook Up Lip Glosses, are one of my favorite lip glosses, they are not sticky at all, they are very light weight, and they provide a nice hint of color. They come in a variety of different shades, all of which can work well with any skin tone, simply because the colors are pretty sheer. Every color does have a tint of shimmer (some more than others) however the shimmers are very minimal which is why you can use these lip glosses for any occasion, whether you're going out to a party or to work. What I like to do is wear these glosses over a matching lip stick, it definitely gives the look some vibrancy, and offers the lip stick some extra shine. It's very easy to control the amount of product you are applying, simply because of its sheerness, also you can add additional layers of product to increase its color and its intensity. The lasting power is pretty comparable to other drugstore lip glosses; within a few hours additional applications will have to be applied if you do want to maintain a vibrant color. The lip glosses do have a slight minty flavor and scent, however it is very bearable and hardly noticeable. The Mark Glow Baby Glow (Luxe) Lip Glosses retail for $6.50 and can be purchased directly from Avon.

    Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes

    Gentle yet effective

I am a BIG fan of the brand YES TO, they are a brand full of paraben free shampoos, conditioners, body butters, and daily SPF Skincare with organic carrot, cucumbers, and tomato! I own a billion and one of their products but today I wanted to do a quick review of the YES To Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes, which retail for abut $6 for a pack of 30 wipes. These wipes are super gentle on the skin which is why I love them! I have a few sensitive area on my skin and I am so happy to say that these wipes did not irritate me at all. They do an amazing job at removing makeup, even the toughest mascara comes of with these wipes. What I also love about the YES To Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes is that it does not leave a sticky feeling behind, likes a few other wipes that I've tried! I also have a few red spots/irritated spots on my face and what I love about these wipes is that they contain cucumbers and aloe vera which are amazing ingredients; for anyone who has had any skin irritation or even sunburn then you know how soothing and refreshing those two ingredients can be on the skin! These wipes not only remove makeup, but they remove any dirt, shine, oils from your face which is why they feel so refreshing during the removal process and afterwards! What are the Key Ingredients: Aloe vera (moisturizes); cucumber extract (mild astringent that exfoliates and depuffs); Dead Sea mineral salts (exfoliate and cleanse); green tea extract (astringent and antioxidant). PROS: Gentle yet effective in removing makeup, dirt, and oils Soothing and gentle to the skin Inexpensive/Drugstore/Affordable Smells amazing (like fresh cucumbers) CONS: None These wipes are fairly large which means that 1 wipe will allow you to remove a full face of makeup! I've also used these wipes anytime I feel like my face (without makeup on) is oily (usually after a run or swim) because I find that the wipes refresh my face really well. It is no surprise that the YES To Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes won Allure Magazine's Best of Beauty Award in 2011! If you want to try these towelettes they are very affordable and I highly recommend them to anyone regardless of your skin type! These can be purchased at all local drugstores as well as only through the Yes To website.

  • Lush Lip Scrub
    9.0

    Lush Lip Scrub

    Lips Never Felt So Smooth

Here's what LUSH says about the product: "Our sweetest confection exfoliates lips smooth, prepping them for your favorite lip color or balm. A blend of exfoliating Fair Trade sugar and moisturizing jojoba oil, this lip scrub is sure to leave your lips enticingly soft and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time! Scrub Bubblegum over your lips (be sure to lick off the excess) and then apply your favorite lip color for a flawless finish." I am very impressed with the quality of this scrub, first of all the scrub itself is not hard or abrasive at all, it's actually quite gentle on the lips. Although it is gentle, it does a wonderful job in removing dead skin cells from your lips. In addition, this scrub exfoliates your lips so perfectly that immediately when you rub your lips together you already feel the softness and smoothness of your lips even after using this scrub after 1 time! How to use: I use a q-tip and scrape off a little bit of product from the jar and I place it on my lips, I then slowly rub my lips together (sort of as if you had chapstick on). Once I do that for 5-10 seconds, I get a wet napkin and wipe the scrub off (I've seen people lick the scrub off which is safe but I think it's a bit gross to lick off your dead skin). Is it safe to eat? I am not a health professional but I am just going off of what LUSH and customers have stated, which is that it is ok to lick off this product and actually eat it, and that's because its ingredients are all natural. In fact LUSH is a company which not only does not test on animals, but they have all fresh ingredients, organic fruit and vegetables, in their products! Ingredients: Castor Sugar, Cold Pressed Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis), Methyl Ionone, Flavor, Polyester-3, D&C Red No. 28, D&C Red No. 21. Critics of this scub: I read a lot of reviews of people basically saying this scrub is a rip off because all its made out of is sugar. Let's be honest here, a lot of us are not experts in DIY ("Do It Yourself" basically making our own products) yes you can make a similar scrub at home for a lot less, but for me I'm not much of a DIY person and I love the fact that this tastes and smells just like bubblegum (which will be hard to re-create with your own ingredients). My overall opinion: I am glad I purchased this lip scrub, my lips have never felt so smooth! It has helped me with my chapped, dry (winter) lips, and although it can be messy is does an excellent job in exfoliating the lips! Is it worth the price? Honestly....YES, the reason is because I purchased this in November 2012 and I just finished it this month July 2013...8 months worth of scrub for $9.95 is pretty amazing! To check it out make sure to visit a LUSH store or LUSH website! Will I re-purchase? Not anytime soon, reason is because I still have my ELF Studio Line Lip Exfoliator which I highly recommended back in October 2012 and I've been neglecting it since I started using the LUSH scrub. In time, I will eventually purchase another LUSH lip scrub, but I want to try their other flavors which I believe are popcorn and mint juleps.

    Benefit Fakeup

plan on purchasing a new tube

Here's are the Fakeup claims: Cover-up goes incognito! This hydrating crease-control concealer - with Vitamin E & apple seed extract - hides dark circles & diffuses fine lines for a silky smooth, ultra-natural look. Available in three shades, it’s proven to keep skin hydrated for 6 hours!* *Instrumental test WHAT ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW: Results too good to conceal! · 100% said fakeup hydrates skin* · 100% said fakeup feels comfortable on skin* · 100% said the texture feels silky* · 94% said the effect is long-lasting* · 94% said fakeup doesn’t run* · 97% said the formula is lightweight* · 91% said fakeup conceals dark circles* · 91% saw a natural appearance* · 97% said the packaging makes it easy to use* Let me start off by letting you know my skintype; I have generally oily skin however I do have some dry patches particularly my undereye area and around my nose -- generally these are the areas that need the most coverage. The Fakeup Concealer has a moisture stick wrapped around the actual concealer which is great for my skin because the areas that actually need concealing are pretty dry and I do agree 100% that the Fakeup Concealer hydrated those dry spots! I generally apply the concealer with a concealer brush, then blend with my finger; the product applies very easily and blends wonderfully as well, and that's because it is so creamy yet doesn't slide around once it sets. Luckily the color I received was medium which happened to work perfectly for my skin color (other colors also include light and deep). As far as lasting abilities, because the areas I cover up with the concealer are fairly dry, I find that I do not need to set with a setting powder, in fact with just my foundation over it the Fakeup Concealer lasts all day, covering my imperfections and dark eye circles! The formula does feel very lightweight and not heavy at all, it literally feels like you have nothing on which I prefer because I hate the "feeling" of having too much concealer on my face! Overall, for my skintype I love the Benefit Cosmetics Fakeup Concealer, so much that I've actually just run out (took about 4 months). I do plan on purchasing a new tube, it does retail for $24.00 however for me because I have really dark circles this is the one concealer that gets the job done so the price is worth it for me, also the shade fits me perfectly which is something I've had issues with in the past with drugstore concealers! My recommendation for anyone interested is to test it out at Sephora because obviously everyone's skin is different and this may or may not work out for you! The best part is if you do purchase it from Sephora and you're not satisfied you can always return it.

  • Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil

    Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil

    shinier, smoother, cuticles

A few months ago Target had a free sample of the Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil so I quickly signed up to receive it! The cuticle oil arrived and I have finally tested it out! The cuticle oil smells amazing, I want to mention this first because it is what won me over initially! The fragrance is very light, a little bit sweet, and just like apricots, however once you rub the cuticle oil on your nails the scent eventually lingers away. How to apply? Well I generally use nail polish remover to clean my nails, even if there's no polish on it, then I use a nail filer and sand/file the top of my nails, to remove old nail cells. Then I push back my cuticles with a cuticle stick, and finally rub the Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil all over my cuticles and nails. I did find this cuticle oil to be very oily, so I basically could not use my hands for the rest of the night, which is perfectly fine because I just went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning, my nails were super soft, my cuticles were not dry and ugly anymore, overall my nails looks nice! Here's what Essie states: "natural oils provide nourishing moisture for smoother, softer, more supple cuticles. instantly refreshes and revitalizes." I do agree with the claims, my nails were a lot shinier, smoother, cuticles were clean and moisturized! The Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil does retail for around $8.00 for a .5 FL oz. bottle; you can purchase this at many local retailers such as CVS, Target, and Ulta.

  • Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Lip Gloss

I can't believe I have not reviewed this product yet because I always carry one with me every where I go, it is the Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Lip Gloss in 562B Cherry Glaze. I love this gloss because it's perfect for on the go, it applies very smoothly and provides a decent amount of color and gloss to the lips. I love adding this lip gloss on top of a red lipstick because it adds a little bit of vibrancy to the color. The gloss is not super sticky and it does have a smooth consistency to it so it always makes my lips feel smooth (with just a little dab of stickiness but nothing too crazy). A little amount is all you need and you can add a little bit more as the day goes by; what I love about this gloss is that it doesn't make your lips look super greasy like other glosses I've tried and also provides a little bit of moisture to my dry lips. These glosses do come in a variety of colors, I have noticed that some have shimmers in it, however this particular one has no shimmers at all it is purely a sheer red gloss (I've also seen some of the other colors don't provide much color but I can't speak on those because I've only tried this color). Lasting power is only about 1-2 hours, which for me is perfectly fine because I generally use this gloss when I'm on the go and just need a little bit of jazz to my lips for a few hours without looking too glammed up! These retail for $1.50 at many drugstores such as Walgreen's and Walmart.

    Tweezerman Slant Tweezer

    Worth the splurge!

I receive dozens of emails weekly asking me about which high end products are worth splurging on, and by now you ladies know that I wont rave about a high end product unless I felt like the price is justifiable and worth it. So today I bring you a review of a product that is worth every single penny, it is the Award Winning Tweezerman Slant Tweezers which retail for $22. I've been on the hunt for the perfect tweezers and I believe I have found them, first of all what is the importance of good quality tweezers? Plucking your eyebrows should be an easy and painless process and I've experienced that in the past the tweezers I was using made it very difficult to have a pleasant plucking experience. The Tweezerman Slant Tweezers are amazing for many reasons, the first being that it is sized perfectly not too small and not to gigantic! In addition, the tip of the tweezers are very flat and not too sharp which makes it super easy to pluck out even the smallest and toughest hairs in just moments! I love how these particular tweezers are slanted at the tips which is perfect for tweezing in any angle. Also, they are made of stainless steel which means that they do not easily rust or corrode, and this is why they are 100% worth every penny because you'll never have to replace it! Here's what Tweezerman had to say: " We've all been annoyed by using tweezers that don't properly grip. With superior calibrated tension and perfectly aligned, hand-filed precision tips, Tweezerman tweezers close evenly and firmly, creating the cleanest, most advanced pulling power. These are the tweezers you'll own your lifetime — and they come with a free sharpening guarantee." I can guarantee that once you use Tweezerman Tweezers you'll never go back to any other, these tweezers make the world of a difference in your brows; I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for tweezers that actually get the job done and that will last a lifetime! The Tweezerman Slant Tweezers are an investment worth making!!

This price is amazing and definitely worth it! Aside from the totally awesome color, this nail file is really amazing...here's what Tweezerman has to say about it: "Ignite your nail grooming routine with these new Neon Hot Filemates in three sizzling neon color combos. These files will match the stylish color of your nails and brighten up your purse or beauty arsenal in a flash.
