You can't help but feel like Angelina Jolie when your lips are coated with this gorgeous lipstick, which comes in many colors (the hues range from a demure gold with pink sheen to lilac, berry, and a real blue-based red, which is hard to find). I am enjoying "Speak Your Mind" (bubble-gum pink) and "Light It Up" (bright coral) for summer events. The formula is super-saturated with minerals, omega fatty acids, Vitamins A, C, and E, and a plethora of oils so that you experience only a completely cushioned, plush feel as your pout is nourished. I always love when a cosmetic treats my skin as it improves my appearance. It is long-lasting and leaves a sultry shine. What else could you ask for in a lipstick?

A lip gloss is a lip gloss is a lip gloss, right? No, especially when it comes to Too Faced's "Glamour Gloss." This is a gloss with a luscious, comforting, non-tacky, sensual feel. It is infused with jojoba, sunflower, and castor seed oils to nourish your lips, while you get an invigorating tingle and the irresistible scent of chocolate. I have this in "S*x Pot," which is a sultry, gorgeous pink/lavender. My lips may not grow in size (I've actually never spent time watching), but I feel like Angelina Jolie. This kit contains the perfect "Shadow Insurance" for eyes, "Primed and Poreless" for a flawless complexion, "Lip Insurance" lip primer to keep color in place, and the great "Lashgasm" mascara for lengthened, defined lashes. I'm in love. Again. Still with my husband, to be sure, but also now with Christian Dior's amazing highlighting pen, "Skinflash." For years I have been completely loyal and faithful to YSL's "Touche Éclat" and Christian Dior's "Diorskin Nude® Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Concealer" to conceal shadows under my eyes, deflect light, and illuminate other areas of my face. They have worked wonderfully, and I was sure that it could not possibly get better. I thought long and hard before purchasing Dior's new "Skinflash" because of my allegiance to these items. Thirty dollars does not come easily. But I didn't feel as though I was doing my skin the justice it deserves until I tried this. Christian Dior has NEVER let me down. "Skinflash" is a miracle product. Under eyes, it uses a "Light Energizing Complex™" to professionally brighten and make you look like you just awoke from the world's most relaxing, rejuvenating sleep. Dior's "Photo-Smart Pigments™" capture the light and optimally diffuse it to create a soft, relaxed, wide-awake look. I have this in "Eclat Ivoire" ("Ivory Glow"), and the formula is so delicate that I actually cannot tell where Dior begins and my skin ends--that's how flawlessly and seamlessly it blends! When my skin is not in peak shape, I use this on eyelids themselves to erase signs of fatigue. I have had inherited "laugh lines" since I was a young child (I'm NOT laughing!), and a bit of this formula softens the look here. I place at the top of my nose, where my eyes meet my nose, to make my eyes sparkle. Sometimes I will swipe it on my brow bone for an oh-so-natural but highly flattering look. Around my mouth? Yes, I perfect and slightly "redo" my lip line before lining lips and coloring them. This lightweight, silky product is enhanced with hyaluronic acid to treat skin as it alters my appearance--I like that! I have used it on blemishes,even though that is not the intent of the product. Of course, I have to add a word here; The formula is dispensed to a brush applicator after multiple twists. Do not apply to blemishes directly, or you will contaminate it. When using around the ultra-delicate eye area, use your ring finger, as it is your weakest and exerts the least pressure. Enjoy, enjoy . . .

Volta, you beauty-savvy vixen, I agree with you yet again (how did you become so smart at such a young age?). Too Faced's "Lashgasm" is indeed a great lengthening mascara, highly reminiscent of Lancôme's "Definicils." It is perfect for those with short lashes. The brush is "clean," not dense with too many fibers. It elongated my lashes greatly and separated them well. Lashes held a curl from my Shu Uemura curler. The only reason that my rating is not higher is that I experienced a bit of clumping, but this is something I would be willing to tolerate for long lashes. I had tried this before but received it again as part of Too Faced's "Beauty Editor Darlings Set." (By the way, this set is a STEAL at Sephora for $19.00. Buy it--you will be able to experience the best in face, eye, and lip primers, along with a gorgeous, volumizing rose lipgloss and mascara!)

A Surprisingly Bad Dream from Too Faced
Too Faced products rarely disappoint. Some of the best cosmetics on the planet are manufactured by this wondrous company. I was rubbing my hands together with anticipation (okay, not really) awaiting the arrival of "Better Than False Eyelashes Nylon Lash Extension System" from Sephora. That lasted about ten minutes--max. The fibers you apply which adhere to your own lashes were too much like fresh-picked cotton! They were too visible, too obvious. I have tried nearly every mascara ever manufactured (including the tiny tubes which enclose lashes), and I knew there was a problem from the start. When I waited and applied the actual color to lashes, the cotton balls morphed into very artificial, crunchy "spider legs." In short, it was a disaster. No, it was beyond a disaster. I am willing to spend any amount of time possible with mascara in order to transform my mini-lashes in Scarlett O'Hara's trance-inducing long, lush ones. I gave this several long tries. It's simply not worth it; I am actually surprised that Too Faced produced it. This does NOTHING for me. I am actually better off with Maybelline New York's "Stiletto" (did I actually just type that?)! The truth is that this is that bad. Please, save your money.

I am still confused as to why these nail enamels are called "Sephora by OPI." These are the same formula. There are a lot of lovely shades. They wear well and resist chipping (although not as well as "Seche" colors). On Sephora there is a virtual "try-on" tool where you adjust a hand picture according to your own skin tone, nail shape, and nail length. I like that. It gives you an idea of what to expect.

This is indeed a truly plush, "cushiony" gloss for lips. I like the very faint pink color it leaves on lips, with just a hint of gold. The scent is a delectable one, reminiscent of fruit. I wish it didn't wear off so quickly, however. I am withholding stars because of the lack of staying power.

My lashes are definitely not a strong point, and perhaps that's why I am continually trying one mascara after another. I found another one which I can say I truly love, Benefit's "BADgal Lash." The brush is a wonder itself--huge and very dense, making application easy, especially when you are trying to define and highlight every little lash. This gives me great volume and nice length, while lashes stay soft and pliable. I like the fact that it wears a very long time with no hint of clumping, smudging, or flaking. Thank you, Benefit!

Seche nail enamel is a delight. It is meant to be a one-coat color for busy women who don't have time to spend a long time on nails. The first shade I bought was meant for summer fun--"Scorchin' Hot." It is a relatively thick, creamy polish which provides a lot of pigment at once. Especially when applied over Seche Clear™ Crystal Clear Base Coat, it locks onto nails quickly and easily. The brush is a nice size, neither too small nor too large. I was thrilled that it never even seemed like it would "bubble" as I stroked it on. "Scorchin' Hot" is a true red, and I'm having fun with my very vivid finger and toe nails. Seche currently offers thirty-three lovely hues, from subtle to bold and everything in-between. If you visit their web site, you can "virtually" try the colors on "your" hand by adjusting the nail length and skin tone of the hand displayed. I love playing with that feature. I've already ordered more colors, such as "Precious" (a most delicate pink), "Succulent" (refined coral), "Cascade" (a bold mauve) and "Naive" (highly unusual, funky marine blue, perfect for the season and the seashore). My finger nails are quite long (thank you, B Vitamins!). I applied the color twelve days ago and have yet to experience ONE chip. I'd say that's incredible!

Seche, Inc. (owner of many cosmetic firms, including "China Glaze" nail colors) was founded in 1991 specifically to offer consumers the world's finest quick-drying, long-lasting top coat, Seche Vite™. From that one product grew a huge line with all kinds of treatments and colors for nails. After using this top coat, I realize why they have had such incredible success. The top coat is meant never to yellow and to provide the toughest, finest barrier for polished nails, keeping them looking their best, along with leaving nails stronger and resistant to chipping on their own. It is a little thicker than most top coats, but it doesn't bubble (bubbles in nail polish make me crazy). Although it doesn't dry quite as quickly as Sally Hansen's great "Insta Dri," your nails are good to go in about five minutes. The wear? Oh, it's something you have to experience yourself. I put Seche Vite™ over bright red nail polish on my fingers and toes (my fingernails are very long and I'm tough on them, often using them as "tools" even though I know I should not). Twelve days later, I do not have ONE chip. I keep looking at my hands curiously, examining them for cracks in the polish or signs that the polish is about to disappear, but they look nearly as fresh as they did the day I polished them. I love it. I have more to do than reapply polish often, and Seche Vite™ and the accompanying base coat and polish colors themselves make it absolutely possible.
