The first time I tried this on, I noticed that it had a very lotion-like consistency due to which I felt like it wouldn't work very well. After application though (I wait for at least a minute or two for the primer to set), it smoothed out my skin surface very well, ready for any foundation application. I tested it with both powder and liquid types and the foundations applied so smoothly! I like testing products to see how far I can multi-task with them. I tried this on my eyelids and it works like a charm, no eyeshadow creasing at all. This primer does help mattify the skin, which I found to be helpful for my oily skin. I have this in a sample size which is roughly thumb sized. I have owned this for 2 months now and there's still more than half remaining (I don't use makeup every day, only a couple times during the week, especially on bad skin days). As far as scent goes, I think that it is neutral, fragrance-free. This primer is one of my first few Sephora products and I love it!

This brush set was my first ever collection of makeup brushes, and I never regretted it. They are all really soft, earth friendly as well as lightweight, with the bamboo handles; I have washed them several times with mild soapy water and the bristles held up very well - no shedding at all and it's been over 2 years since I've owned them. I only wish that the eyeshadow brush was a little more fluffier, but it's just my preference, not something to worry about. The largest brush gives the perfect amount of blush on the cheeks. The bristles are fairly dense, but soft enough to add subtle color (unless you picked up too much powder on the brush ofcourse). The eyeliner brush bristles are crisp and neat, while being soft, which makes it convenient to line the eyes with a dark eyeshadow or a gel liner. The concealer brush is the perfect size, especially for use on the dark circles. Ofcourse, the soft bristles work like a charm, without me worrying about any tugging or pulling in that delicate eye area. Finally, the brow/lash comb works very well too. I have often used the lash comb to clear out mascara clumps and to make the lash appear numerous. The brow brush is also sturdy to brush through my brow hairs and set them nicely. This kit is a must buy, highly recommended if you're new to brushes!

Before I start off my review, I'd like to mention that my lashes are dark and naturally full and long. I apply mascara to either define them, or add more drama. The #1 best thing is that this mascara has natural ingredients as I don't like exposing such a delicate part to harsh chemicals. I notice well-defined, lifted, and even longer looking lashes. I like how this mascara adds a lift because it helps brighten the eyes and make them look more awake. Upon a second coat, my lashes look really long, like falsies, and the wiggling motion combined with the numerous tiny bristles on this mascara brush, separates the lashes to make them look numerous along with slight volumizing. If you are concerned about the volume, I wouldn't recommend this as the best choice; however, using the complimenting lash primer would help achieve that. I love the bamboo cover, it's very light weight and appealing. The formula is just right, in my opinion, not too runny and not too goopy either. I must admit though that as the Tarte mascara's properties state, this did make my bare lashes look healthier after only using it for about a week or so. Also, I'm not sure if I've gotten used to seeing my lashes with this mascara, or they have actually lengthened. Nevertheless, I would at least recommend giving this mascara a try, there's nothing to lose besides gaining long-term benefits of the amazonian clay in this mascara!

The kajal liner glided so smoothly along my waterline, and unlike some deceptive ones that glide easy with no color deposit, this one had a decent color pay off in one stroke. No tugging or scratching along the waterline. One thing is though that it isn't very long-wearing along the waterline, at least not for me. I use a trick where I first sweep a Q-tip lightly along the waterline to absorb the excess water, since my eyes tend to be more watery. Immediately after that, I apply the kajal liner and it stays put fairly well. Since this liner is so pigmented while being soft, I have also used this for smudging on the eyelid when creating a green smokey eye. It works very well for that as well. I would recommend using a primer on the lid before the eye makeup though since this has the potential to smudge more than you'd like throughout the day.

This was my first ever cheek stain from Tarte. Even though I have oily skin, my cheeks tend to get flaky, and this is even more emphasized if I do makeup without moisturizing enough. It will probably look untidy if the skin isn't moisturized or hasn't been exfoliated in a long time. Apart from that, on a healthy, well-moisturized skin, this applies very smoothly. I was first intimidated by the deep red color, but it is a very sheer wash of red. I apply it directly to my cheeks, lightly at first, then gradually reapplying till I am happy with the amount of color. Then I blend it out towards the temple with my fingers. It has a smooth texture and a dewy finish, perfect for the winter season. In my opinion, it can also serve as a base for a powder blush as needed.

This concealer is perfect for concealing under eye circles and it is dense enough to cover any blemishes and acne. I'm not fond of waterproof makeup, but I decided to try this because of its natural ingredients. I mainly use it to cover dark circles. For this to work best, I first applied an eye primer, because I notice that it settled in my very fine lines (I'm in early 20s). Then, using a small concealer brush, I applied a tiny amount, blending in circular motion. I finished it off with a dust of mineral translucent powder, and voila! This technique perfectly covered my dark circles and made my eyes look fresh & awake.
