  • Rimmel London Special Eyes Eye Liner Pencil

This is the only eyeliner that stays put on my waterline with a neat line that doesn't smudge or run. It perfectly outlines the inner eye corners as well, defining them nicely, which is what I love a lot about this pencil. It applies evenly, no tugging or grazing. I think that the best application for this is really along the waterlines, both along the upper and lower lids. The only thing that I've experienced with many other pencil liners is that they "leak", or run through the corners of my eyes, especially at the inner corners, creating the effect of those "eye boogers". With this liner, the problem was barely there! It didn't run, but it seemed to smudge a bit after about 4 hours of applying it. I did notice that when I brushed on some translucent powder on the inner corner area, it didn't even smudge! That's the perfect way for me to apply it to keep it in place. Overall, I think it's a great pencil liner for the price, I can't believe I never tried this brand! The only thing I would like is if it came in a waterproof formula as well. Although, I do have the Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Waterproof Pencil, and that just turns up the notch a little bit with its staying power as compared to this pencil.

  • Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal

I have to say that this drugstore brand liner even outdoes Stila's smudge sticks. Smoothly lines eyes, creamy yet waterproof texture, and rich color. You can use it as waterline eyeliner, over the lids as a pencil liner, or even to create a smoky eye by smudging it out with a blending brush; be sure to blend it immediately though because within 10-15 seconds it will become budge-proof. I don't know why I didn't find this before, I could have saved so much money instead of investing in so many other brands that either didn't last, or weren't as smooth. This might be a great dupe for Urban Decay 24/7 pencils that cost about $18 as compared to this one for $3-4! For those of you saying that it has a smudgy formula, look for Rimmel SpecialEyes Eye Liner Pencil. I'm not an advertiser for Rimmel or anything, but it's just another product of which I'm a big fan! In conclusion, this liner is very versatile, is truly waterproof, has a beautiful formula, and all in a great budget! The only thing I would love is if they can make more colors, that would be suuuperrr!

  • Olay CC Cream Total Effects 7-in-1 Tone Correcting Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15

The Olay CC cream was sent to me by Total Beauty to test over a 48hr period. For others to better relate, I have oily skin, particularly at the T-zone and chin areas. I started with a clean face, no moisturizer. The product is light and creamy, with just a pea size being enough to cover your face. It is very sheer, so even though I was given the darkest shade, it made me look tan, but ever so slightly. I don't have any fine lines, wrinkles, or age spots since I'm not in that age group yet, so I didn't notice anything on that part. I do have slightly uneven skin tone, being a little yellow around the mouth and chin area, and red at the cheeks so I was looking forward to see a neutralizing effect. The CC cream doesn't have much coverage, and other ingredients didn't make a difference there. I liked that it has some spf; my skin did feel a little luminous, not to mention well hydrated. I would recommend putting on some translucent powder over it to mattify the skin, because the illuminating effect turned into oiliness after about 4 hours of wearing it. I think that it might work better for women 50 and above because the skin tends to dry out with age and may not produce natural oils. Overall, I think that the Olay CC cream was like a moisturizer+sunscreen. with just a tiny hint of color, since all of the "7 effects" don't apply to my skin.

  • Essence Mono Eyeshadow
    10.0

    Essence Mono Eyeshadow

    Beautiful color!

I bought this in "Dance All Night", such a gorgeous color!!! It was a sparkling white gold colored eyeshadow. Ofcourse, you need to be a little watchful of the fall out, which isn't a huge problem as the shadow has that texture (no chunky glitter though). I pat it on the lid with an eyeshadow, literally in a gentle patting motion. Blending will cause fall out, in which case you can use a scotch tape to take off the fall out. It wears through the day very well, given that you apply eye primer. Most makeup tends to wear out or crease on my eyes so I use an eye primer if I'm wearing eye makeup for more than 3 hours. The texture of the eyeshadow is so smooth, and you cannot beat the price for the great price, less than $4! This shade I had was my first time trying Essence eyeshadows, now I need to get more colors!

  • Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-hour Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen

I love the texture of this BB cream! My first one I ever tried and loved! It has a nice creamy texture, and just a pea size of the Tarte BB cream can spread over my palm. I highly recommend applying with your finger tips, because I noticed that it caked on me, or applied streakily when applied with makeup brushes. It evens out skin tone very well, covering all the red and yellow patches on my face to create a flawless neutral canvas. I was slightly skeptical about the shades since they are so limited, but the "light" shade was a true match for my skin tone. I found that it can be applied directly to clear, moisturized skin without the need of a primer, foundation, or even a concealer/corrector. The only thing I added on top of the BB cream was a light dust of translucent or mineral powder on the under eye area to prevent possible creasing of the cream, and on the T-zone because my skin is oily, and the cream might add to the oily effect. Otherwise, the texture is very smooth, not too oily like a typical face cream. It had great coverage, medium-full coverage from my perspective. I have issues with dark circles, but this covered them very well too. I love Tarte products in general and can't believe how amazingly this works, do try a sample at least and you might be entranced!

  • Too Faced Primed and Poreless Powder

I tried applying this before foundation and after. Personally, I liked dusting the powder after my foundation. It is tricky to apply foundation over the powder because the texture appeared uneven. The trick is to apply it by swirling a kabuki or any fluffy face brush onto the powder, tapping off the excess on a flat surface (I like to use the lid of the container for this), then light-handedly, apply it all over the face. It helps control oiliness as well. After putting it on at 9am, by 5pm I noticed 'dewiness', which would normally be an oily layer. I mainly apply it around my nose area since I have noticeable pores there, then go over the oily areas like the nose, forehead, and chin. Make sure to apply some blush or bronzer after this because your face may seem to lack dimensions (or so I experienced because my face did become flawless). If you have a naturally great skin, this can also be applied as a single layer to cover up the excess pores and oil control. I have yet to try it in the fall/winter, but so far in the summer, it's working very well!

  • Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara

I really don’t understand why this product has such a low rating. In my opinion, it really transformed my lashes, making my eyes look awake, and my lashes literally doll-like. I have naturally long, dark lashes that are noticeable without the mascara. I first tried this at a Lancome counter at Herberger’s and was completely wowed by the result. The formula seemed just right, neither too runny nor goopy. As I applied it, this gave my lashes a nice lift. I like that it has a slightly tapered end because it makes it more convenient to cover the lashes at the inner corners of the eyes. Once I applied it, I had it on for the whole day. The lashes didn’t clump together, there was no bulky mascara residue over them, just the same amount that I layered on earlier. There was no flaking or smudging, my eyes looked wide awake. It actually gave this really pretty look to my lashes, particularly for the ones along the outer corners of my eyes. It gave a flirty outwards lift to them which no other mascara has done for me before! My lashes looked fuller and numerous, as this mascara separated them (as long as the application technique is right too). This all was experienced with one coat of mascara. I am not fond of layering on too much of chemicals on my lashes, so I normally stick to one layer, unless the mascara doesn’t work well in the first layer. My friends said that something looked different about me, in a good way, but they couldn’t really figure out. All in all, I love this mascara! Only downside for me is the killer price - $26!!! I adore the packaging too, the curvy, feminine shape of the mascara vial, as well Lancome’s flowery pattern.

  • Juice Beauty Oil-Free Moisturizer

    Juice Beauty Oil-Free Moisturizer

    Truly Oil-Free Moisturizer!

This is a very balancing lotion. I love the fact that this is organic because it makes it so pure and hypoallergenic, not to mention that it doesn’t clog pores either. This was my first time trying a plant-based moisturizer too. In general, during dry seasons, my skin tends to get dry patches at my cheeks, jawline, or near the chin area ever after applying a moisturizer. With this, however, I didn't have any dry patches and it evened out my skin surface. It has no traces of silicon so it actually does help restore skin's surface and possibly boost cell renewal. I also loved the fact that it was so light-weight, even during the summer. I had no breakouts and my skin wasn't an oil slick! The best part is that its skin smoothing properties makes it possible for my skin to look and feel good for makeup application. The only downside that MIGHT happen for SOME, is that it could be sticky. That's how it was for me, so I tried a trick. I left my face slightly damp after washing it in the morning, THEN applied this moisturizer. My skin soaked it up immediately without feeling sticky and obviously, due to the dampness, the moisturizer had a better spread over the skin surface too. Overall, this is a very gentle, healing moisturizer. The only thing I could ask for is some SPF, but it really is so light-weight that I don’t mind wearing sunscreen over it. Aside from the skyrocketing price of $28 for a 2oz. tube, I highly recommend trying this product!

  • Vaseline Jelly Original
    10.0

    Vaseline Jelly Original

    A Staple Product

I own a couple fancy chapsticks or lip balms, but this always serves as a life saver. If I'm going to a job interview, this is sure to be in my purse. Ofcourse Vaseline is a reliable brand, and the petroleum jelly, as one of the previous reviewers mentioned, every home MUST have some! Personally, I'm not a fan of oily/greasy moisturizers, they bother me big time. The only reason why I use this is because I know it is made of pure ingredients that are perfect for even the most sensitive skin. Obviously I would never apply it on my hands because I know I'll be checking messages on my phone frequently. You can not only use it for dry lips or skin, but as a cuticle oil - I don't like buying fancy cuticle oils, and since a little cuticle massage with this makes my fingers look healthy, I'm happy! I use this as an ointment on rashes, or even cuts, especially when they can dry up and sting in the winter. This is handy in taking off a ring or bangle that is too tight, to cover up random dry skin patches, smooth out frizz by running a hand lightly over your hair, and ofcourse for cracked heels...apply a generous amount at night and wear socks to sleep, then say good morning to amazingly moisturized feet. I highly recommend this product, it's cheap and easy to use! Great multitasker!

  • Real Techniques Stippling Brush

    Real Techniques Stippling Brush

    Fabulous Multitasker!

This was the very first brush I bought from Real Techniques, since I was on the look out for a good stippling brush. There are options like MAC or Japonesque, but those were too high end for me, and luckily, I found this at Ulta. I immediately fell in love with it! The bristles are so plush, you can never feel any poking or grazing against the skin. It has a strong handle (aluminum, I think), and the bristles stay intact very well. I have washed it with mild soap water so far and it hasn't let me down. It works perfectly well with powder, liquid, and cream textured cosmetics. I originally bought it for foundation application, but once I was doing my makeup in a hurry and ended up applying my blush, bronzer, and the finishing powder, all with this single brush! And the amazing bristle design allow you to apply just the right amount of makeup without looking cakey, streaky, or patchy. Make sure to start with little amount of makeup first as you can always add more, then stipple this brush onto it, and apply in circular motions on your skin. It gives a flawless, beautifully airbrushed look! I like that the brush handle ends in a flat edge instead of thee typical smooth, rounded tip, because with this you can 'stand' the brush on its tip while doing something else. I love the color of the handle as well and how it's such a sleek design. Amazing addition to my makeup collection! All this excellence for only $9-10! I highly recommend this to everyone, best, affordable stippling brush, ever!
