First, let me say what I like about Pro-X Age Repair Lotion. It's an SPF 30, and I personally feel that an SPF 30 is essential for everyday but that's a debatable issue for some people. Regardless, a 30 isn't going to hurt anything, so why not? I also appreciate the 8 years of research and development that's behind Olay Pro-X products and I'm extremely blown away by the clinical data and photographs I've seen on the test participants. That being said, what I don't love is the sunscreen-ish scent of the lotion and the fact that I get more shiny than usual when I wear this throughout the day. I think we all could do without that! I believe that more mature and dehydrated skin-types will do well with this though, so I'm not completely against this product. I will use this as a day off moisturizer with sunscreen but not for every day. I do score it with an 8 though based on the anti-aging technology and SPF 30 regardless!

I've tried a few of the products out of the new Olay Pro-X line, and while not all of them are for me-- I like a few of the products in the line. The Eye Restoration Complex is my favorite out of the Pro-X collection. Although I've only been using it for 10 days, I do see a little improvement in my squint lines on the sides of my eyes. This doesn't irritate that sensitive area at all and it doesn't conflict with my concealer under my eyes unlike so many other eye creams, so that's another perk. I know a lot of people aren't happy that a new Olay Pro-X product has a higher price point than some of the other regular Olay items-- keep in mind that 8 years of research and development went into this line. Pro-X is trying to mimic the results of prescription only treatments with a new technology and complex they discovered. So why not give it a chance?

This mascara is just insanely fluttery! It gives great length and curl, and the formula isn’t stiff and brittle on the lash. Napoleon Perdis Long Black Mascara is definitely makeup arsenal-worthy, girls.

I've always thought Borghese polishes were pretty at my local drugstore but I was really hesitant to try them because I wasn't familiar with the brand. I'm really glad I finally did because they're great! I think the brush makes it much easier to get to the sides of my nails and doesn't leave any brush strokes or streaks. I love these polishes! I will definitely pay more attention to them at CVS.

I am a mascara junkie and I've got one for just about every occasion. This is just an amazing lengthener and definer. My lashes were seriously amplified and I'm usually not a fan of the dual-ended mascara. It works best if you do one eye at a time with both the base and then the topcoat right after each eye. For example-- not doing both eyes with the base coat and then the top coat on both eyes. It washes off really easily and comes off in little "tubes". This gave my lashes some vavoom!

Okay, so my follicles are pigmentally-challenged. I don’t even think that’s a word but moving on… I face the daunting task of touching up my new-growth about once every 2 weeks. I promise I’m not exaggerating! I’ve been coloring my hair to cover up gray since I was about 20 and over the years it hasn’t gotten any easier. I can hardly stay on top of it. Luckily, I’m a licensed cosmetologist so I can stroll on into the professional beauty supply at my leisure and stock up on professional color and do my retouches at home, all by my lonesome. I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head that I know personally who could afford to visit their stylist every 2 weeks to color their hair so I consider myself lucky. I hate the smell of haircolor, and I hate how long it takes even more! My current processing time is 25 minutes and it seems about 24 minutes too long in my opinion. Since I have access to some of the best color brands that only professionals can buy, you know I’m going to be picky about my color. Clairol promises perfect haircolor in 10 minutes with Perfect 10. You know I have to take them up on those claims because if I can cut my current processing time of 25 minutes down to 10, I’m going to be kissing someone’s feet. *sings* Awe-some! 10 minutes left me with a comparable result to the brand I’m currently using with less undesirable odor in the formula. The conditioning treatment left my hair shiny and a little coconut scented, the grays were GONE. You can use the brush or the applicator tip inclosed. I found the brush to be a little bit cumbersome at first but with a few tries you’ll get it. If in doubt, just use the regular bottle tip. I only paid $10 at my local Target and will snatch a few up the next time they go on sale. Yay for 10 minute haircolor! That whole thing where I said I was going to kiss someone’s feet? Can I just give them a hug instead?

Most of us usually cringe at the thought of putting any oil in our hair, it’s just the word “oil†that mentally blocks us from even giving things a chance when it comes to our hair and skin sometimes. I have fine hair and oil doesn’t normally do too well with that. But… Moroccan Oilon the other hand isn’t just some greasy hair oil. I promise. I totally get it now. Moroccan Oil is Holy Grail worthy in the haircare department and I see why. This is an Argan Oil treatment/styling aid and puts a few of my other hair products on notice to step up their game. It quickly absorbs into the hair and doesn’t hang out and make my hair lifeless and weighed down. It’s a perfect weapon against the battles I wage with my flat iron. While it is a little on the pricier side, it’s not any more than what most other salon/prestige brands are. I will probably have this same bottle for a very, very long time.

I’m a fan of the twinkling doe-eyed look and I’m loving Laura Geller’s Wonder Wand for that purpose. For subtle highlight on the brow bone and inside/outside corners, this is PERFECT! Not too light, not too white, not too sparkly. After you finish your eyeshadow application it also looks really pretty with just a little pop of this on top of your shadow in the center of your eyelid. Cute little jar and applicator too.

Pur Minerals has a selection of over 30 mineral eyeshadows that retail for only $13 each. Pink Zircon and Moon Pearl are gorgeous! One of the things I noticed immediately was how soft and creamy the texture is, they feel so moist. I love that they’re housed in a cute and functional compact. When you pop open the bottom of the compact, there’s an applicator and mirror– you’re not going to find that in a lot of eyeshadows in general, let alone a mineral shadow. I’m very happy with these but I do recommend a primer to make the color really pop.

Pur Minerals really impressed me with their eyeshadows, and I’m happy with their lip glosses too! They have the right amount of color on the lip, stay glossy, and don’t get gummy or sticky. While I can’t give an account of any “pout plumping†from the glosses, I can say they are pretty moist which will contribute to a plump pout. Let’s take a look at 3 of the colors– Bronze Sassolite, Copper Canyon, and Pink Opal. To the pout plumping claims, I will say this– these Pur Minerals Lip Glosses contain Maxi-Lip which is a patented plumping peptide that results in a cumulative effect. I obviously haven’t been using these long enough to speak to those claims, and I want to be fair. I’m curious if you gals have– so email me or leave me a comment and let me know! I do enjoy these glosses and if there was one thing I could change it would be the flavor/scent. I really don’t mind… they are SO pretty! I’ve been impressed with everything I’ve tried from Pur Minerals recently, my Spidey-sense is picking up on some future purchasing going on here.
