  • Clairol Natural Instincts Semi-Permanent Hair Color

I couldn’t believe that this gave coverage on my greys, at all! I went in to this saying, “No way. This is not possible. I’m going to have to break out permanent color tomorrow.” Not so! I haven’t even reached the best part yet– it only took 10 minutes. I applied this on slightly damp hair at my roots for 5 minutes, worked it through the rest of my hair for 5 minutes, and rinsed it out. That’s it. I applied the Color Treat conditioning treatment that was provided, rinsed it out, and wah-lah. Perfecto. It covered my greys! My hair is shinier than when I began, it doesn’t feel dry at all, and it was a perfect color match. Enough time hasn’t elapsed for me to tell how it’s going to fade with future shampoos, but if the initial result is any indication of Natural Instinct’s performance, I would use it again.

  • Comodynes Sunless Tanning Towelletes

Here I am, your loyal beauty blogging servant. Walking around the streets of Los Angeles with self tanner on one arm and not the other because I’m all about testing performance! Known for “convenient cosmetics”, Comodynes serves up safe-sun with their Self-Tanning Towelettes. Hi, can you say affordable at only $12.99 for 8 towelettes? I have paid double that for 5 of lesser quality from a brand that shall remain nameless for now. The Comodynes towelettes do use that often dreaded DHA ingredient for the development of sun-kissed color, but minus the funky scent. These actually smelled fresh and citrusy. I only noticed the DHA for a moment after it had dried down and it wasn’t horrid at all. A few hours after application, I felt I had achieved believable color that was great for my pasty skin and not too in-your-face. Now, let’s even this out and do my legs.

  • T3 PRO Pink Hair Dryer

My favorite hair dryer in the Universe right now! Compact, powerful (1800 watts), lightweight, quiet, 3 heat settings with a cool shot… what more could you want? Tourmaline makes this baby different– it emits ionic energy and far infrared heat. Cuts my dry time by several minutes depending on the style and makes my products work so much better!

  • Maybelline New York Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Washable Mascara

The brush tapers at the tip, and I like that because it contours to the shorter lashes on the inner corners of the eye. Have you ever poked yourself with a full-size tip there? It’s not my favorite thing in the world. The dense bristles on the brush grab each lash as you go along, coating it in the shiny formula. I know it sounds kinda silly that I could possibly think a mascara looks or sounds sexy, but this does to me! The name, the shape of the tube, the red at the end…

  • Harvey Prince Ageless Fantasy

Is it possible that a perfume can make you appear 8 years younger? Harvey Prince believes so, with the release of their new Ageless Fantasy Perfume. Here’s what they have to say: AgelessFantasy® is the World’s first anti-age perfume. A woman’s fragrance that smells like a younger Woman. Our products have been designed to be environment friendly and absolutely safe for application on your skin. The products are based on research and expertise of leading dermatologists & doctors. AgelessFantasy® steps out of the confined box of the average fragrance and body care products. This anti age elixir is to be consumed without any moderation: both in and out of the shower and bath, for generous use anytime you wish! I do believe it is true that an airy fragrance like Ageless can make you feel younger, which in turn will make you appear a little younger in the aura you give off alone. But 8 years? Hmm. I’m not sure. Scientists at Rutgers University have conducted extensive behavioral research and have found that fruity and floral imprints do actually affect our emotional health. So if you feel and act younger, the chances are you will appear younger. Simple, right? Believe it or not, I do subscribe to that idea! The scent of grapefruit is actually one of those fragrances that have been found by scientists to support their research suggesting men find women who wear citrus and tropical fruit scents “younger”, and Ageless is loaded with it. It’s a feminine, sweet fragrance with notes of mango, pink grapefruit, pomegranate, and a very light musk. It’s ethereal, youthful, and cheerful. I actually really enjoy wearing Ageless just for the scent alone and I’ll continue to wear it, but not because I think it will make me look 25 again all on it’s own. But I’d like to think it does! I feel a little burst of positive energy when I wear it, and while it’s not Prozac or anything– it does seem to make me happier. What do you think? Can you turn back the hands of time with a perfume?

  • L'Oreal Paris EverPure Moisture Conditioner

I usually don't get overly excited about a shampoo or conditioner. I'll blog about it's scent, value, packaging, and research claims. I can usually tell immediately if I like one or not. The second the L'Oreal Everpure Shampoo started lathering in my hair, I knew this one was a winner! It just felt different and made my hair smell like a cup of tea-- which I actually liked! For sulfate-free products, these do the job surprisingly well. The shampoo does not strip my hair, but it just feels clean-- not just looks clean. The conditioner is hydrating but doesn't weigh down my hair at all making it possible to still get volume when I style it. In the tube, I was tempted to keep squeezing and take out more than I needed, so be mindful that this is one of those shampoo/conditioner combos that does not take a lot. When you look at the prices of the higher-end sulfate-free and Vegan shampoos & conditioners out there, L'Oreal EverPure can go head to head with them and probably win if you ask me!

  • CoverGirl Wetslicks Amazemint Lipgloss

The first thing I love-- they have a sweet vanilla peppermint taste and scent that helps freshen your breath. The blue tones in the shades help to brighten your smile, and these glosses are cooling on the lip. My favorites are Toast-ed, Everything's Rosy, and Happy Hour-- which is a clear shade that looks blue in the tube and applies sheer. That blue tint won't transfer to the lip, but it did help enhance the brightness of my smile. These are not sticky at all and are pretty moist. For a drugstore gloss-- these are what I consider to be an awesome buy at about $6 here locally. With 13 shades available, I'm probably going to pick up a few more that I like.

  • Beauty Society Photo Shoot Facial Primer

Photo Shoot retails for $38.50 which isn’t too bad. That seems about the going rate for a primer these days so no complaints there. This primer applies translucent, so don’t be fooled by the beige color in the bottle. I found it to give off a brightening effect without all of the sheen usually associated with those brightening creams and primers, so that was another perk. One pump is all it takes to smooth onto your skin to prep for foundation, but this will also work pretty well as a mattifier and line diffuser on it’s own. Sometimes when I’m feeling a little lazy I’ll put my sunscreen on and just apply a primer to blur out little imperfections like my enlarged pore size and then my neighbors don’t get startled when I’m coming down the stairs! Photo Shoot will also be great for that little trick I pull. With foundation, it works even better, I’ve tried it with both a mineral and liquid foundation and it performed equally as well. I don’t have any complaints– it did what it was supposed to do and held my makeup in place for the day which I appreciate. I did stay significantly more matte than if I hadn’t used a primer at all.

  • CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain

I think every gal should own at least one stain, and this is one of the best I've tried in a pen form. Most of the other lip markers I've ever tried dry out really quickly and I don't get much use of them. But several weeks later, I'm still wearing Sassy Mauve! These are about $7.50 in my area and I've seen them for less or with a buy 1 get 1 deal. If you can, definitely check these out-- last night, I applied Wild Berry Wink before dinner, and when I woke up this morning I still had some on!
