  • St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea Scrub

I only have a travel size of this scrub, but I've always liked it. I like how it's not as gritty as some other scrubs, so it isn't quite as harsh on the skin. It also seems to work well for helping prevent breakouts, which is always a problem for me when traveling. It has a pleasant scent, leaves my face feeling clean but not dry or tight (or irritated), and I don't need very much to clean my face, so that one travel size tube is lasting a long time, even though I did a fair bit of traveling since I bought it. I would buy it again, if I can find it (I don't think I've seen it anywhere since I purchased it).

  • Fresh Sugar Icon Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15

These are my favorite lip balms. I especially love the tinted versions, with Sugar Plum being my absolute favorite. Passion is nice, too--like the Rose but with deeper color. The scent and texture is wonderful, though I find I have to be careful to not apply too much or the color looks a little off and the texture can get weird. But it's good to only apply as much as you need because these are pricey and can run out quickly with frequent use.

  • Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour

I only have a sample size of the color that used to be called Pink Champagne. Thank goodness this color still exists, though under a different name, because it is a perfect "nude" shade for my coloring. It feels very nice on--creamy and hydrating--and it lasts really well, too. It also doesn't have any off-putting scents or odors to it. Definitely a high quality lipstick that I will be purchasing again.

  • E.L.F. Studio Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

I LOVE the texture of this tinted moisturizer and I love that it has SPF. I wore it several times and under my bathroom lighting I thought it blended perfectly and looked natural with my skin tone. Unfortunately, the 3rd or 4th time I wore it, I caught my reflection in a mirror in natural sunlight and my face and neck were two distinctly different colors. It's really an excellent product, but just because it's light coverage doesn't mean you shouldn't test out the shade in multiple kinds of light (seriously, I know better--I don't know what I was thinking) to make sure it matches! (And I still have not found a tinted moisturizer I like that doesn't look bad on my fair skin.)

  • Benefit Dr. Feelgood

This is the first makeup primer I ever bought, so at first I loved it because I didn't know any better. Eventually I noticed that it didn't really do anything except make skin feel softer immediately after it's applied (the feeling doesn't last!). It didn't make my skin any less shiny by the end of the day. It didn't help my makeup last longer. It has a strange, almost medicinal smell. And the instructions are bogus (apply on top of makeup? that just wipes the makeup off!). I got rid of it and started trying new primers until I found one that ACTUALLY worked. Sad, because I do love most Benefit products I've tried.

  • Benefit Benetint Lip Balm SPF 15

I love this lip balm! It's great alone for just a hint of color. I also like to dab it on over a matte red lipstick to tone down the color just a bit and give it some shine. It doesn't stay on all that long, but most balms I've used don't. It also has a nice scent and you don't need much to get that hint of color, so the one jar lasts a long time.

  • Benefit One Hot Minute Face Powder

This is an outstanding bronzer for fair skin. It's one of the only powders I've found that I can brush all over my face (like most people do with darker bronzers) and I actually get a nice, natural glow instead of looking ridiculous and/or orange. "Rose-gold" really is the best way to describe the color and it does have a bit of shimmer to it so I still try to use it with a light hand so as not to end up too sparkly. I never liked the brush that came with this. They might be on to something with the fan shape, but the lack of a good handle made it seem useless to me. I understand it had to be shaped that way to fit in the container, but I eventually threw it out (this is why I took off one star, otherwise it's definitely a 10 star product). I like the screw on lid and I recommend leaving the plastic insert in place or it might make a bit of a mess. It's definitely best to test this out in store before buying, because I'm not sure how well it will work on darker skin tones, but on my fair skin I think it's just lovely.

    Benefit You Rebel Lite

    Didn't even purchase

I tested this out in store and couldn't even bring myself to buy it (even though I knew Sephora would let me return it if needed). For one, it was too yellow. Yes, it's lighter than the normal You Rebel, but that doesn't help if it's going to give my fair skin a yellow tint. Second, it was SUPER greasy. Now, I realize it's a moisturizer, but even on the back of my hand, the moisture didn't seem to sink in. It just sat there looking shiny. I'm all for dusting with powder when needed, but I have oily skin already and I didn't need it to look even worse. So I wiped it off with a tissue and walked away. I wish they would update the formula so it would be a little better. I have yet to find a tinted moisturizer I actually like and matches my skin tone.

  • Benefit pocket pal

    Benefit pocket pal

    Not impressed

I was so excited for Pocket Pal because I'd read all about how great Benetint is, but I didn't end up enjoying this product at all. It took a lot of time and effort to get any color to show up at all on my lips then when I tried to top it with the clear gloss, half the color would come off anyway. The color also had no staying power, which was surprising since this is supposedly a "stain" and reapplication took too long. Once or twice I tried the stain on my cheeks and when I could blend quickly enough it worked fine for that, but eventually I gave up and stopped using it entirely.
