  • Burt's Bees Lifeguard's Choice Lip Balm

This balm is only SORT OF good if you don't mind having white lips. Even if you're ok with the white (for the sake of sun protection), the texture is very, very strange. I wore it once and never again!

  • E.L.F. Essential Soothing Lip Balm

I didn't really like this one. In fact, I was so unimpressed with it, I finally just threw it out without finishing the tube (rare for me, even with products I don't care for). The scent and flavor did not at all match up to what it was supposed to be and I didn't find it to be moisturizing at all.

    Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo

    Expensive, doesn't work

My boyfriend has remained loyal to his barber over the years, which eventually landed him at an Aveda spa to get his haircuts. He has a receding hairline and his barber really pushed this shampoo on him, claiming it would help slow down his hair loss. Honestly? Neither of us has noticed any change and he's been using it for a couple of months. Mostly it just costs a lot of money.

  • Aveda Madder Root Shampoo

I love this shampoo, especially when I used it with the coordinating conditioner. I didn't expect the shampoo alone to brighten up my natural red hair as well as it did, but the few times I used it without the conditioner, it really did still make my hair color glow. I only stopped using it (and deducted one star) because it's so pricey. Otherwise it's an excellent product.

  • Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme

This is my 2nd favorite hand cream, I think. I don't love the price, especially considering how often I use hand cream (several times a day, especially when I'm at work). This is a nice thick cream, so I only need a small dot to moisturize my hands and the moisture really holds well. It's not too greasy and the scent is pleasant without getting in the way of whatever perfume I'm wearing. Overall it's a very nice hand cream, even doing well with moisturizing cuticles (and I have lots of trouble with dry cuticles). I definitely recommend this one, if you don't mind spending the money.

    Aveda Control Paste

    Great product!

My boyfriend buys this for his hair, but I steal a little from time to time to style my pixie cut. This is a really great product that gives excellent texture for styling without any greasy look. You don't REALLY need very much but if you overuse it, it won't make your hair look dirty or gross. The scent is also nice without being too heavy or overwhelming.

  • Aveda Madder Root Color Conditioner

This is a 10 star product, I only deducted one start because it's so much more expensive than I would like it to be. This conditioner really does boost the red tones!! It works great in natural or dyed red hair and will even add red highlights to brown hair (which is how I figured out that my roommate at the time was using my conditioner without asking--I didn't really care except when I asked her about she lied! I could see it in her hair!! Crazy). I also loved how soft and shiny this made my hair and the scent is very nice. Unfortunately I just couldn't justify spending so much on conditioner when my natural red color is pretty great all on its own.

  • John Frieda Radiant Red Color Last Conditioner

I did not like this conditioner at all. I have natural red hair, that I had dyed a different shade of red at the time. My hair color still faded just as quickly as with any other shampoo AND it dried out my hair.

  • Victoria's Secret So Sexy Volumizing Shampoo for Fine Hair

I used these for awhile when I was working at VS (employee discount!) but I was never very impressed with the results. It got my hair clean enough, I suppose, but even with the discount it was too pricey. Scent was nice!

  • Dove Daily Moisture Shampoo

I use this shampoo daily and I really like it. There's nothing overwhelmingly awesome about it, other than its low price and the fact that it does the job. It gets my hair clean without damaging it or leaving any residue behind. I bought a large bottle at a bulk store and it has lasted a LONG time (my hair is short so I only use a tiny bit every day). I love that I'm saving loads of money over salon brand shampoos that work as well but come in smaller bottles.
