    DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

Great Make Up Remover, Ok Refreshing Clean Feel

I have been using this oil for years and cannot believe that I have never written a review about it as it's one of my favorite daily beauty items! Everything that is promised about this product is true. It removes eye make up so quickly and efficiently without any major pulling or eyelash loss. The oil glides easily on to the face and rubs in very well. The smell is ok - like straight olive oil, which I don't mind at all. The oil doesn't provide a super clean or refreshing feeling so I used it to desolve make up and then upon adding water it turns into a thin cleanser. I don't feel this is enough for me so I usually use something fresh for my face just to feel super clean (but not squeaky)! Either way, it's a basic beauty staple that lasts forever. Highly recommended even if alternate with another cleanser.

    Biore Steam Activated Cleanser

Loved the Experience, But Dried Face Out...

I had received a bunch of samples of this product and decided to use them when away for a week - this is a very clean and refreshing product! Many websites will claim that the steam activation means nothing and it just a bogus promise and that's ok because either way, this cleanser really leaves the skin refreshed. I've been searching for a cleanser that is not too floral scented or too much like deodorant for my face but is still very fresh and this one delivers on that count. The experience with this cleanser is great and makes me feel really clean. I was convinced that I would run to the store and find this cleanser locally while I was out of town...but then the two stars came off of my review. Why? Because after a week of using, I enjoyed the experience very much but i didn't enjoy that this cleanser seemed to dry my face out over time. I saved a bit for my at home experience and found that yes, it dries the skin out a lot more than others so I had to say goodbye to this great experience. If it was a bit less stripping this would be my favorite cleanser (a 10) by far! Still recommended for a try and with such a low price point, it could be very well worth your time.

    Horrible Scent - Nothing Special

I received this cream for a gift. Upon opening the first thing that i noticed was the scent - horrible. Almost like old wax maybe? nothing good and there...but I figured that i would use it because I've heard great things about this cream. It glided on easily but I suffered through the scent for quite some time and I can't even say that this cream has made my skin feel any better moisturized than not using cream at all. Not a great moisturizer, nothing special and the smell is pretty bad. I wouldn't recommend this cream at all.

  • Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Body Butter

I'm a big fan of body butters and a very religious user (nightly ritual...like every night), All in all I love body butters, period. I have about four different types of body butters on my nightstand and I am no snob to using a new brand or trying new scents. With that being said, Bath and Body Works makes a good body butter but it's certainly not my go to brand. The scents are often very strong and sweet....a bit commercial and sometimes this can be fun. The consistency of the lotion is a bit lighter than the Body Shop (my number one favorite) so could be good for someone that doesn't need super intense hydration. The butter glides on well and is thick and moisturizing as promised. If I hadn't used Body Shop and Bliss butters this would have been my favorite. I'm not a big fan of the sweet scents/selection as I really like the more natural scents that the Body Shop offers, BUT I am addicted to coconut lime breeze body butter from bath and body works. On the rare occasion that I do find a scent that I love, I tend to buy it in bulk as bath and body works really likes to discontinue every favorite scent that I find. Still a great butter, but there are better...

Never Get Enough - Favorite Hand Cream

I used to love Ahava hand lotion but they changed the scent and I couldn't stand the new smell so I went back to my old tried and true cream from childhood: Palmers Cocoa Butter. This cream can be used anywhere on the body and smells delicious! So comforting and addicting during the winter months. It is a little greasy for some, but for me, its absolutely perfect. It is a very thick lotion but it absorbs quickly. This is a must every time that I wash my hands (which is a lot at work) and I feel that it keeps my hands in optimal shape and constantly moisturized. I recommend this after a lifetime of using. Something that I will never get enough of. With such a low price point this is a no brain buy. Highest recommendation possible.

    Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush

    Didn't Help Me

I like to soak my brushes for a day in order to clean them, this one is too absorbent and holds water...and then never dries. The soap got stuck in it and the brush part is kind of loose. I know everyone said that this brush was durable but I didn't think so as the brush part fell out a few times. Not very excited by this brush. Didn't use it after a while and was mad that I spent a significant amount on it.

  • NYX Cosmetics Rouge Cream Blush

I bought this product at the same time as buying the Revlon Photoready Cream blush so that I could compare both. I love the Revlon brand more but I think they are both great depending on the look that you are going for. This cream blush is creamier than the revlon and more highly pigmented so you just need a dab for it to show up. There's no need to really layer this one too much. It also stays more dewy and creamy on the cheek. The revlon is a cream that changes to powder but somehow it feels more blendable with makeup or on bare skin. This one seems to just sit where you put it on your cheek and if you don't rub it off enough then you will look blotchy or like you got hit in the spot that you put it. Revlon goes on pretty sheer and you have to keep layering to get a pigmented color. Bottom line, they are both cream blushes and very similar - get this one if you want a more pigmented and wetter/dewy look but be prepared to work hard to blend in. If you want a more matter/powder look with lighter coverage and blendability (layering is a must) then get revlon. Again, very similar items. PS - for nyx I was a little bit disappointed with these and like their stick blushes so much more than both products mentioned above. Happy blushing!

Maybelline New York Volum' Express The Falsies Washable Mascara

Shape of Brush is Great, Formula Not So Much

I love the shape of this brush and this is definitely among the best mascaras that is offered on a drugstore level. The brush shape definitely curls your lashes up and allows them to open your eyes (no curler needed) but I feel that the formula is just too thin. Yes, it can leave your eyelashes looking wet at first, but then it dries and your eyelashes aren't that thick. The length part is pretty good, but the thickness and volume is lacking. Also, there is a flaking problem which is very bad for contact wearers...Good try by the drugstore brands...but has some small cons.

  • Sephora Cream Lipstick

    Sephora Cream Lipstick

Long Lasting, Creamy, True to Color on Tube, Well Pigmented

I will start by saying that I'm more of a gloss person or maybe lipliner and gloss...I've never liked the taste of lipstick or the need to reapply. The "feel" of lipstick and the drying element have always irked me and made me run from any lipsticks. It's the one beauty product that I dont love to try out. Even when I bend and buy one, the color never looks as intended and associates are always suggesting colors that look good in the store and terrible when I go home. With this all being explained, you can understand my sheer and utter delight at finding the sephora rouge lipstick. Amazing! The color stays on through a meal and glides on effortlessly. It doesn't crease or settle and leaves my lips feeling moisturized without the gloss. This lipstick has the perfect amount of sheen (I dislike matte). The color was just as seen on tube in one swipe. This brand of lipstick has singlehandedly made me realize why women are so obsessed with lipstick...i love this! You don't feel or taste it...one swipe and you are made up! I'm in love....Highly recommended, especially for the anti lipstick girls! Stays put perfectly!

  • CoverGirl Cheekers Blush
    4.0

    CoverGirl Cheekers Blush

A Bit Chalky, Very Pigmented, Good Value

I'm not a big fan of powder blushes in general but I feel that cheekers are very highly pigmented, but seem to sit on the skin so that they wear off quickly. If you apply too much so that it lasts then you look like clown. It's just difficult to get consistency with this item. The price is low so the high level of pigment is very good but the shades selection isn't too flattering either. Very limited. Also the packaging is pretty cheap and feels as though it could break in your bag at any moment (though I've never had it happen to me). Comes with a harsh itchy brush. I wouldn't really recommend this product to anyone despite amazingly good reviews.
