    DDF Ultra-Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew

Not Great, Not Bad - Average and Unimpressive

There's nothing too exciting about this moisturizer. It's light..maybe a little too light and I don't feel like a little goes a long way at all. It doesn't glide on the skin well nor does it give me a healthy glow as most other moisturizers do...not even in the first 30 seconds of having it on my face. This is a pretty generic feeling moisturizer that left me unimpressed. I don't have anything really bad to say about it but it doesn't seem to have much of a purpose. There's no dewy look and within an hour, I felt like I needed to reapply. Not recommended. Just something average at best, definitely not worth the price.

    Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo

    Pretty good...but not GREAT

I've been a dry shampoo addict for years: powders, sprays, invisible versions, white versions, versions for black hair...bumble and bumble, dove, tresemme, ojon, oscar blandi..you name it. This version is really impressive because although it's a white powder, it doesn't show on my black hair after styling AND it even allows the shine of my hair to come through! (not matte, powder head). There are three downsides to this item: it is a white powder...so you do have to try to get it out - sometimes this is hard to do and it shows on the scalp unless you scrub it. Also, application is really messy. Sprays are usually the easiest application but they make your hair sticky, this item really allows your hair to look like it's freshly washed and styled...maybe even better. Lastly, the product starts out great, but it doesn't really hold the fresh washed look all day and in a few hours your hair can go back to as dirty as it was to start.

    Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

    Love! Brightening and Healthy

I have been using this product for about 1 year and I must say that it has become something that I almost can't live without. While my love for other Ole Henriksen products have faded, this one stays on my in my medicine cabinet as part of my daily regimen. Not only do I love the orange scent but it really goes well under my moisturizer and gives my skin a boost. For a little while I wasn't sure that the "magic" of this product really existed..until I went on vacation and left it home. My skin still looked fantastic but I really missed this. I think it's worth every dime and coming from a beauty junkie, but not a serum addict...that's a huge compliment coming from me. Highly recommended.

    Light, Volumizing

***8 Month update: This item is great at first, but after a few months it doesn't really keep your hair clean. Maybe only good for warmer months...not a winter shampoo*** Yes,this shampoo is a little bit pricey but it really does make your hair feel fantastic. I have been using for a few weeks now and it keeps my hair light and doesn't dry it out. It really feels clean and made me realize that I might have had product build up in my hair. (My hair is not color treated or processed and it's pretty healthy). The peppermint is cooling and relaxing while in the shower. Recommended with the cilantro conditioner for better shine.

  • Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter

Upon trying a sample of this product I fell in love with the scent and had to have it. For a while it became a staple in my hand bag and then my addiction slowly faded. It was pretty great moisturizer if you like heavy but the scent became kind of sickeningly sweet after my initial delight wore off. After a while (about half way through the small container) I got really tired of it and ran back to my body shop butters. I'm a pretty picky body butter person....and the romance with this product was like a firework: lots of bang and excitement in the beginning but it fizzled just as quickly. Nice fling with this product but that was it.

Nexxus Youth Renewal Blow Dry Spray

It's Good, Smells Great but A Little Sticky, Causes Build Up

I've been using this product for about 3-4 weeks now and though I'm not sure that it does everything it claims (I don't know about aging hair), but I can say that it does leave my hair silky after heat styling, feels good on the hair and creates a nice texture on my blowouts. The problem with this item is that it definitely leaves build up after a few weeks and my hair feels like it has hairspray in it the next day. The hold is good on it but the softness and shine wear off. In general, I really like the product for what it does on the day that I do my hair and I love the smell which lasts through the next day. I'm just not in love with the residue. It's a bit stickier and heavier than a normal protection spray - like a mix between hairspray or heavy mousse and protection spray. I'm half way through the bottle and maybe I'd buy it again but I'm on the fence right now. It does make my hair look good even if it doesn't feel the best. Also, only buy on sale.

BareMinerals BareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation

    Perfect: Glowy, Dewy...Light...Terrible Packaging!!!

UPDATE: I wrote the review below and raved about this product...and I loved it so much...but I have two vices with it with it and I have to take my ten stars down to an 7. Why? 1) you really do have to shake it up because it can get very oily, especially as you go through the bottle (I guess the top was what I loved so much, very odd consistency now - it's very much a liquid but the shaking it apparently important and 2) the bottle drips so much (I've stopped travelling with it) I feel like I'm losing half of the bottle no matter how much I tighten the top This can be very messy and annoying. The second one is pretty major for me If they fixed the packaging I'd probably give this product a 9. Original Review: I have been looking for the perfect glowy, dewy and light feeling foundation for 15+ years and I think I have finally found it. This foundation is the lightest that I've ever felt and gives a very smoothing appearance to the skin. (I don't have much to cover). I have darker skin tones so it's harder to find a foundation that really matches my skin - this one in Espresso is absolutely a perfect match and really makes my skin look like nothing is there but it glows! I didn't even realize that it was a "brightening serum" until I brought it home, I just loved the way it looked and felt...it does brighten! I must also rave about the special brush that they offer with it - it's a must buy! It really does create make up artist effects while keeping the look natural. A little goes a long way. I'm not sure that the line has enough colors to match all skin tones, but if you find your tone then count yourself lucky. Very affordable. Great foundation.

Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser

Feels Great, Non Drying, Better than Decent Make Up Removing

I was very curious about this "melting cleanser" as I have never heard of this concept before, but it made sense. I got two samples of this item and used them for over a week straight. Upon my first use, I noticed that it was better than decent but not perfect in melting my make up away and that alone amazed me as I'm always searching for a cleanser that gets eye make up off well (esp. waterproof mascara), After washing it off, I was amazed that this product didn't dry me out at all. In fact, it left my face soft as if I'd just moisturized - especially in the eye area that i had been concentrating on. I was also really happy that it didn't create a heavy, milky substance that is created with many face oils because that always gets in contacts and blurs them over until I change them. My skins feels awesome after using. In general, I'm a big fan of the ole henriksen brand and once again, they do not disappoint. I'm loyal to ponds make up remover and dhc cleansing oil and have been more many many years ...this cleanser falls right under both of of those. I would definitely use this for travel rather than the oil. Great item...I recommend and bought the full size for myself. A little goes a long way!

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural

First "Free Gift" Lipstick That I Love...But Fades Quickly

I received a sample of this lipstick in the Sephora free birthday gift bag and threw it on the side as I usually do with free lipsticks. A few months later I actually opened it to see the color and thought that it didn't look half bad (I was expecting the normal garish red that I can't wear). I decided to try it on while cleaning. This lipstick is actually my lip color in a tube - something that has been impossible to find. I finally found a nude! The only problem is that I can hardly see it when it's on...which isn't really a problem. However, I can't tell when it comes off either and the staying power is pretty weak. Either way, it's my only go to nude and I will definitely buy the full tube. There's no perfume taste and it's has a very smooth glide on...

    Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush

Great Layering, Blending - Matte, Not Dewy

UPDATE: I originally gave this item an 8 as described in the review below. However, for some reason I think the item dried out and became less blendable. I'm liking the product less and less as time passes and I feel like I have to add a lotion to blend it now. Still great for layering and a nice matte finish, but the consistency is changing. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have this product in both flushed and coral reef - both are absolutely fantastic on darker skin tones and though they appear to be very bright in the container...they are not this way unless layered. With one swipe the product easily blends into the face and is easy to use on the go, you can't mess it up. It provides a very beautiful flush. This is a cream that seems to become a matte blush upon application. No need to a blush over it or anything else to accent, just layer to perfection. Great item if you want color without any dewiness. I could definitely see how these colors would be universally flattering. UPDATE: I got the NYX cream blush and it's almost the same as this but it's more pigmented (not so much layering needed), doesn't blend as well as this product and provides a more creamy/dewy/wet look. Overall, I prefer the NYX stick best.
