I'm extremely surprised at all of the positive reviews for this item as my experience was nothing close to "glowing". I bought a small bottle of this (the price is great, especially for Sephora) because of the great reviews and because of what it promised to do. Upon squeezing some out my instant reaction was that it smelled bad, but I figured I'd try it out. It's got a waxy kind of smell. I wet my face as instructed and rubbed it on. The lather was very rich, though the smell was really distracting ....and it felt good on my face. I rubbed it in and was really enjoying the experience. I rinsed off and thought that this was a great product. Then I blotted my face off (I have normal skin, no blemishes) and walked into the next room...in those few seconds my face became dry and tight. I put on a tried and true moisturizer....and it dried out within a few minutes. I definitely didn't leave any product on my face and figured I'd try again the next day. After a few days this product remained to be one of the most drying face cleansers that i've ever tried despite a great lather. The smell alone would have deterred me from buying, the drying experience just sealed the deal. (All stars are for the lather and actual washing experience). Not for me, not recommended.

Skin perfector is an understatement for this item. I have darker skin and use Topaz. It immediately gives my skin a golden glow and blends into skin to create a glowing light from within look. The product keeps your skin dewy and doesn't work as a highlighter or bronzer, it just makes skin perfect. I do recommend using this sparingly: tops of cheeks, under eyebrows, cupids bow and maybe on the nose. You can't really overdo this, but it's best to use it sparingly. With that being said, this item lasts forever but be careful of a leaky bottle (especially if going on a plane). Yes, this keeps your skin looking moist...in day light, lamp light and any other light. Just beautiful on all skin tones, for every day use, in all seasons and for all ages. Never looks fake. Love this and have been using it for years. My only gripe is that I can only find it online...not sure which retailers carry it.

I hear so many great things about this moisturizer and I dont understand what the hype is all about...I feel like it has a very nice consistency but leaves a strange residue on my face and doesn't absorb so well. I didn't see a difference in my skin after using for a week. Though I'm a fan of the brand, somehow this didn't do anything for me. I have darker skin which is normal to dry and no major face blemishes.

I have been a tarte cheek stain fan for years and though I love them, I don't like the way that their pigments can be so inconsistent (sometimes very heavy or sticky and sometimes you have to really rub it on) and that they dry out somewhat easily (hard film on top that needs to be wiped away). The good thing is that these colors stay put for a long time once you find your favorite and that they smell great (rasberry?). They also provide a nice dewy look. I would recommend these to a friends as I have several sticks and they last forever. I have darker skin and my favorite color is blushing bride. These should be tried on in the store as they look totally different than what you see online. TIP: once you find your favorite they discontinue colors very quickly so I suggest buying more than one if you really love it.

I tried a few spray lotions at one time in order to compare and contrast - Vaseline was among my top favorites. It hit all concerns and really defined the concept. The smell wasn't my favorite but was nothing unpleasant, just something subtle. The coverage of the spray on this bottle was the best in that it covered a large area with a light misting but very hydrating dose of lotion and didn't really leave the need to spread the lotion around if in a rush. If I did opt to rub the lotion in, it was spreadable and maintained a somewhat thicker but strangely more easily absorbed formula than other lotions. This bottle also lasts a very long time. If I had to choose a spray lotion that hydrated, has decent coverage, is least time consuming and has a great formula this would probably be my favorite. This is also the only one out of all the ones that I tested that could possibly be used in the dry winter months comfortably. Recommended

I tried this product against two other spray lotions in my quest for the perfect product (I love the idea). First off, I love the smell of this lotion the most out of any other - I got the coconut orchid. It's not perfumey and fades after some time but goes on feeling tropical and refreshing. For me, the coverage of the spray on this bottle was a little too directed and literally sprayed in lines over my body. This meant that after spraying I would have to rub the lotion to cover an area completely or really use too much extra lotion in trying to cover the area. Either way, I had to rub the lotion all over afterwards. This brings me to the consistency of this lotion - it's a bit watery and doesn't spread well and after spreading all over kind of leaves a wet feeling (think gel deodorant). St. Ives is one of my favorite products and if I hadn't tried other products then I might have like this one more but it didn't really come out as a winner because of the actual product consistency and product coverage. I'd probably use this in the summer when real hydration isn't an issue but in the dry winter months it's not the optimal product.

Nothing Spectacular, Unpleasant Smell
So my first impression of this item is that it has a very strong honeysuckle/flowery smell which I didn't like, but wasn't heavily weighted deciding factor in my review of this product. I just don't feel like this item remove makeup or dirt well and doesn't leave me with a super clean feeling. I know it's supposed to be gentle but there is nothing exciting about this item and it's a bit below average. I wouldn't buy it again and I wouldn't recommend to anyone as there are too many other better items out there. Yes, it's has that au naturel french product feel to it which some people like, but it's not for me. If you like a lot of L'Occitane then maybe you would really enjoy this. Just not clean or impressive enough for me. Not recommended.

I received a sample of this product and thought that even thought it felt and smelled good, it really didn't do much for my skin. I prematurely wrote this item off and thought that it didn't really work - very unimpressive. A few weeks later I ran out of my favorite scrub and decided to use up this sample in order to use it up. The sample lasted a bit under two weeks and wow, it really made a difference. If you follow the directions and use 2-3 times a week then your skin will actually appear brighter. The softer part comes right away because the scrub is a little bit harsh, but not anything horrible. Wait a few weeks before judging the brightness factor and you will be pleasantly surprised. The only reason that I took two stars off is because there are other lower priced items that do the same thing....maybe not better, but they do work. Still a great product and worth the price. Note: this isn't a "little goes a long way" type of item.

Lately I've really jumped on the gel/jelly cleanser trend and I've tried a whole bunch of them. This one was pretty good at easily removing eye make up but I was not impressed at how much it dried out my skin. After two days of using I really felt like I had to keep applying moisturizer. I prefer Ole Henriksens Truth Gel Cleanser over this product. I wouldn't waste my money on this as there are better gentler, cheaper and more moisturizing cleansers out there. Maybe this would be good for the summer when you need less moisture...but overall, I wouldn't recommend. The only plus is the make up removing ability, but you can find that in many other products. Skip it.

So this is a straight floral scent - as in it smells like a bouquet of lilacs. This is a very spring like scent but somehow it reminds me of a young girl in the spring time. It doesn't fade quickly and is somewhat cloying. I wouldn't really wear this scent again. There is nothing sexy about it. Maybe it didn't mix well with my body chemistry. A perfect 10 for the floral lovers, especially lilac since you can't smell the other notes in it.
